What is warmachine? I assume that it's some flavor of miniatures wargaming, but what specifically? Warhammer? Historical wargaming?

Wargaming. There are two Warmachine and Hords all units have set stats on cards for easy reference. It uses a simple d6 system (I have yet to see more then 4 dice thrown at a time.) Armies are lead by a Warlock or Warcaster. And consist of beasts (Horde) or warjacks (Warmachine)

It was extremely easy for me to learn special with all the parallels it has with Role-playing games.

Are they going to be using the whole upstairs or just the miniatures room?

The tournament will taking up all of the upstairs and part of the downstairs.

Scarab Sages

just to make sure im not missing anything, is there another sign up sheet floating around besides the Warhorn that was set up for this coming weekend?

Silver Crusade 1/5

Thanks for letting us know Simeon

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Just to clarify - the WarMachine tournament (which y'all are invited to) will be taking place at WT on 7/28th. It's a pretty big deal, as there will be a representative from the Asheville WarMachine community invited to DragonCon in September for the National WarMachine competition. If you'd like more info, make certain you talk to Matt or Amber (his wife) this Saturday, as they'll be gaming with us.

Sonne, there's only the WarHorn sign up. It's been put to the test, but it's the only official sign up prior to the event.

Jake, Matt told me I missed you by about 20 minutes.

Ok, so back to the game planning... QfP #2 is NOT being run this upcoming saturday, but the all-day module IS? Do I have that right?
If so, I'll head over to the warhorn site now

Nope. For THIS Saturday (7/14/12) there is:

1230pm Icebound Outpost
530pm Citadel of Flame
530pm Storming the Diamond Gate

For NEXT Saturday (7/21/12) there is:
1230pm Crypt of the Everflame
and other stuff, but I am unsure as to what else is being run

For TWO WEEKS from NEXT Saturday (8/4/12) I will most likely pick up the QfP series with #2 at 1230pm and #3 at 530pm ... unless folks would prefer #2 at 530pm in which case I will run something else at 1230pm.

Clear as mud, yes? ;)

Scarab Sages

yes, yes it is..... -blinks heavily-

Liberty's Edge

I, for one, would prefer part 2 at 5:30 on the 4th, unless they finally change my schedule. But, I'm just one voice. If the rest of the crew wants to start at 12:30, I can make sacrifices.

Also, with that schedule being the case, I guess I'll stay signed up for Diamond Gate, and hop in for Everflame on the 21st, if there's room

As for Carin, do you know her handle on the messageboards? If so, you can send her a PM thorough these boards (though she will have to log into the boards to see it).

Good deal, then I'm definitely in for the module! Even if I wasn't able to with Marrec, I'd just play a new character, since the longer-runnng module session just sounds interesting.

Granyt wrote:

Thanks! Checking the WarHorn site, it looks like she got signed back up for Citadel.

-------

Icebound Outpost and Citadel of Flame... now we just need a bard to weave them into a Song of Ice and Fire.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Methinks I must have scared off someone from the Diamond Gate adventure. There were six players signed up. Now there's one open chair for our up-tier scenario (level 4 or higher would be recommended for any takers). Also, the Citadel of Flame has two open chairs left. Both of these scenarios will go off at 530pm.

I also want to let y'all know that preliminary listings for July 21st and August 4th are listed at WarHorn. I'm waiting for specifics from some of the GMs on start-times, scenario names, etc, but some stuff is set. Please note that the Crypt of the Everflame scenario is an 8-hr block: all-day PFS game at the WT with zylphryx dishing out the love! You can sign up for those games today!

We've got Intro Steps also running at both 1230pm and 530pm tomorrow for any PFS greenies or anyone else interested in playing them. GM to be announced at the WT.

Rock on, my Golarion Gang!

It very well may take the full 8 hours, but on the off chance we do finish up early I will bring along the PFS Quest from KQ for a short bonus.

Click here to sign up for the slaug ... um ... adventure! Yeah that's it, adventure. ;)

I was the one that left Diamond Gate. When it appeared to be the only game at 5p I joined it, but when the time for Citadel was fixed, I switched to that.

Darn it all; I can't seem to get these web links right. Oh well, I guess I have a -1 adjustment to my HTML skill check.

*geek laugh*
*pushes up his glasses*

Marrec, no worries! I'm sure Jason will be happy to slaughter you in his Citadel of Flame!

....I mean, ENTERTAIN you, yeah....that's it....

There's an achievement for a TPK? really? Dare I ask what it is?

Scarab Sages 4/5

I think I am going to have some special GM buttons made up that say "TPK!" on them for SCARAB.

Free drinks from all the other GMs that day at the post-gaming pizza place? Dibs on running the next goblin-themed scenario/module on GameDay? One day's loan of Luthril's magic shield to use as you see fit?

Nah, you and Justin have that genre locked down.

dinketry wrote:

But, but, but ... I don't use shields ... even though he has a killer one.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Lol.... TPK is my domaine... so my shield would be an apt prize.... I'll think about it.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Muhahaha I have my first victim... I mean player, signed up for Black Waters on the 21st... don't let him die... I mean adventure alone people...

