Because it's almost certainly too late for Bestiary 3. :)

To start: Recent discussion of ghost ships indicates that there's a niche for skeletons and zombies that, while not necessarily any tougher than standard issue, retain skill ranks and can be commanded to perform profession- and maybe even craft-related tasks. Sailor dead, that sort of thing. (Could easily be a variant, just a couple of paragraphs in the back of the book.)

I'm assuming we'll see demodands sometime soon, but... there have only ever been three kinds, and the other fiends keep getting additions to their ranks, so... New demodands please!

RPG Superstar monsters. The Hunger that Moves deserves an official writeup!

I want see an undead that retains the powers of when he was alive and can be reanimated with create undead, like the bone and corpse creature from the book of the vile darkness

the Nosferatu that is an evolution of a vampire like the Demilich to a Lich

Huh? Thought I'd skipped a year for a second there.

Theres actually quite a few undead that retain skills and skill ranks.
The suffix 'Lord' tends to let ya get the best of both worlds there. (zombie lord, skeleton lord etc). Of course then theres Ghouls, Draugr and Wights. All of which I've used in wrecks and ghost ships over the years. The low CR makes en ideal.

But hey, does anyone remember Ibexians? Also called Goatmen? Or Gruffs.
Used em in a game once in a Chaos beastmen kinda vein (was into warhammer at the time). After reading the dresden files I reckon they'd work as bigger badass cousins to the Fey Satyrs. Then apply the giant template every time they get 100 years older.
Mighr be cool in a campaign where you defeat a bunch of em every bow and again, and their bigger brothers seek you out on occasion. And their bigger brothers? Huge greataxe anyone (goes to stat up).

Nosferatu is already covered in Pathfinder as plague-related protovampire. Huh, strange, I thought it was updated to PF from 3.5 in Bestiary 2 but it wasn't. Maybe it will be covered in Bestiary 3.

Not that some kind of uber-vampire couldn't be done in B4, it would just need a new name.

The Berbalang (if it isn't in Bestiary 3) - an old White Dwarf/Fiend Folio monster. I always liked the concept, but I'm not sure if its WotC intellectual property.

This is a pointless wishlist until we know for sure what is in the Beastairy 3. With that being said...

-More creatures from myth

-More Cryptids

-More creatures from old editions of D@D

-More creatures from the APs

-More creatures from literature

-More animals/vermin(both modern and ancient)

-More cool original creatures

Robots. They've been a part of D&D since the begining, they exist in Pathfinder (in Numeria). I say we need stats for them.

Robots would be awesome! Also other stuff to tie into "Distant Worlds" material.

Have they published the list of B3 critters yet?

Cryptids, monsters from urban legends, and more "real mythological" creatures, preferably statted and illustrated to reflect the descriptions depicted in sightings and beliefs. No more spiky-backed mini-dinosaur chupacabras, please.

Ah, but Paizo already knows what's in B3, so I figured we should start a new thread for making our preferences known for the next one(preferably in such a way as to entertain and not annoy, of course). If anything shows up here that's already planned for B3, no harm done, I'd think.

I think there's been a Pathfinder update of the nosferatu somewhere. Maybe in Carrion Crown?

I need stats for some of my polyurethane statues. Cthulhu, King Kong, the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man, etc..

War apes! We need war apes.

Mutant creatures would be cool. You can have a mutant version of just about anything.

The demonic idol from the cover of 1st edition's PHB.

More gremlins!

And where, oh where, did the jakalope bounce off to?

More Spawn of Rovagug.

Epic monsters. Which means, of course, we'd need epic rules. Which means we won't see them next year. Maybe in Bestiary 5. :)

+1

For the canonical fearsome creature of the night, vampires tend to be pretty fragile compared to other undead. I think Dicefreaks did a good job with this.

Classic Horrors Revisited didn't do as much to help this as I was hoping. The swarm form ability is okay, but most of the other abilities don't do much to help them out.

Speaking of which, a swarm template and a multi-headed template would be awesome. I really miss the multi-headed template from Savage Species.

What ever happened to the MANES? The Abyssal guys that were the Lemures equivalent. Why have Manes been replaced by Dretch?

