Hey guys,

I was the guy who ran Master of the Fallen Fortress last Saturday. Great game by the way to those involved. I've been running games for several years, though that was my first time running a Pathfinder Society Game. Could someone walk me through on how the report process works? I've got 4 1st level characters who survived the adventure who need the XP.

I've got character names and their pathfinder society numbers, though I did not get their factions. For those of you who played in the Fallen Fortress on the 4th of Feb, I need your factions. No prestige points sadly, there are none to be had on Fallen Fortress.

Thanks

Thank you so much I had a good time at this game, and on a different note I would love to chance to gm a game I have played a lot of games but I am no expert so if you need a gm one night I can try my hand at it.

Agree with the idea that, if we can make our presence felt and make sure that we encourage all our players and GMs to make purchases at Hillside (thus, engendering goodwill from the owners of the store), that we could definitely make our mark on Hillside.

We have a surprisingly tenacious, steady attendance and with the untapped capacity for growth in the Asheville Area nerd populace (some of these flyers around UNCA/AB Tech would be awesome, as well as in the fantasy sections of the local libraries and of course at the other game/hobby/comic book stores, we could really be a thing.

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but we already have the longest thread in the PF Lodge section of the message boards, and we're not slowing down. We are adding new players and maintaining our numbers better than Dink, Zylph, and I could ever have dreamed.

Thorynn- let us know about your proposed offshoot on Tuesday(?) nights. The more, the merrier, and we can see about sharing scenarios between GMs so that no one is shouldering more of the financial burden than they want to.

If you can get them to me I can see about getting them at AB TECH and possibly UNCA

I had a great time I am glad I gave up my slot you had definitely prepared to run more then I. I really enjoyed playing at your table.

'fraid I'd be sitting out for Tuesday/Thursday games, Unless someone wants to start up another chapter farther West (if I had the money and time, I'd start a Western Campus lodge). All I ask is that, if you're going to do multi-part scenarios, do those parts only at one of the locations (Part 1 on Tuesday/Thursday, different scenario on Saturday, part 2 the next Tuesday/Thursday), in order to keep some continuity and allow those of us that cannot attend both to keep with some story
Otherwise, have fun ^_^

There are a few of us that live in Mars Hill/Weaverville area and I was thinking about running a few privet PFS sessions in the coming months.

Scarab Sages 1/5

Hmmm... northern, western, southern. Maybe the "Grand Asheville Lodge" meets every two weeks, faction lodges meet other times? We could have sub lodges named after the pathfinder factions: APL - Andoran, APL - Osirion etc.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

That's an evil idea, Thorynn. I like it.

Scarab Sages 1/5

I'll have you know I'm chaotic good, sir!!! Evil... preposterous.

Sovereign Court

Interesting idea ... so would there be the "Hendersonville Faction", "Weaverville Faction", etc?

Scarab Sages 1/5

Yeah, if people are into it. It may be confusing for new players and wouldn't have any mechanical purpose, but it could be fun. Especially if we had a "Hall of Fame" on a APL website. You could check the standings of the different factions and see which hero has the most fame or something. It could become a book-keeping nightmare, or it might be cool. Just kicking around ideas.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

It'd be cool if we had that many gamers in the area.

We could name the factions after lots of different things....

Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum....

Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Charisma, Constitution....

Bruenor, Wulfgar, Regis, Catti-Brie, Drizzt....

Just ideas. It looks like we have a spot for the Bruenor Battlehammer Faction of the Asheville Pathfinder Lodge.....Now we just need Valentine's Day to pass.

Hi All,
Couple things:
1) The Flyer - I was able to get it from its original format (Open Office ODT) to a pdf so it is now easily transportable and it looks pretty crisp. I also contacted Kinkos on River Drive (near Biltmore Village), and they've agreed to accept credit card orders via email from me, to be picked up by one or more of ya'll. So...if you're willing to go by Kinkos to pick them up, I need your name, how many copies you want and when you'll be picking them up. I'll have them there waiting for you.
2) I'll let ya'll stew over Asheville Lodge sub-group naming strategies...I'm not in it for the fame, only the groupies...But for those of you north of Asheville, if ya'll want to post who you are, where you live, what nights and frequency you'd be interested in playing and any possible locations you might have up your sleeve, I'd be happy to post a compiled list. And to get things started - I'm Jim (the guy with the pony tail). I live near Micaville, about 4 miles past Burnsville (20 miles east on route 19 off of I-26 exit 9, which is next exit past Mars Hill from Asheville). Total distance from downtown Asheville is about 45 miles. I would be interested in playing Tues, Wed or Thurs nights. I'd like to do it weekly, but am OK with something less frequent. Also, I'd like to start at 6 sharp (meaning everyone shows up a bit earlier than that) to be done by 10 and give some time to get home at a reasonable hour. Even though I'm probably furthest out from Asheville, and we'll probably want a place more in the Mars Hill area or thereabouts, I'll mention a couple potential locations in Burnsville - a community center, a sandwich shop that is probably not too busy most nights, and my home (which would be an ideal place if people want to travel this far).

