So, any interest in a Thursday 12-4 game? The traditional meeting of the High Noon crowd? I can run just about any scenario, so take your pick.

But sound off quickly. We'll need to see if we have the bodies to make a game.

Had jury duty today, so I didn't see this until now. I'm interested in midweek games, though there's not a lot of time to throw it together now. You should post it on the Facebook group, since that will send email notifications.

If you'll post a shout out, I'll have somethign ready and be there at 12:00. Sounds like there may be enough interest to get a table. Test the waters best we can...

I could play a game on Saturday, if there were one going on.

Hello, my finely-feathered fetchlings,

I hope you are all well today. I met with the proctors for the GM 101 course last nite. They are, StrangePackages (Justin), Zylphryx (Dain), and Thorynn (Kevin), along with yours truly. We discussed the syllabus, as well as schedules. I do think you're all in for a humdinger of a course, but there are some updates:

We need to move the course by one Friday night (to 9/26/12) in order to a) accommodate our proctor's schedules, b) match up with the next Lodge meet-up (9/27/12), and c) maximize the potential for awesome. I've made the appropriate changes on the Warhorn site, so take notice, all y'all. No need to sign up again, by the by, as I've transferred all who previously signed up to the new date. If you need to check it out: HERE.

But what exactly will you be doing in this course, you might ask? I'm glad you did. Here is the breakdown of the mini-sessions that we will cover during the course. And remember, a minimal part of this will be Pathfinder-specific. I do believe that we all can raise our games in whatever game system we play through this course:

a) "Baby Got Back(ground)" - Roleplaying memorably and bringing your world to life
b) "How to RULE!" - Efficient and correct rules management
c) "Hate/Love the Game, Not the Player" - Prepping your scenario, Game Day, or convention
d) "Unearthed Ephemera" - Advanced topics and unexpected bull****

More will come out as we continue to prepare. Happy Thursday, y'all!

He means 10-26 and 10-27?

The Exchange 2/5

Damn, and I was so looking forward to time travel.

Sovereign Court

either that or we were planning for next year. Since this is the last year on the Mayan calendar, all years will be 2012 going forward. ;)

Wait, you mean there won't be anymore aging after this year?

Sovereign Court

yep ... and the year will always end on Dec 21 ... and start up again on Jan 1 11 days later. It'll be like the entire world goes on an 11 day bender and has the mother of all blackouts. ;)

Maybe I can use the birthday excuse to show up for it now.

Of course, I was listing the date as per the European system of dates, which means the educational symposium will take place on the ninth day of the 26th month of 2012, which is, strangely enough, 10/26/12.

I love you "Noonies". Or is it "Nooners"?

Happy Monday, my Gorgeous Grippli!

This is going to be some week, that is fo sho! Let's go to the highlights reel...

Monday (that's today) in a few short hours (at NOON), our very own Luthril will be running a mid-week mid-day Pathfinder Society (PFS) adventure at the Wyvern's Tale (WT). They're still looking for some more players, so get in on the action if you're in.

Tuesday (that's tomorrow night), we'll be rocking some PFS craziness at the Deck Box in Fletcher starting around 6PM. Come on out and brave the flea market crowd, and bring a friend. We've got a fledgling group there that could always use more Pathfinders.

Saturday is ACE!!!! That's the Asheville Comic Exposition, if you have been under a rock for the past few weeks/months. It'll be at the Civic Center (US Cellular Center), and it will be Excelsior! Comics and costumes and table gaming and card gaming and vendors and Minibosses oh my!!! Come on and get your TMNT on! $5 at the door to get in to the Awesome. Many kudos to Thorynn and his crew for putting this dang thing together. What dang thing? THIS DANG THING!!!

And if you haven't had enough gaming at ACE, there will be games after ACE!!! PFS will be moving to the WT and continuing gaming into the wee and chilly (it's fall, y'all!) hours of the evening on Saturday night! More games! More dice! More! More! MORE!!!!

Oh, you want to sign up for all this junk? Well, I don't know where to tell you to go------

WARHORN SIGN UP!!! Boom.

That is all. For now....(moo hoo hoo hoo hah hah hah MOO HOO HOO HOO HAH HAH HAH HAH!!!!!)

Shadow Lodge 2/5

Does anyone want to run a game on Friday? i have some new people and i don't want to run an intro this week... or if i could borrow a scenario....

Silver Crusade 5/5

Soooo... for those esteemed gentlemen lucky enough to survive on Monday, if you would like me to record the scenario before Saturday please be so good as to PM or post your Character name, #, and Faction :)... Sorry I had to dash but child takes precedence over gamer buddies every time.

You guys did an excellent job defeating the darkness... and darkness is a B so... Nice work.

I'll be running Intro's once again at the WT on Friday. Hoping to get some follow up from last week with some players! Also, are there going to be any games on Thursday?

Liberty's Edge

Hey folks! Did I hear something here about a friday GM class? I will most certainly attend!
Also, if anyone has time off next week (15th-19th) with the exception of thursday, I will be free and available for some games.
I hope to see you all soon! ACE, here I come!

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

The Friday GM 101 class will be on Friday, October 26th starting around 6PM. You can sign up on Warhorn. (The link works!)