Is it something in the OGL or is there just no love for the little CR1 demon guys?

I could just as easily draft up rules for some of these guys myself, but I wouldn't mind seeing Paizo versions of:

The Squonk, a drippy, ugly swamp creature capable of dissolving into a puddle at will.

The Hodag, a vicious, forest-dwelling spiky dog-beast.

The Dingonek, a giant, jungle-dwelling, sting-tailed reptilian.

Or the Wolpertinger, which is simply adorable.

Also, can Paizo use the mooncalf or is that off limits?

The hodag was done in Pathfinder #32, and like all the monsters in the Pathfindner AP Bestiaries, it gets two pages.

Manes were not part of the SRD, nor were they in the Tome of Horrors. The Tome of Horrors did have the Nupperibo, which is the devil-equivalent of a Manes (i.e. subdevils, as Manes were subdemons), as well as the Abyssal Larva, which is sort of a subdemon.

OK but how can they be copyrighted? Manes is from Mythology. I don't think WOTC can make a case for them.

Liberty's Edge

Im not familiar with the PF monsters yet..

These ideas may be eccentric..

But I would like to see things that flow through mirrors, ice, glass and other reflective surfaces "Tremors" style.

Jellyfish.

Sentient Diseased Mold.

Terminator 2 style robot cyborgs that can shapeshift doppleganger style.

Spider like humanoids "Chitine".

Sentient stones that can roll and crush when threatened.

"The Thing" style creatures.

Shadow monsters that replace your shadow that can strangle and drain hp.

Sentient objects like brooms, kitchen knives, forks, and furniture Evil Dead style.

Large slugs that leave a trail of slippery slime on dungeon floors, emit a toxic fume, and shoot poisonous barbs.

Slender Man style forest monster that kinaps, disembowels and eats towns people.

Zombie-Werewolf-Lich-Vampire hybrids

Water that reverses your position and glasses over when touched to drown the pc and attempt to absorb him/her.

Why do you specifically want a Slender Man? I vaguely remember a reference to a slender man in a carrion crown AP, but it might have been something else. Or was it Rise of the Runelords? but I can't figure out any horror trope of a SLender Man. Is it from Thinner?

Yep that's where I saw it! Many thanks!

Better copyright that slender man then before everyone gets hold of it!

Brain-devouring puppies? No thanks. I can't stand them since AD&D 2nd edition Monster Manual. Why the hell WotC could not make Intellect Devourer their IP instead of Mind Flayer? :(

Aberzombie wrote:

Yup. More of Lovercraftian creatures! Ia! Ia! Fthagan! Yum-yum! (ok, I would like to see more shadow-related creatures and more fey too).

Dire Weasels, and then some more, please!

More CR 21+ Monsters.

(my "mythic" subconscious)

I would like to see a CR 20 Prothean... the highest CR in the Bestiary for one is 17, which puts them behind the other major Outsiders.

I'd also like to see some lower-CR Nightshades.

There should be a monster--or an entire group of monsters--that were created for the sole purpose of serving as familiars.

A Lovecraftian horror made available as a familiar.

Some more of the existing categories--Azatas, Gremlins, Aeons, Hags, Oni, Angels, etc.

More class-level-based monsters, for the players.

Dragons. Gotta have more dragons. Never enough dragons.

A snake-dragon.

An elemental of Fire and Water (that has nothing to do with steam).

Oriental-type dragons.

Some weaker Linnorms.

Things of such utter and incomprehensible horror that the book, unable to contain the squamous and eldritch nature of such wretched images, will twist and turn in my hands in foul rage, an protestation that eyes were NOT MEANT TO SEE the ancient, abominable things within, inimical to all life. If I do not go mad reading about them, I will not be satisfied.

Raw God-stuff, taking on a form of its own independent of any deity.

Fey of the cities.

An undead that isn't evil--or at least, that is evil but can get along. I'm pretty certain my barber is evil, but I haven't tried to smite him yet--why can't an undead be the same?

Constructs that a low-level magic-worker could create.

A monster formed from botched alchemy, that isn't an ooze.

