Guten tag!

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Ok, back to lingua franca:

I've made an official event for the UNCA APL games on 8/25. As before, if you're NOT a UNCA student, please contact either AlyGlows or stupottery before signing up for a UNCA game next Saturday.

A small change to the gaming schedule for upcoming lodge Saturdays: we've decided to push back the start of the second scenarios to 6PM. We've done this for a few reasons, but largely, it's more of a buffer between games to allow GMs an opportunity to eat, record chronicles, answer PC questions, and rest the vocal cords. The changes have already been made on the Warhorn site, so there's nothing for y'all to do but nod and smile.

Oh, and announcements. Many, many announcements. Like the ones coming this Saturday!

That's all for now, my ridiculous remorhazi. Happy Rainy Tuesday!

Silver Crusade 5/5

I'll be arriving 4-4:30ish on Saturday and will set up the computer in a quiet corner if folks need help with anything.

I really will stop offering soon if no one needs help...

I don't think APL Saturdays have quiet corners.

I went ahead and got HeroLab too, and am mostly pleased with it. I wish it knew that it's okay to wear a buckler or cestus with certain other weapons, and I would like more options for which information blocks appear where. It would also really be nice to have a way to consolidate coins to their lowest weight without having to buy some junk 'custom item' for silver and gold only to change it back in for gold and platinum.

Actually, I was thinking it might be fun to try running an intro or something, but I haven't done one before, and there's not much time left before the 25th... and I'm not a student there anyway, so that might make them want to charge us or something.

As long as you get your visitor parking sticker from the nice students in the front desk it should be fine. ^_^ (Desk is located in Highsmith too!)

I doubt that they'd charge for this though, events normally don't cost. Now if you want to use their gym that's another story but come on, we're geeks! We exercise our minds instead! Muahaha!
((Besides who has time to go running? ))

Scarab Sages 1/5

I SIGNED UP for my game on saturday. Have you? Do it!

Also, get ready for some t-shirts! I'll have my list, and be checking it twice. Bring cash if you ordered shirts, that would be super nice.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Mmmm, Cash for shirts...

do you have a copy of that order list you can post, Thorynn? That'll help us remember exactly how much to bring you.

Big news, people!

The Asheville Pathfinder Lodge has unofficially provided some other geographic spin-offs that we've named APL-North, APL-West, etc, etc. I am pleased to announce that we have a new spin-off lodge: APL-Fletcher.

The Deck Box (in Smiley's Flea Market, 5360 Hendersonville Road, Fletcher) has had a Pathfinder home-brew game running on Tuesday afternoon/evenings for the past few months. They're getting ready to wrap the action at the end of the month, and they want to start some Society play.

We're talking about 15 brand-new Pathfinder Society players, and we've set a tentative date of 9/4 (that's a Tuesday) at 530PM (ish) to start the action. I'll be running an Intro Steps table, but you'll note that there is NO WAY I can run a table for all these Greenies. So what do I need? I need (at least) 2 volunteer GMs to step up and join in on the fun.

And I want to throw the doors wide open to any and all of you crezzzzzy Asheville Pathfinders to come join us. Gaming on a Tuesday night? Urgathoa couldn't chain me up tight enough not to be there!

I'll set up a Warhorn in the next few hours to document the interest level. If we have enough interest, we might have more than 3 tables of action going. Stay tuned, my sweet troglodytes.

Happy Hump Day!

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Zon Kuthon is the chainy guy, Dink;)

And judging from my math, it looks like the 6:00 Bloodcove Disguise will have an APL of 3... Guess we're going to be playing up? *wicked grin*

Scarab Sages 4/5

I'm going to put out a rallying cry for worthy Pathfinders to join me and Bekra the Knife against the Sewer Dragons of Absalom on Saturday. Surely there must be some level 3-7 Pathfinders who aren't afraid of a bunch of little reptiles someone flushed down the toilet years ago! I mean, how big could they have gotten, anyway?

Scarab Sages 1/5

The upper tier of Sewer Dragons is awesome!