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

So here's my suggestion(s)...

1.)Let's plan all of these sub-Asheville weekday gaming events, and plan for one table (to start) at each.

2.)Let's keep the weekend (Saturday) game in Asheville (wherever) for the present.

3.)Let's make certain we don't dilute ourselves so much that we get burnt out. (Yes, me, Captain BurnOut, said that.)

4.)Let's share (modules, scenarios, battlemats, miniatures, etc).

5.)Let's kick some aasimar and be the best Pathfinder Lodge without a VC or a VL we can be!

Excellent point...has me rethinking how often I'd like to do an Apple (APL) North session. Maybe every two weeks alternating with Apple Prime (Saturday games) would be better to start...we can always adjust later if we want to.

I'm your HuckleBerry - I may not be sitting beside you every week but you can contact me for anything! I will be up there at least three times this year for events if I can get Nate to reply to my emails. If not I am going to go elsewhere to another venue that is gamer friendly.

BOOOP TO THAT! SCARAB TO THE RESCUE! I knew this was coming - my crystal ball told me so. I let Dinketry know the other day that I am working on venues in Ashville and I have one all lined up. We are working on the contract right now. It will be a one day event max capacity 200 people 10-midnight and fee will be around $5 to $10 for an all day pass and we'll bring all the games you see at SCARAB + all the PFS we can!

Scarab Sages 1/5

Del to the rescue! Awesome. So are we talking like a mini-con? SCARAB-North? The rare and elusive Mountain SCARAB? Whatever it is... I'm in.

I'm stoked to heard about SCARAB under the Mountain!

I just wrote a friggen long post then the .net ate it...

Well to sum it up;

Yes! I think Mini APLs are an awesome idea.

Dink has a good point if we go weekly at the satellite locations that is 6 tables a month for regular GMs and that is way to much for me as of now it sounds overwhelming.

I like the idea of limiting it to 1 table and that is what I was thinking for APL north anyway.

I want to start out Bi-weekly, if we have to many games we will severally limit the Mods available, I am currently experiencing this. I have played many low lvl Scenarios and I am running into whole days at Cons that I can play at hardly any of the tables offered. Spread out the pathfinder goodness there is no rush to play it all. :)

I was thinking Mars Hill would be a good location to meet in. I live 12mi away and Stu is less then 2mi.

You guys at SCARAB are awesome, first you guide me in my first steps into the wonderful world of Pathfinder Society at MACE then you introduce me to the wider world of PFS at SCARAB. SCARAB & PFS are synonymous in my books.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Del, I think we'll be able to muster 200+ to come to "SCARAB Under the Mountain". We've got a bunch of rabid fans here in AVL for the PFS game, and more keep coming out of the wood work.

As far as organizing mini-APLs.....I need to know who's taking on what area, if you're interested. I'm going to spear-head the Hendo area effort (along with Kai'Aden). Eaghen, I understand that you're interested in doing a Burnsville/Mars Hill-type of effort. I would suggest that you and Jake team up.

Two mini-APLs are good for now - that allows us to cover areas north and south of Asheville proper. Twice a month seems the way to go, alternating with the weekend that the Asheville (Main? Central? Grand?) Lodge meets.

Next Asheville Pathfinder Lodge meeting is the 18th. I'm looking at the 21st (Mardi Gras!!!) for the first Hendo Lodge meet-up. Location to be announced...

GMing my first session for some guys down south tonight. We'll see how they like Penumbral Accords. After reviewing the stats of the baddies from that, I really have no idea how we all survived. If the puppy was home instead of gone, I think we would have been toast... CLW wand or no. Needless to say, the guys won't be playing "up" tonight. Wish me and my Pathfinders luck!

That sounds good. Stu and I will be meeting tonight to talk about the best days and times. I want to know how many people are intested in an APL north meeting. That will help me gage GM work loads. I plan on being the main GM and Stu wants to try it out so that is two.

I have two friends that I'm running a homebrew world for on Sundays once or twice a month. They live in Weaverville. Our second session is this Sunday and Aravandor is joining the team. I'm sure he and I will try to get them interested in PFS and they'd be in APL north's neck of the woods.... I'll keep ya posted. I'd join you guys as I am 20 minutes from Mars Hill ect, but I think the wife is at her limit as I mentioned before.

ok as far as APL north goes I have tomorrow off so I am going to be looking into sites we can hold a game, also I just got some scenarios all the free intro ones and some others maybe we can collaborate so people are not buying scenarios someone already has.

Ok, so I booked my hotel for Feb 18 at connooga. I'll definitely be there with the SCARAB folks who made the con in Columbia so much fun. I'll be sad to miss the APL meeting that weekend.

Looks good for APL sublodges springing up everywhere. I'll be dropping in on some of them from time to time. Asheville vs Hendersonville vs other nearby hamlets makes little difference to me. I'm driving 50 miles already. 60 miles is what? Ten more minutes for me? Fifteen? So once firm locations and times crop up, I'll be there some weekdays.

