Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu watches the others, ready to help if needed, but he stays with his back to the wall near the doorway (somewhere without a corpse hanging on it), arms crossed over his chest. He mutters something about bad juju and has a fearsome scowl on his face that combines with his tattoos. He speaks to no one and merely watches.
brvheart |
Admiral Tame lost his hand to a cowardly, doublecrossing, no-good pirate called Captain Mercy. He’d give his back teeth to anyone who brought Mercy to him—that and their weight in gold.
The Admiral knows every ship that passes through the Turmoil. Those who pass through without his permission are attacked, killed, sunk, and then brutally
questioned.
Boring the Admiral is dangerous. He punishes boredom with his Chastener, a giant wielding a huge scythe. That would be the fights you are referring to
Silas Frey |
With a nod to the others Silas makes his way towards the Admiral to try and engage him.
Going to try conversation first, rather than going to disrupt by playing straight away.
brvheart |
He sits at the center of the crowd, surrounded by desperate merchants, dancers, his harem, and countless others. The general crush makes access to him difficult and occasionally dangerous, as those eager to talk are happy to fight for the privilege. How are you planning on getting there?
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
this is a mad house After working the periphery of the Admiral's "throne room" and getting a few questions answered, Ivar sees Silas heading to the Admiral, Ivar comes up behind him and asks "Are you ready to speak to the Admiral now?" looking at the most direct route Ivar pats his axe and asks "Do you want Rhea and I to clear a path? Might be the easiest way to get his attention. I'll wager Oro-Tu would help to clear the deck." Looking at the crowd a little more he continues "Me and Oro-Tu up front you and Aurora covering our backs. Once we get to the inner circle we give him the hand and Aurora re-attaches it. Keep the magicians back so if something goes wrong Leialoha can clear us a path out while Beth and Uraisa cause as much chaos as possible. Just an Idea but it wouldn't hurt to have an ace up our sleeve." smiling "Or three"
edit: Ivar, Oro-Tu, Silas and Aurora would come in loud using intimidation and the violence if they do not move.
edit #2: could use the crocodiles from the necklace to help clear a path also, possibly could do that in with no other violence, don't know for sure
edit #3: or we can skip the violence and hire a "guide" but you didn't hear that idea from Ivar.
Beth Macara |
"Well, I don't have much to offer, but if flying is an option, then you could borrow that spell from me Silas and fly in with Aurora. Ivar's option is also a possibility. Going into the fray as a mole with Silas at the center and revealing him carrying the hand is also a possibility."
Oro-Tu |
Or Oro-Tu could lift you up haha. So if flying I guess Ivar and I can position ourselves near the door. If things go badly we can keep the doorway clear for the fliers.
Silas Frey |
Silas waits until Aurora is ready, then begins to sing and touches Beth to take on the spell. Once he has it in his mind he offers an arm to Aurora and once she is happy he begins to cast the spell as part of his song. They take flight and head over the heads of the throng towards Tame. Silas announces himself theatrically to try and head off any aggression or nervousness at the act.
brvheart |
You have his attention. Those who access the Admiral can attempt to impress
him. I guess we should wait for Aurora to chime in here also
Silas Frey |
Whilst Aurora readies herself Silas bows. "We have come to present ourselves to you as we journey through Turmoil. First I would like to present some music to lighten the mood."
Silas summons his fiddle to his hands and begins to play.
If anyone wants to help with displays or keeping time that would be great.
Perform: String: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
If that doesn't seem to be enough to enthrall the admiral I will cast Gallant Inspiration to bump it up some more, plus of course if anyone assists
Beth Macara |
Then, muttering under her breath "I hope no one will ever talk about that later.", she uses Silas music to improvise an acrobatic display, cartwheeling around Silas, jumping over him and using the rafters and the bedposts as props for more figures. Going faster and faster as the tempo of the music increases, she culminates her act by landing on a single digit and spinning on it like a spinning top.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32 Nat 20, total will then be 42
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
May as well get the crowd into it. Ivar, standing near the door, begins to clap in rhythm with Silas' playing, growling at the pirates and sailors around him he says "clap you sons of sea whores"
intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 well that's just wrong
wasn't there a story somewhere about fiddler players being so popular that people would clap for them even if they were stomping someone to death? So this crowd should love the fiddle right?
Oro-Tu |
While the others are busy Oro-Tu stays on guard for any underhanded attempts directed at them.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
brvheart |
There is a huge weight up there that would impress Tame if you could lift it.
Uraisa Ellsworth |
Uraisa watches the others, quite impressed with the fiddle playing and dancing so far. Lifting that big, heavy weight wasn't her strong suit, so she continued to watch the display, some of her explosive magic ready to be brought out if necessary.
brvheart |
Tame consults his adviser Brod—the wan corpse hung up by his feet, "Are you bored Brod?". He animates the head to shake yes and Leialoha is tossed to the back of the crowd.
Leialoha |
Leialoha glares in Brod's direction, then pulls the bone spike from his nose and cheek and slowly grinds it into a tattoo of a fanciful tropical bird. A moment later, he flies up into the air above the scene. "Better." he mouths.
Nonlethal Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2) = 10
Concentration Check (vs. DC 18): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
Oro-Tu |
If suggested, Oro-Tu will move towards the weight. Taking a deep breath, sticking out his tongue and grunting several times, he works himself into a rage before attempting to lift the weight.
Is it based on max-press? 24 strength raging, can lift up to 1400lbs lol
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu grunts, handing the weight to the man next to him as if it was a child's toy, and moves up to his allies near Tame, still keeping a sharp watch on his surroundings for any sign of trouble.
I hope the guy next to me can lift it lol
brvheart |
He brings you food, wine, rum and whatever suits your fancy:) He dismisses the rest of the rabble with a wave of his one good hand.
Aurora Shadowbane |
I wont do it now because you guys are doing a great job, but if I get the opportunity, I will use my spell for restore corpes and then lesser regenerate to put his hand back. I also have a spell called skeleton crew if we get into trouble, got plenty of bodies to temporarily summon some skeletal sailors, spell only animates them a little while like a summoning spell. My god wont mind be borrowing the dead soldier so they can have there revenge if needed, just cant animate them permanently.