In an unrelated note: Here is the T-shirt list and how much money you need to bring. Good call, SP.

if i were to get the Chelix faction shirt would it be possible to get our logo on the back?

Scarab Sages 1/5

It may be cost-prohibitive for just one, but I'll look into it for you.

Come on people, these sewer dragons won't slay themselves! We need one more brave soul. Join us and you can regale your grandchildren with tales of how you once adventured with Bekra the Bold. I may even share some of the profits with you!

thanks i think it would be cool to rep both lodge and your favorite faction

If the goal is to represent the WT, the Lodge, and Pathfinder in general, then it probably wouldn't be too hard to put together your own shirt on something like Zazzle, if we have access to images that are sufficiently hi-res. I guess the question is, which images & logos are OGL/Creative Commons, and which are protected IP?

That is all.

Happy Friday, mes petites chou-chou.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Hey, what gives? My 6 O'clock game is a lot less populated than it was just a while ago!

Dark Archive 3/5

I sure could use some players.

Sovereign Court

Hey at least you're not holding steady at 2 players ... surely SOMEONE (well two someones) have characters between levels 3-7 who aren't afraid of some sewer dragons?!?!!? ;)

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Looks like I went from 6 to 3. That's no fun. I was gonna make them play the 3-4 tier!

*pout*

I'm trying, Zylph. It seems that no one is interested in basking in the reflected glory of my presence. If that doesn't bring 'em running in I fear nothing will.

Silver Crusade 1/5

I would do sewer dragons, but then goblin blood would be short

Scarab Sages 4/5

It looks like maybe a down week. Are some people at Gencon? Or maybe there will be enough people who show up that haven't signed in on Warhorn. I'm hoping Sewer Dragons is a go, but if not, I can jump across to Goblinblood if it doesn't fill up and play my level 1 Cleric. I've already played Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, but as long as I get into some game, I'm good.

Ívarr is 4th, but I don't want to level him out of your Masks module, and I'd also like to finish the Shades of Ice series with him, though I'm not sure what the cap is for the 3rd part of that one, or if anyone has plans to run it anytime soon. My wizard has done the first two intro steps, so I was hoping to just do the third with him in one of the game slots.

Justin: Sonne and Aly were in your game, but they've removed themselves from both games they were in, so I'm guessing they've run into a scheduling conflict.

Scarab Sages 4/5

I second Shades of Ice. I need part 3 as well if anyone wants to run it midweek sometime. Unfortunately, I head back to Louisiana before the meeting on the 1st (though possibly by way of Dragon*Con). Kevin, Shades should be 1-5, I think.

Ah, okay. Ívarr is at 4.0, and the Masks module Dain is running will give 3xp, I think.

Lantern Lodge

Yeah we're not going to make it for the morning games. Afternoon we're going to go sign up for. ^_^;

The module is going to be run on the 15th, so you'll have to hold on to him for a bit. And yes, all full modules give 3 XP.

I think you were both in Goblinblood and then Bloodcove (how sanguine of you), but now you're gone from both.

So if someone were to run Shades of Ice 3 while Ferious is still here, that would put Ívarr at 4.33, leaving one scenario possible (for 4.67) without leveling out of the module.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Well death to the monk but Krug played good thanks all who helped revamping, I really need to work on making Pc's. Great Day though.

Silver Crusade

Thanks for the game last night had a great time!
I was wondering if anyone was in the H'ville area I need help building a new Pally.

No I could not make heads or tails of that email addy. Besides I am kinda wordy as is so I don't know if could keep it under 100 words. Anyways I just got the demo of Hero Lab so I guess I could work it out on that. I have to learn how to do this sometime hehe. Thanks Boss.

It's just his board name at the web-mail provided by Google.

_______

And yeah, gibbering mouthers suck.

...and then they swallow.

...and then they spit.

Luth speaks his own variant of our language. After you play in a few of his games and see him dive through a few windows or axe a few questions as a PC, you''ll learn to undertand his dialect. If he makes any pc's for you, just remember to ask him to write them up in American.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

That's "Murriken" in Luth's tongue.