An intelligent ooze that hides inside dead (or living) bodies and makes them move around in an attempt to mimic real people which it so desperately wants to be.

A construct that wants to become a real boy.

A monster that is very romantic.

Dire Chihuahua.

More Dire animals in general.

A dragon with feathers.

A horrific eldritch abomination that is really a very nice and pleasant, good aligned crusader.

An Angel or Archon that is focused on powers of darkness and night.

An armor construct that you wear.

A spider that spins webs made of blood.

A scorpion-like magical beats with a huge sword for a stinger, that changes the material that composes its body in accordance with its surroundings (not merely camouflage--actually different composition).

Magical creatures that would make good family pets.

Monsters inspired by modern fiction -- Pygmy Puffs, Dementors, Skrewts, Inferius (Harry Potter), Darkspawn, Grolm, Korlm, Ogier (Wheel of Time), Husk, Varren, Klixen, Thorian (Mass Effect), Angels (Evangelion), Chaos Things (Warhammer), Ssi-Ruuk, Wampa, Mynock, Tentacle Bird of Pelemax, Gundark, Krakana, Bantha (Star Wars), Necromorphs (Dead Space), amongst any of a thousand thousand thousand other amazing ideas.

Starfish, Anglerfish, Hamsters, Shrimp (see the Bullet shrimp! Awesome), Lobsters, Ostrich (they are related to the Tyrannosaurus!).

Beings called into existence by instabilities in time and space

Cerberus/Erebus, or otherwise multi-headed power-dog.

Variant Elementals (Carbon, Zinc, Helium, Einsteinium, Plutonium, Radium, etc.)--that can only be "summoned" by an Alchemist or a mage with high ranks in Craft (alchemy), but that are actually only temporarily existing things that cease to be animated after a short period of time.

Cyborgs, or otherwise a mix of construct and organic.

More fey - Sidhe, Sluagh, etc.

A more classically fey player race than the belovedly eccentric gnome.

Fairy Godmother.

Ouroboros

A mushroom that, like cordyceps (but on a much more horrific scale) grows inside of and mind-controls humanoids.

More monsters from non-European mythology.

Rodents of Unusual Size.

A sentient disease.

A Slender Man monster! Also, more creepypasta type things.

Small things, resembling shards of glass floating through the air, or cracks on a wall that exist floating in space, that are actually sentient remnants of those realms of existence that came before the current one. They show images, flashes of existence and memories, that cause physical pain.

Silver Crusade

Ugly/scary celestials.

More alien-looking player-appropriate races.

Like a homonculis?

More types of Nagas

More types of Homonculi

More types of small or smaller size dragons

Symbiotic creatures(both to other creatures and ones for humaniods)

the Gorgimera

the Guivre(serpantine dragon that poisnous and poisons water that lives in, lives in wells, lakes, etc.)

the Gorynych(dragon with three wolf like heads)

something like King kong

Kercpa(small size humanoid squirel)

Humaniod wolf race that is playable as a character

Creatures native to the positive energy planes, plane of time, and other planets

creatures that feed on emotions(some good and some not)

creatures that are romantic or love humaniods as lovers, children, or pets

Achiyalabopa rainbow colored bird with knife like feathers said to be a celestial creature

Sczarni

Pretty much anything that Epic Meepo has been cooking up in his thread in the Suggestions/Homebrew forum.

More golems! Specifically, some Small golems who might have a lower CL, and be a little more obtainable as far as a PC building their own. Maybe some sort of "disposable" golem made to be cheap and do a quick task without hassle?

More creatures that live in urban environments, at various CLs. If a campaign takes place mostly in a city, where the good roleplaying is, there should still be some decent monsters to fight, right?

More creatures that deal INT, WIS, or CHA damage... and more types of insanity (See the GameMaster Guide on Sanity and Madness) to inflict on a player who hits zero.

Life Elementals

Almiraj one horned rabbit

Aliens(Greys)

Orthrus two headed dog beast

Plant creatures that are humaniod(some playable)

creatures that have and/or grant good luck

Alraune maneating(or bloodsucking) plant creature upper body a young woman lower of a flower