Scarab Sages

You advertise TPK on every scenario you run but never follow through with us, Luth, you are becoming unreliable when we need you to kill us all. How are we supposed to learn if we don't get killed a few times?

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Hah! Don't poke Luth. He's NE.

Scarab Sages

Why do we have a NE Paladin? Shouldn't he be an Anti-Paladin then?

Davian Fireblood wrote:

Rules are for players. Luth's a GM.

Word!

If you don't think you can loose, then what's the big deal if you succeed?

And if you don't think I have it in me to put 5 or 6 of you down like stray dogs... well you just don't know me very well.

Love ya,
Luth (NE Paladin) yep.

Goon: The good news is that you are much respected and loved among your fellow Pathfinders. This was proven tonight as your comrades banded together in a selfless act of solidarity and paid for your resurrection when the scenario finished.

I'll let Strange Packages explain the bad news...

Shadow Lodge 2/5

So when is the next PFS game at the Wyveren's Tale? the 21st?

Liberty's Edge 2/5

My first character death, and it wasn't even my character.

How lucky am I?

Silver Crusade 5/5

Adam,

Sorry you died man.... rebuild him bigger and badder.

All credits from yesterday have been recorded. Let me know if there are any discrepancies. GMs, please be sure to include your PFS number, your players Factions, and the PPs they earned (or didn't) when reporting. Saves Sherlock work on the back end.

Next (and regular) PFS meeting next week. Warhorn has been updated. Head there to sign up. Thanks again to everyone who came out to have a good time yesterday.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

And by next week, I do mean this coming Saturday, the 21st.

By Cayden Cailean's hangover, I say yes.

Liberty's Edge

So, a couple things:
1) I hear you all got me killed. I hate you all
2) I hear you all pooled together to get me resurrected. I love you all.
3) I better have gone out in a blaze of glory. I want to hear the story later. also, curse my work schedule

and 4) It looks like I'm going to have to back out of the game on the 21st. It's looking like it going to be the busiest day at work I've seen yet, and they've scheduled me for 10 hours, starting 2 hours earlier than normal. I don't want to risk starting that 6-8 hour long module and having to leave before the last battle again, and I would show up for a regular noon game, but it would leave me without much sleep at all before that shift, which seems like an entirely bad idea. And so, I think I'll just be doing to responsible thing and skipping that one day entirely. If, however, we end up with any games thursday night, or any other night this week or next, I would be more than happy to jump in, or even work on running one

If it makes u feel any better Bekra and Exalebar almost died two. Fate just wasen't so crule to us (I rolled a nat 20 on my save!) We were all like "NOOOOoooo!" as we watched Goon fall to his death, and we lemented as much as we could as we fought for our lives and that of our remaining comrades. Those last few blows were for our friend the arsonist Halfling, Goon.

Sorry man, really, sorry. We tried to get everyone off that accursed bridge. The dice gods did not allow Goon to tumble passed the wolverine, grab the rope that was thrown out to the folks on the bridge, etc.

Goln "Goon" Leapstep wrote:

We love you too. The cost was a small price to have Goon live on (though you will want to shell out the cash for a couple of restoration spells to get rid of the negative levels from the raise dead ... the cash you got from the scenario should more than cover it.

There was a blaze ... the bridge was on fire. ;)

<shakes fist at the works schedule>

Probably a good call. The earliest I see the module ending would be 8pm, though it is quite possible it could go to 10pm.

Sovereign Court

Oh, as an FYI, the brothers McSmashin' will be back next weekend and are registered for Crypt of the Everflame. Muscle should be taken care of (2nd level fighter, 2nd level ranger). ;)

Would be nice to get an Asheville Lodge shirt or two at size large. I know there are some others that need shirts also.

Sovereign Court

Aly and Sonne,

Slight modification to our discussion last night. If you play a pregen, you can either apply it to a new 1st level OR hold it until your character is the level of the Pregen you played.

More Asheville Pathfinder Lodge t-shirts? That would be a good thing to have in stock at the Wyvern's Tale, methinks. I hear they grant wearers one free re-roll per scenario to which they are worn.

Not that that did anything to aid poor Goon last night. Damn you, dice gods!

Has anyone besides zylphryx checked out the Web Series "Standard Action"? I've been watching their first season - I'm quite cheesed that I missed out on meeting these folks at PaizoCon. Their stuff is really funny. I'm sure y'all would enjoy.

Check them out HERE.

Question: Did Goon earn XP, gold, or anything on the chronicle sheet for Saturday's game, as he was apparently resurrected? If not, that's cool, but, if he did, I need to level up

Also... how exactly does the whole "raise dead" and negative level thing work? How much am I going to be spending on restoration spells and such?

Yep. You played through 3 or more encounters, so you were covered.

Raise Dead imparts 2 negative levels (-5HP, -1 to attack, skill checks, saves, etc per negative level). Restoration will run 1380gp per negative level (pg 20 of the Organized Play Guide).