DESCRIPTION
You reconnect the subject’s severed body parts (hands, feet, arms, and legs), but only if the missing limb is present during casting. Multiple limbs can be reattached with a single casting of lesser regenerate. After the spell is cast, it takes 2d10 rounds for the limb to become useful again and for the negative effects of losing the limb to end. Lesser regenerate also rids the subject of exhaustion and/or fatigue, and eliminates all nonlethal damage the subject has taken. It has no effect on nonliving creatures (including undead).

That ought to pin him for awhile until four guys can lift it off of him!

As for a feast, A good Turkey Leg, Standing Rib, Venison Roast, Hams, Leg of Lamb, Wine, sweet breads, Fruit Cake, Pecan Pie, Honey mead, Corn Cobs, Exotic tropical fruits.
So, now we can eat, sounds good, whats on the menu
brvheart |
At least it is not "who's on the menu<G>!". They bring you and Ivar out a roasted boar on a platter.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
before the boar
Ivar stops clapping as he follows Oro-tu to the front, watching Oro-Tu's feat of strength, I'm glad he's on our side. Ivar applause loudly and congratulates Oro-Tu Truly impressive, it is an honor to be crewmates hearing Tame's invitation, having not done anything to earn the honor he takes a seat furthest from Tame.
after the boar is served
Using his Kurkri Ivar slices himself some boar and getting himself a flagon of ale he takes a seat, keeping a keen eye out for trouble
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Silas Frey |
Silas settles in, trying to present a comfortable air, whilst not trying to antagonise the Admiral. The man needs to be carefully dealt with so as to not provoke him.
"Thank you, Admiral, for allowing us to spend a little time in your company. I have recently acquired a ship and we wished to pay our respects before we sailed in this area."
brvheart |
Tame happily grants you free passage through the Turmoil, instructing his operatives to loan the PCs one of his Unseen to join your ship’s mast immediately.
Oro-Tu |
I assume that is after we put his hand back on, or was he just very pleased with the performance? Do we know what this unseen thing is
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
well, that was easier than I thought it would be, no blood shed at all, and the boar is delicious...I wonder what in blazes is an "unseen" ... since when do pirates have operatives. Kukri in one hand, mithral Dagger that Jalia hand given him in the other. Having just taken a large bite off of the dagger tip, when the admiral uses the term operatives. Ivar looks up, practically choking on his boar, he quickly washes it down with ale, using the flagon to hide his smirk.
brvheart |
It is an air elemental that will improve your sailing speed. No, I don't think you even got around to the hand unless you wish to. Beth and Silas did a great job with the DC30's! Silas who could not make a non-combat roll the rest of the game makes it when you really needed it!
Capt Mercy |
You get back to the ship and inform Capt. Mercy that you have obtained the desired permissioned and she is pleased. With that you head out of the Armada and may way.
"I'll give Beth here the marks to make the necessary course changes. We will making a few of them in case anyone gets any funny ideas and to throw Tame off our scent. Don't like that unseen. He can track us with it and spy on us, but guess we are stuck with it. We be heading SSE."
Beth, please make a couple of knowledge (geography) checks to navigate please.
Beth Macara |
Beth follows the directions of Capt Mercy, trying to keep track of their course so that she can mark their final destination on her charts.
Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
brvheart |
Excellent, it will take another day to arrive at your destination The Veiled Isle
brvheart |
There is just problem, at 1 there is another ship anchored there, The Greedy Gull.
