Starting on Monday, and every weekday for the next year Rite Publishing will give away one product a day (PDF or Print) to one lucky winner chosen by me. Sometimes responses will be judged, sometimes the winner will be selected at random.

What product do you think we should start off with?

101 New Skill Uses.

I'd love to get a free copy of this. :) Of course I suppose I could just pony up the dough and buy it too.

30 Not So Mundane Items

Or start big with The Breaking of Forstor Nagar (with a Collector of Limbs instead of the rhemoraz!

You should! It's incredible.

Fridays: Coliseum Morpheon

If that doesn't draw people to you nothing will :D

Oh this is great!

You folks have a bunch of books on my to buy list. Pretty much all your "101" books I have the intention to get eventually. If I was going to pick just one to start off with, I think I'll echo MendedWall and suggest 101 New Skill Uses. That book looks fantastic.

Kudos to you guys! Great idea.

Already on there and has been for awhile.

O.o Did you just gift it to me? Wow! Thanks! :D

Both of you enjoy, and consider a review! (Note: I had exceedingly little to do with this product)

Ummmm... You single-handedly just restored my faith in all humanity. Obviously Cheapy is an ironic avatar, because you, sir, are not cheap.

Thank you very much! I'll put it to good use, trust me!

That was the pinnacle of customer service!

Although looking it over Coliseum Morpheuon sounds impressive for a giveaway, it's a pretty big ticket item. I'd say any of the multi-use (not singular class) 101 items, such as Skill Uses, Feats and Monster Feats, would all be winners. What's my criteria? I wouldn't mind winning them and I think that there's a wide audience for any of them.

Liberty's Edge

This is a really cool promotion. And that was really cool of you cheapy.

101 skill uses or in the company of monsters.
I think these would would the best to start off with!

I forgot to do this early this morning due to my wife being ill. So this will run till Tuesday at midnight Tell me why you like Rite Publishing. We will choose the ones we like best and then select a random winner.

The prize? A Print and PDF copy of 101 New skill Uses (we pay the shipping!).

Where do we send this? PM on Paizo.com? An E-Mail? Some other site?

You can post it right here, on our facebook page, our twitter page, or my google+ page.

Hrm, alright then.

I'm still relatively new to the whole '3PP' scene. I was (and still am, to a degree) apprehensive about what I buy and from whom. I bought my first Rite Publishing product because a friend of mine was interested in the options it had and I still had a little bit of money left over from that month's "fun time" fund. After buying it, I wish I had discovered Rite Publishing sooner. The product had wonderful formatting and style, and every rule in the book was not only balanced, but more importantly, it was interesting!

However, few products are perfect and as a consumer I've always felt it was my duty to contribute towards making products better. Much to my surprise, my suggestions were listened to and in some cases implemented in a revised copy of the product. I promptly went out to the local print shop with a copy of the revised rules and printed the document out, thrilled with the results. It's very refreshing to see companies that listen to and care about their companies, and that's why I like Rite Publishing.

Also, it was awesome to get a shout-out in the broadcast E-Mail :).

Fairly new to 3PP scene as well, but the main reason I really like Rite Publishing is that your work has excellent content, the balancing is very well done, and the company (and even its fans) are quick to answer questions and help out when you need. When I had a question about a particular magic property within a day I had a response. That's just great!

Additionally I find the content itself is very open and useful to just about everyone. I'm in love with the 101 series for the multitude of options it gives me as a DM. Why have a regular old +1 Flaming sword when you can have weapons that hex your foes, leave them with maiming wounds, or teleport them into a wall after you strike them?

Scarab Sages

I thought I would post the facebook responses thus far:

John E Raymond: I like RP because you support the game I love...and you get out more stuff I can use or get ideas from than most of the other PF publishers out there. Plus...your stuff is mostly balanced so that I don't have to make a bunch of changes to allow things.

Fernando Pajares: Because you come up with products I didn't know I needed until you made them (like the 101 Skill Uses one)

Stephen Gaston: I like you guys because if I didn't, Robert would kick my ass...