The reporting for this past weekend's havoc has been completed. Whine to me if I did not get it right, though we still have some GMs who are not making certain that their sheets are completely completed before handing them to me. Zere will be beatingz until ze morale improvez, yezz?

We had a number of Super Duper Ding Dong PC Deaths this past weekend at the Lodge, and at least one Oh So Close PC Kill (sorry, Luth). I'll be expecting some PC Obituaries to be posted sometime soon up in hee-ya (hint hint, you offending GMs).

UNCA Game Night at the Pinnacle will be going up this coming Saturday. I know at least one APLer whose birthday will be that day (Happy Early Birthday, Keovar!), so let's ask the question now and get the answer straight: can non-UNCA students enjoy this event or no? And if no, how do we go about getting the UNCA Campus Security on our side? Do I need to bake them cookies? Brownies? SPECIAL brownies?

APL Fletcher goes down on September 4th! If you want to be a GM at that event, let me know! It's a Tuesday night around 530PM! I don't know why I put an exclamation point at the end of that last one - old habits are hard to break. I've listed the event here on Paizo (searchable) and on WarHorn. I'll also likely list it on Pen & Paper Games, EN World, Asheville Multiverse, and Yahoo! Groups before all is done. Busy, busy, busy.

WARHORN SIGN-UP! That is all.

Thanks to Thorynn for getting those boss t-shirts in stock. If you have a special order for him, he'll be getting in touch with you when he's got it in. Otherwise, check out the inventory that our buds at the Wyvern's Tale have to grab your own bit of APL glory (and a free reroll at one of our sessions).

A big welcome to the new players we had come out this past weekend - Terry, Dan, and Tansarrf (Tansarff's first official APL romp), as well as a pair of new lurkers of Aly/Sonne who will be joining them in their UNCA game. If I missed any other Greenies, give me a shout.

Get to the Wyvern's Tale this week to bug Simeon about his trip to GenCon last weekend and all the goody goody gumdrop glory he encountered there. I'm sure he'll have some tales.

That's all for me, my rakshasa. Happy Monday!

As to the use of Herolab... powerful tool, and addictive... take meal breaks and remember to keep up on your fluids... Happy building!

For the UNCA thing, I know you can get a visitor pass in Highsmith, that includes visitor parking ticket. I'm sure you can ask the nice working students at that desk for more information to boot, or even student government further down the hall! ^_^

Today me and my friend went around posting the lovely flyers around campus, now when I have time I'll get the SCARAB ones up too!

Silver Crusade 4/5

I recal Simeon say something about having to pay for security if non-students show up...

I will be taking Stu's place (he has to work) as Intro runner this Saturday as soon as I can talk to Simeon.

PS: my birthday is on the 22nd (Wednesday)...

Seriously, bro. Happy early birthday. And thanks for running with UNCA bull(dog)s thus weekend.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I am glad you guys are using warhorn it is a great product and I donated a couple hundred bucks a couple of weeks ago for all the lodges my area that are using that tool, which includes Asheville.

Please remember the owner of that site provides this service out of his own pocket and works from donations.

If you get a chance drop him a few bucks and let him know its from the Asheville Pathfinders and let him know how much you appreciate his tool and his support. Trust me - he will appreciate it. Please do not forget to support those who support us.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

I think I know what we should do with all of the wild profits that we're going to get from the tshirt sales! Just kidding, Thorynn.

Looks like it's time that APL takes a moment to express our gratitude. Let's put this on the docket for a future APL meeting talk-about.

No news today, kiddos. Just a Tuesday. Remorhaz it someone has a birthday tomorrow.

(Ya see what I did there? Punny, me.)

Greetings APL -

Just off of Gen Con 2012... little did I know it would actually be Pathfinder Con.

I got into a Thursday morning session and next thing I know I was into a level 2 bard and the weekend was over...

Anywho - trying to dig up the Asheville PS activities. Do any of you ever run any late night games, i.e. starting closer to 8-9 pm?

Cheers!

The store (Wyvern's Tale) closes at 10pm on it's longest days so you will be hard pressed to find anything other then the odd home game that starts that late... I haven't heard of one.