I'll see if Luthril and I can lure some unsuspecting home brew folks over to the dark side this Sunday also.

Now that I know I'm heading for another convention, I really wish that I had a shirt with a logo for our lodge. It seems like this lodge is really growing and the more people see of us at cons the more likely we would be to land events in and around Asheville.

Goin/Goon: I live in Webster near Southwestern Community College. That is like five minutes from Western Carolina University. Do you know many folks on campus who'd like to do PFS? If you do, we could try running some games weekdays locally. We'd just need a GM (me/you?) plus three more to get a table going. Just food for thought.

Scarab Sages 1/5

The party not only survived, but dominated! In large part due to the gunslinger's hot dice (d12 musket damage!), and the dog-paladin skewering some baddies on his lance! A good time was had by all, and I'd say we've got something started down south!

So I was looking at a map of the Inner Sea area of Golarion. If Asheville is Absalom and the home of the Grand Lodge, North would be APL - Andoran, South would be APL - Osirion, West would be APL - Cheliax, and east would be APL - Qadira or maybe Taldor. Although it doesn't sound like many people are coming up from Black Mountain or Swannanoa. Do we want to go with faction names for the mini-lodges or is that confusing?

I work a lot in Jackson County, as Aravandor well knows. I can't promise availability regularly, but I could be convinced to play/GM occasionally, since I'm out here to begin with for work. My wife may kill me though. I'd have to check and see.

APL North, APL South, and APL West? Wow. That's kinda crazy.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Thorynn, I'm glad the first APL South meeting went well. I would advise against naming the lodges after Golarion areas - some people might get confused that they refer to Pathfinder Factions. As an aside, I'd be very interested in playing/GMing for the APL South Lodge in the immediate future if there are more events to be had.

Aravandor, I've got a brand-new Andoran Faction tshirt that I'm not using that you could wear to ConNooga if you'd like. Not sure how I'd get it to you, or even if you'd want to wear an Andoran tshirt, but the offer is out there.

Eaghen, I'd be down with making some business card size takes on your flyer. Let me know what I can grab from the flyer to put on a business card. I'm going to design and order something later on today if you're up for it.

Stu, I'm always happy to lend what materials I've got. Hit me up if you need.

StrangePackages, take it easy today. Deep breaths. Stay away from anything dark blue in color.

Thats totally understandable about the mini-lodges. Kai'aden was talking about getting you in on next week. That would be great! We'll figure out details soon.

That Andoran Shirt is good for a reroll during PFS play! That being said, if you guys are good with Asheville Pathfinder Lodge as the name, we've got some talented people that could work up a logo in this group. Once that's done, my brother works for a t-shirt company, so if we could get an order together, we could get them at nearly cost. Cost depends on how many colors are in the logo, how many shirts are in the order, whether we try to order extras to sell to new members etc. But if we provide the art, it should be pretty cheap, and a great way for APLers to recognize each other at events. Not to mention representin' at Mountain SCARAB! We should definitely put something together by then.

Of course...take what you. All the images are from Paizo community resources, so entirely appropriate for Pathfinder-related pursuits...and there is tons more stuff there you might want to check out. One word of caution...you might want to read through THIS...it is the legal mumbojumbo about using the community resources.

Ok Jim,

Epic stats as this is a VERY challenging storyline. Roll 4d6 reroll 1s and drop the lowest score. give me an email address so I can give you the races and classes available and the host's address. Warning you won't be elf dwarf or human those are already taken and this story requires no two of the same race... but it's a real page turner as we say about novels.

Stu did his scouting today and the results are disapointing, none of the places are open late enough or you have to pay to use the location. Mars Hill looks out of reach unless someone else knows of a good location.

We decided as a result that the next best location is Weaverville. Gamer's Haunt will most likely be the location but we have to go confirm times first.

Aravandor- what name did you register in warhorn under for Connooga? I'll try to get in a few games with you.

Strange: Thanks for the offer. If I find some people local to me to do PFS, I'll definitely bug the hell outta you to play/GM from time to time. Was just a thought really. If anyone knows people then I'd try to organize. Otherwise, I'll get my RPG dose on the road.

Dink: Thanks for the offer to share clothes, but I'm not sure we've reached that point in our relationship yet. It's not you - it's me. Actually, I was more interested in wearing an advertisement of the Asheville lodge specifically. Like "Wow, those Asheville lodge weirdos are always at every con. I wish they would go away." I do think it would be good for people at conventions to know that there's a lot of Pathfinder activity out here. In that spirit, I drew up a few preliminary SVG based designs. You can take a look at them here.

And I will eventually get one of those shirts for myself as soon as the Sczarni start printing them. I have no idea why a shadowy criminal organization would decline to print t-shirts identifying members.

Jake: I'm registered in the Connooga Warhorn site as "Bekra."