Fiach Smyth: I'm going to echo John: Too many third-party producers of expansion content try to create uber-builds, over-the-top power combinations, or, at the least, don't consider how their content, if added to a regular game with the regular ruleset, can break or unbalance play. Rite content can generally be added straight into the mix with the core rules without you having to do extensive playtesting or modding just to make sure the content actually works. You guys focus on expanding the usefulness of existing content rather than trying to own the game.

Much like others, I'm relatively new to 3PP, but I like Rite because (much like Super Genius Games) there is a great combination of quality of product and hitting where I feel I "need" extra options. The 101 series is certainly one of my favorites--although I've only actively used the Spells piece. I've had my eye on other intriguing items, such as NPC Boons and NPC Grudges. Items like this give a boost to what the GM is most needed for in a game: storytelling and creativity (not juggling rules and tracking mechanical bonuses, even though those are important.)

Also, let's be honest--Pathways is just incredibly awesome and would be worth paying something nominal for, and yet it's free. That is a dedication to the hobby.

Everyone should be aware of this giveaway - Rite Publishing is just that awesome in what they produce.

I think this should be weekly. Less work that way!

My Group just plays with the basics (Core, Advanced, Bestiary I+II, Ultimate Combat and Magic) but is getting more and more off the mainroad - we getting interrested in 3PP stuff and looking for good (and especially useful!) stuff.

The only of your products I know is the '30 not so mundane items', but after reading it I know we need more of these rules.
Good quality and many ideas our group will never have on its own.

I'm still disappointed that there's no Torch of dragon-taming. I mean, look at the cover! That old lady is taming a dragon with her torch.

Too mundane, seen it a hundred times. Heck, sometimes we come across fighters that are dual wielding them. ;)

Today's Give away is Fantastic Maps: The Dragon's Lair PDF map pack all I ask for is your random thoughts on cartography.

The 101 Skill uses seems to be the most popular item.

Yes but I can't give away all the good stuff at the start, I have a whole year to do this :)

Ah, cartography. It's definitely a skill that one must perfect; I've thrown out hundreds of maps of my campaign world, and it's only a single continent so far! It's not a skill that anyone should try to hone on their own through trial and error; look up some guides or whatnot (the Cartographer's Guild has some amazing ones), but once you get the hang of it and possess the right tools, you can sit back at your work and be really proud of what you've created.

Not even angling for a prize here, but Cartography is probably the single most underestimated skill for players going into D&D/Pathfinder type games. GMs need it in order to design effective maps (or even control established ones from adventures); players need them in order to keep track of where they've been and not (woe be to the party who has neglected to keep a good map and suddenly needs to beat a hasty retreat in the middle of the dungeon.) I forget what the magic item is that automatically draws a map for PCs (or is it a spell), but whatever wizard invented that needs a raise.

Liberty's Edge

I hate maps. I hate making them especially. I have the artistic talent of a dead duck (and really, that's almost an insult to dead ducks). I've tried a few free hand and I've done one in paint, I'm considering map tools just so I can see how bad I can butcher it.

Woohoo!

Thanks! :) Email was sent. You guys rock!

As for the topic, can second ShadowcatX's comment. I'm terrible at drawing maps. I can plan them out pretty well, but when players try interpret them is where it gets ugly.

Hmm, comes with files for maptools? That's pretty cool...

I believe it's the autonomous cartographer from APG, but I'll go check on that.

Hmm, right name, wrong book. It's from Seekers of Secrets :)

Every Weekday Giveaway Contest: Today is In The Company of Minotaurs; to qualify just give us a Minotaur pun!

I will announce the winner on monday, so you have the whole weekend!

you want a pun on a Minotaur, and not a Mini-taur right?

Scarab Sages

When the Minotaur saw his new home, he was a-mazed. (I know I'm not in the running, but I failed my Will save vs. puns and couldn't help it.)

Have you seen any of the 3 stooges stuff it has some great puns.

Moe asking Curly what he's doing and replies
"I'm shaving the ice" (while shaving the ice as if it had a beard)

Curly reading a cook book aloud and following the instructions
"Two potatoes Diced" (them throws them like dice) - Curly Joe Howard

That and some Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielsen movies, have some great puns.
