Legal Races in Organized Play

Scarab Sages

Hello, this is my first post here (though someone out there might recognize me from my days of haunting the more esoteric threads of 3.5th Edition on the Wizards of the Coast forums).

Are planetouched (Aasimar and Tieflings from the Bestiary, Oreads, Sylphs, Ifrits, and Undines from the Bestiary 2) legal PC races in Organized Play? I've rooted around for the answer, but it doesn't appear to already be anywhere in clear sight. Someone told me Tieflings were legal since they're common in Cheliax. The "Additional Resources" page does list both Bestiaries, but says nothing for or against anyone featured therein being used as PC races.

To date, access to any races beyond those in the Core Rulebook has been granted exclusively through convention play. Since Gen Con, we've had various conventions offering access to aasimar, tieflings, tengu, dhampir, ifrit, oread, sylph, and undine. But the only way to get these is with a special Chronicle sheet received at a given event.

How would One obtain one of these special Chronicle sheets online without going to a Event

Right now the only way to have a chance at one of the racial boons is to attend an event.. if there are any conventions in your area (they don't have to be super large like Origins or Gencon, but have to be at least 15 sessions), have the coordinator talk to your most local venture captain to see about prize support which would include a racial boon (along with a couple of others).

Not online, but you can emulate your adventurers. Find someone who has gone to an event, beat them up, loot their bodies. Then evade any more dangerous monsters that may have been alerted to your pressence. It's like playing Pathfinder only in real life!

Note, even if not caught, these actions have severe alignment implications that may make other gamers uncomfortable and thus, harder to find a table to play at.

More seriously, I traded my Tengu boon for good mexican food.

This I cannot condone. Not the person selling the boon nor the person purchasing it.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but it has happened, and not really any way to prevent it happening in the future.

I'm all for the only race to be added by the Advanced Race Guide to be goblins.

Kobolds need love too.

The masses murmur that the new race book will bring forth a mass of new legal races. Don't listen to them though they'll make you go crazy.

Yes. The current legal races are the core seven, tengu, kitsune, nagaji, and wayang.

In the future, kindly make a new thread rather than necroing a thread from early 2012.

Heh. And if he hadn't, someone else would have complained about someone starting a new thread when there was a perfectly titled old thread on the subject to use.

No way to win for losing on this kind of thing.

Note that, to use tengu, kitsune, nagaji, or wayang in PFS< you will need to have a legal copy of the stats for the race, and any race-specific options you choose to use.

Also verify that said option(s) are legal in the Additional Resources document.

I noticed literally two minutes later that a new thread had been made and all his questions had been answered twice so... well, best of both worlds.
