How to weaponize a raven?

I've got a PBP magus who has a raven. Definately liking the buring gaze idea.

Lots of great ideas...I myself never even got past the image of a raven somehow flying while wearing muleback cords, I suppose buffing up its birdly biceps so it can now carry, like, 15 pounds? (Strength 9 tiny creature carries...?).

But maybe try the new Called Shot rules in UC and see if it has a good chance now of pecking out the eyes of bigger creatures. Its size/dex bonus to attack and possibly bypassing natural armor and armor, if it's invisible and can get to the eyes, might be a nasty surprise, especially if it's got true strike or some nice attack buff. You could argue with GM that it has racial bonus to attack eyes, since, you know, that's what ravens always do in creepy movies.

Looking at rules for called shots...and...not good for the raven. So the dude's eye who has high AC but no helmet, I guess, has his armor bonus, etc., to the eye still? Hmmm. And the invisible raven pecking at the eye...would still have to get through DR, etc.,a nd hit at -10 even though he's sitting right there in front of it? I thought this was a good idea...but RAW, I don' think so now.

I had a character that would shoot 'message-arrows',with a tied note, as a ruse at Diplomacy into enemy camps...you guessed it, BOOM.

Raven: Deliver Touch spells... A pretty nifty option.

You sir win the internets on this topic.

Cast Shrink item on bombs (not grenades, siege bombs) Dismiss the spell when the raven drops them.

That was my thought. And unless you also boost him defensively, he ain't gonna last long.

Ideally he'll be flying above and far away. Though There are already a lot of spells to make him more defensive. Basically anything that the caster could cast on themselves.

Flying above and far away = you lose the benefits of the Alertness feat, you cannot use Share spells with your familiar, it cannot deliver a Touch spell for you and you cannot hear what it says.

Also, any spell you cast on your familiar :

1) needs to be cast before combat starts, ie no spells with short durations

2) is not available anymore to be cast on better targets (such as you and your allies)

Objects changed by a shrink item spell can be returned to normal composition and size merely by tossing them onto any solid surface

Ergo, deliberate dismissal is not required for bombing runs.

Have someone craft an amulet of enemy's heart for your raven and have it coup de grace enemies you paralyze.

If the burning eye lasers didn't scare your opponents, the little guy ripping open chests and eating hearts will.

Have the party alchemist implant bomb.

Only good for one use on the familiar.

Actually, this idea would make for a hilarious NPC encounter: mad alchemist using flocks of bomb implanted birds on the part.

Polymorph any object. Turn the raven into a phoenix. Or a roc.

I like the Wall of Sound variant better myself :)

Cast Wall of Sound on badguys, have raven fly above and pull the drawstring on a Bag of Holding filled with as many discreet objects as possible (Marbles or Mice, depending on how your GM feels about the requirements for triggering the 'touched' effect on the Wall and if it requires creatures), letting them fall into the wall, triggering a huge storm of "take 2d4 sonic damage".

Also works with a horde of trained birds. Just stuff 1000 trained doves into a Bag of Holding shaped like a hat, cast the wall, and grandiousely direct an epic eruption of birds into an explosion of meat and sound quite unlike anything your foe will have seen before!

As for the muleback cords idea, try casting ant haul (not 100% sure this would stack mind) to drop heavier stuff, or even pick up lighter enemies and drop them.
