That was going to be my question: Are you talking how much we spend on gaming stuff, or do you want to know people's total cost of living?
I'd be happy to share the former, but the latter is private, and I won't be sharing that on a public messageboard.
On any given month, I usually spend somewhere between $50 and $200 on gaming stuff.
(According to my last credit card statement, I spent about $400 in Dec/Jan, although $150 of that was backing Richard Pett's The Blight Kickstarter and $85 was for the three 5e core books.)

I live on disability, and after the cost of Medicaid is taken out, I draw $963 dollars a month. A MONTH. I live below the poverty level for even a single person. After paying my bills I often have less than $70 to live on for the rest of the month. I get food stamps to supplement that, but I still have to have help from my ex wife from time to time. Fortunately, we're on very good terms and she understands the hard time I have getting by. The vast majority of my PF library comes from the kindness of friends.

Yeah, not really comfortable sharing info about my financial situation with the internet at large.
In terms of what I spend on RPG related stuff... I'll go months at a time without purchases and then splurge. CanCon was on a few weeks back, which is my big yearly spend for it. $800 in a day on RPG stuff and some boardgames.

One of my players lives rent free, has all of her food provided by someone else, and has no money to spend. She doesn't even clean up after herself.
Well, I call her a player but all she really does is push pencils around and get the dice rolling. No roleplaying to speak of.
(I'm talking about my cat)

At least she keeps herself clean. (I hope.)
I'm not entirely sure how much I spend on gaming stuff, which tells me that it's not more than a few % of my takehome pay. OK, there was that metal dice KS I backed for over $400 a few months ago, but that included at least a few dice for seven other people. (Loving Spouse teaches HS chemistry and physics, and will have the use of the nerdiest set of density blocks in existence. None of these cubes--d20s in standard plastic, magnesium, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, copper, and tungsten.)

Dangit. Now I want Chinese food.
I just figured up the cost of the four books I want this year, all of them hardcover because I don't care for large .pdfs nor do I have the means to effectively take them to a game (desktop PC. No laptop or tablet). To some, it's just pocket change. To me, it's a phenomenal sum.
Yeah, pity party in progress. And I'm outta cheese. All I got is whine.

Been there, done that, and yeah--it really sucks. Though it's been quite a while since I had to deal with that level of enforced economy.

As a rather new GM, the last year I spent roughly 30$ per month on Paizo PDFs. I guess it will drop, in favor of collecting pawns.
Yes, the question was rather about total expenses, but I don't want to answer that. Keep also in mind not everyone here is from the US - other countries have a lower or higher living standard.