Had a grand group of 6 Pathfinders (2 brand new) at the Deck Box last night. Thanks to Michael Jones for coming out and bringing his Melee-Tastic Mage. We'll have some APL-Fletcher faces at ACE as well this weekend, so make them feel welcome!

As Galen has mentioned, he's looking to run some Intros this coming Friday night at the WT. Hit him up if you're interested.

Ok, I'm in need. Looks like I don't have the event number on one of my chronicle sheets. I was hoping someone could help me get it. The event was for the lodge on May 26.

Do you have Intro 3 prepared? It seems like only Jake runs that one.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Good morning fellow followers of the Open Path...

I am in need this morning of one Pathfinder to complete a party of intrepid explorers setting off for the FIRST TIME tonite in Society play. I have a home-based Pathfinder group that wants to start Society play, and we're running Intro Step 1 for them tonite. Unfortunately, we had a last-minute cancellation, and are in need of one Pathfinder to come join us.
The game will be held in East Asheville, and there's no commitment past this evening. I simply want to round out the party for the people who will be rocking the PFS for the first time. I'll be at the WT socializing and scheming later on this afternoon. If you're interested, come find me there and we can discuss the specifics.

I met the one and only Mateo (of Multiverse AVL and GeekOut fame) last night! It's crazy how easy it is to spread the gospel of Golarion by making copies of character sheets in public places...

Happy Thurs the Day, y'all!

Who do I talk to for my badge when I get there?

Scarab Sages 1/5

Event Number: 17086

Allison Gaines is the ACE coordinator and will have the badges. She may be running around like crazy tho, so I would anticipate they will be waiting for you at some kind of information table, but just let anyone on ACE staff know you are a GM for the gaming area and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Email me if there are any issues: ksheuer at gmail dot com

Dark Archive 3/5

I will have some PFS numbers if anyone needs some.

Dark Archive 2/5

Random question if one were to multiclass a monk would your bonus to flurry of blows go up? i am talking about the bonus to hit not getting more attack or anything, i am under the impression that it would not, but i would love to be proven wrong.

Sovereign Court

Interesting question ... not sure of the official stance on this one, but I would think that while the number of strikes would not increase(as that would be tied to the levels in Monk), the attack bonus would as it FoB is basically TWF while unarmed (-2 penalty ... same as two light weapons with the TWF feat).

Of course I could be completely wrong on this one and the bonus for FoB could be limited by the Monk Level as well.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Dear APL crew (and others),

What a blast that was yesterday. I know of at least three GMs (including me) who are very hoarse today from all the gaming - a fabulous day all around. Thanks to each and everyone of you who took place in the set-up, the ACE event, or the ACE after-event, or all three!

A special kudos to our very own Thorynn who shouldered the heavy load of wrangling the role-players. Hats off to you, sir!

My favorite moment yesterday: As I was wrapping up the Kids' Table Beginner's Box Adventure, one of the 4 youngsters (the Rogue) looks at me and says, "Well, is that it? That's not the end of the adventure, is it?"

I told him "HELL, NO." And then I steered him to the Wyvern's Tale table to pick up some dice.

Exciting news! Our own Zylphryx will be starting up a Project: Swallowtail Pathfinder Adventure Card game test-group in our area! We are currently hunting for 1-2 devoted card game players who could get together and play-test this new Paizo project at minimum 10 times in the next 6 weeks. Yup, that's a commitment, but if you're interested, send me or Zylphryx a PM and we'll get you hooked up! And if you want more info before committing...HERE!

I know y'all are still recovering from yesterday, but we don't rest on our haunches long here at the APL! We've got our GM 101 session coming up in 2 weeks (Friday, October 26 at the WT). There is another PFS Game Night coming up at the Deck Box on Tuesday, October 23rd, and of course, another Game Day at the WT on 10/27. Want sign-ups? HERE YA GO.

Finally, MACE is coming! Charlotte will be the host of this upcoming convention from November 2-4. Tons of games, tons of gear, tons of fun! A number of your APL GMs will be running games there, and of course, the VC of VCs, Mr. DC2 will be there as well. Check it out!

Ok, enough for me, my Girtablilu! I'm off to find some hot tea and a lozenge.

-Dink

Sovereign Court

As each game runs about 1.5 hours on the average, I think we could feasibly be looking at three games per session (or about as long as as a PFS scenario). Days are up for discussion, but during the week I am limited to evenings only; maybe two evenings per week with 2-3 games per session.

I did get to play test this at Paizocon 2012 and it was pretty cool. The table I was at won our game ... though barely. If we had not taken it on the turn we did, we would have lost it outright.

I do plan on trying this out with some other folks as well, so there should be plenty of play testing for this originating with the APL and surrounding area.

Silver Crusade 1/5

If people are interested I will run scenario 4-2 In Wrath's Shadow this coming Saturday 20 Oct at 6:00 at WT

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Had A great Time at ACE And WT. Thanks To All The GMs Who lost there Voices.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Ha! *ow* (Still nursing the vocal cords)

Dark Archive 3/5

If I run a scenario at tier 1-5 and have a level 6 character, could the character get credit for it?

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Nope. The character has to legally be able to accept credit for that module.

See HERE.
