I can't wait for some exploration/world building stuff. Something the last season seems that it was setting up to do but only did like 4-5 episodes with it.

Still, Season 5 delivered a lot of character development and dropped some interesting stuff they can build on. (Not bothering to spoiler most s5 stuff at this point. Probably only going to continue spoiler s5 finale info until s6 starts.)
Gonna be fun to see what the Crusaders will get up to now. Maybe we'll get a visit to Manehatten with them and a return of Babs Seed.
Hopefully we see Diamond Tiara again, and her struggles with being a better pony. Her story is likely not over. If they weren't at least wanting to do more with her, they wouldn't have bothered redeeming her. She would have just been shoved to the background and forgotten.

S6 speculation that is a spoiler:

I still suspect we'll see Sunburst come up again eventually. His design was too distinctive, and Starlight's story isn't done yet. It does seem like she's not in the premier, but it is about Twilight's family. Starlight probably doesn't feel like she is close enough to go.

I hope they go back to the old pony sisters castle again because they went to the trouble of cleaning the place up but gave Twilight her own castle instead. So hopefully they do something interesting with it.

I am wondering what the MLP movie will look like. Will it be the same flash animation or will it be the 3D CGI animation that most animated movies have now.

It'll be the flash style, it's the same people doing the work for the most part and I can't see them switching gears that much. Plus why create all new assets when you can just use the ones you currently have.

Actually it has never been stated that was what they were doing. It is the more likely thing to do but that doesn't mean that is what we are getting. Remember Hollywood thinks 3D animation is what sells these days.

Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree title officially confirmed. Just a bit of promo artwork, but I like Fluttershy's outfit. Considering the title and the crystals in the promo art... I wonder if they end up finding their world's Tree of Harmony?

Huh, so Babs is making an actual return to the story. Yeah, she was mentioned during Bloom and Gloom and had a background cameo in Made in Manehatten but it looks like we're actually seeing her again. It looks like CMC shenanigans in Manehatten are go. It is interesting that Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are with Babs, but no Apple Bloom. Dunno if it's just because they didn't want to crowd the image, or if it might be a plot point that Apple Bloom didn't get to go with them to Manehatten. Hope we get to see the other two members of the Manehatten CMC.

You know, I had a funny thought. What if it's the CMC that end up getting to visit some of these places in the Explore Equestria arc, not just the Mane 6? In other words, giving them their cutie marks was to explicitly move them up in the rank of plots that they can get involved with? (As long as they were obsessed with themselves, it did kind of limit what they could get into.)

I figured Sunburst would come up again during Season 6, but I wasn't expecting it to be in the premiere. Kind of sad that it seems Starlight meeting him again doesn't end well. Wonder if it'll work out in the end, or if she'll have to accept that their friendship really is dead and gone. Or worse, realize that Sunburst never viewed her as much of a friend at all. Considering Starlight's clear issues, I wonder if maybe she idealized Sunburst and their friendship way beyond what really existed.

Another Season 6 promo. No new scenes from the premiere, but it shows some stylized images of Equestria and beyond. Specifically calling out Ponyville, Manehatten, and the Dragonlands. (There's also a shot of Canterlot palace.) It's impressively animated and mostly new stuff.

I wouldn't put it past them to use it to drop some hints as well. Ponyville is a given since the show is primarily set there. We've had stuff about Manehatten in the other promos. The Dragonlands call out is new, but from the Toy Fair stuff there was supposedly a new dragon character shown off. Maybe Spike is going to get some real focus and story at last? (Sounds like Spike and the ponies may be making a trip to the Dragonlands.)

I really do hope that Spike will finally get some back story. Though you would have thought that Twilight or Spike would have asked Celestia about Spike's egg a long time ago.

Season 6 Episode 4 - "On Your Marks"

This episode promises to be interesting. I'm not surprised the CMC are finding themselves at a bit of a loss. They know their destinies now, but they still need to figure out how they're going to do it.

Season 6 Episode 5 - "Gauntlet of Fire"

I think this is the episode that surprises me most. It sounds like they may be finally setting Spike up with a proper story arc. Spike must compete to become Dragon Lord to save his friends... and this show is not generally one to give titles and forget them. Especially since we've heard there's a new dragon character and dragons were in the animatic for the Hearth's Warming Eve episode. Spike has sorely needed something beyond his crush on Rarity and being Twilight's assistant/little brother.

EDIT: And one more that's title only Season 6 Episode 6 - "No Second Prances" Have no guesses at all what that could be about.

To be honest I wish Spike would give up his crush on Rarity and pic a pony close to his own age like Sweetie belle.

I would be very happy if they finally gave us some character background for Spike.

So apparently they Trademarked the new Guardians of Harmony side thing for an animated series. It was noted that the trademarking etc is following the same pattern setup by EQG initially.

Three possibilities come to mind.

1. EQG like made for tv films
2. Parallel show running in tandem with MLP:FIM
3. Gen 4.5 show replacing FIM

Not sure what to think of this yet..I am curious as to what the execution of the hook will be.

Poor Starlight. She definitely looks uncomfortable. I am curious about what this lesson Twilight is intending to teach her. Do Twilight and Starlight already know Sunburst is there? Is Twilight intending for her to talk to him and finally clear the air? Or is it just Starlight not feeling like she should be there.

I hope Starlight Glimmer is only in a couple episodes.
