Thanks all, though frankly I'm just looking forward to it being over.

Wait, the final, or the combat???

Please let it be the final! ;)

The final, of course.

Note to all

Well - I think after this battle I'm going to have to toss out some extra special bonus points for you guys - things to help your characters besides just simple XP.

I hope you like the bonus additions - they will effect you in-game - look for the update soon!

F Elf Spellbinder Conjuration (teleport) Wiz 1

With an extra level I'd have fireballs. Just saying. :-)

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Just wanted to wish our hardworking GM a very happy birthday. Hip Hooray!

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

The two names proposed for the ex-Stag Lord's fortress in Saravale are:

1. Frostfell Keep
2. Winter Ridge Keep.

Can you guys tell me which you would rather so we can finally name the fortress and make it official? Thanks. :)

Sadly, you forgot -

Bartleby Rowan's Rollicking Lakeside Shanty
Big Brett's Beautiful Basecamp
Summertime Glade

- or (according to Anuk-su - translated from the ancient tongue)

Cloudwatch Keep

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Cloudwatch Keep it is then. It just took forever to get the answer from dear Anuk-Su Seti. ;p

"What? It is the time to move forward, not backward - upward, not downward - and always flying high to victory. I submit, then - that to be mired in the past is a foolish thing, rather; we should look to greater moments - therefore, as a formal title for the humble fortress I can think of no better title then Anuk-su Setiville. Come, now - what say thee?"

F Elf Spellbinder Conjuration (teleport) Wiz 1

You could always give it to your resident mage and call it the SIlverfall Keep/The Elven Enclave ;-)

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

All Hail the team players! ;)

Hey! I can plug my own stuff - let me know what you think...

Well done on the article! I had fun reading it. :)

F Elf Spellbinder Conjuration (teleport) Wiz 1

Dain,

I'm off all next week and will have a lot of extra time. I was hoping to do a side quest of some kind for Shaezon, and any who might accompany him. Fun, beign the main purpose, but enough loot to craft some boots of levitation and enough XP to get to 5th levvel would be pleasant and most welcome side effects. ;-)

Several side quests will be coming - short and to the point, hopefully. The last mission - visiting Oleg and dealing with the trolls - I really didn't expect, plan or hope that it would take more then two nights via Skype - possibly three nights at most.

All bonus's in treasure and so forth were built around that theory, hence why they seemed rather "low". For though you did fight quite an "army" of enemies - in the end your real fight was with some half-orcs, trolls, and a few half-ogres. No one personally took the battle to the enemy, except Ariarh - and she will be rewarded for it - but with Social RP bonuses later.

Recently I have been persuaded to change my policy of giving XP due to completing tasks rather then defeating enemies, per se. This gives players the chance to have more fun slaughtering villians - but without dealing with the minutia of calculated XP - also, if a player cannot make it to a game for a Skype session - they are not penalized XP because of this.

Quests give very specific bonuses to players - which will be shown before the quest. So, if you are not as interested in the bonus, there's no reason to go questing.

However, Shaezon - you are behind the other in XP and level. This will change soon - there a few quests up for grabs which will bump up your level - though the others will still be lagging a bit behind.

That said - I shall also be posting a new list of "bonuses" and what they give you soon. While I'm at it - if I send someone a Word Document, is there any way they can convert it to a hyperlink so that people can clink the link and read the document? I am going to start posting such things on the Main Page's description.

Okay - that's pretty much it for now... Look for new quests soon - and rewards to accompany them.

New quests coming soon - keep an ear cocked and eye peeled for them on the main board....

F Elf Spellbinder Conjuration (teleport) Wiz 1

Hey Dain, Can I mulligan slightly and make myself a conjuration (teleport school) specialist?

I'll drop Imp Initiative and Necromancy and Enchantment will be my prohibited schools.

It's a mechanical change, but not a RP one.

possibly - I'll need to think about it as you just sprung it on me. How about - if you do so - it kicks when you level up? By the way - that should be fairly soon - presuming you make your Fort save...

Well, so much for that. lol. How about Mister picks up Shaezon's spell books and start studying. That could be an interesting character.

oh dear, Alaric must have failed his will-save...

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Ariarh has her suspicions and will be role playing it out soon. There will be a new posting on this tonight from me. I need to go and sort out dinner and such.

Alaric - fail... Never... He cannot fail - he shall not fail... He shall have power unlooked for - and.... None may stand against him.... But failure? Nay, divorce that thought from thy mind... Such a thing for good Alaric - dear Alaric... precious Alaric.... No, no... he did not fail... He was won a great triumph - that I promise thee....

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Hey Guys, Ariarh should really go find Anuk-Su and mend bridges and find a safe place for her. Perhaps the investigation of the strange robed people and trying to break the curse etc can be left in the hands of Kae, Brett, Shaezon and possibly Arasmes if he is so inclined? Ariarh is not versed in curses so her time be better spent protecting the silver wyrmling (perhaps with the aid of Lady Turon).

We need to get riders out into the village, take a good look around and search for Sylvath and his order of silver kobolds.

What do you think?

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

GM, it would seem the most appropriate action for Ariarh to go with Lady Turon as soon as possible to find Anuk-Su. If the child is indeed in danger then Ariarh may want to spirit her from the Fortress and take her to the Banks' home or the Grear's -- people she trusts. She might even choose to find a hiding place within the keep so if Alaric does come for Anuk-Su she can hide. Then again they may come up with a strategy to have Anuk-Su remain at the fortress in order to make Alaric believe they still have confidence in him whilst planning in secret.

No worries - like I said - the conversation with Anuk-su can happen whenever you prefer - provided it is before sundown. The time is roughly noon at this point.

So, do whatever you feel is best at this time!

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Aye, it will be before sundown. I'll post as soon as I can.

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Perhaps I will wait to see if Shaezon reveals the information about the ring before leaving the chamber with Lady Turon.

Shae, are you going to tell the rest of us what your "findings" are? :)

Male Half-Elf Invulnerable Rager 2/Crossblooded Envenomed+Draconic Sorcerer 1/ Trapper Ranger 1/Rage-Vivisectionist 2/Dragon Disciple 1

i'd say Kae can step away from the social goings on with the group and take care of security of the city, as the other martials have left, and he's technically the arden at the moment.

I'll post up his plan soon, but am pretty wiped out right now. gaming is tough when you don't sleep for a few dayzzzzzzzzz.........

Brett has volunteered, in a round-about way - to show you to the laundry for a massage.

But naturally, as warden of the city - you recall on your journey up through the village in the plains - the area that housed the laundry looked like it had been substantially rebuilt - and it also looked like it had been burned out and has guards around it.

You wonder, then, if Brett was suggesting you go check this out - see what is going on - after all - the entire slum that Grishnak lived is now completely gone - seems as if the fire wiped it out completely.

As Warden you're cunning enough to guess Brett is being deliberately vague about his plans with you at this time. It's almost as if he doesn't want the new people in the room to know his plans....

That said, if you are prepared to come with him - Brett will take you into the town.

Meanwhile - Kae - if you're feeling overwhelmed, it's understandable - if you cannot post because you need some time, that's fine. If you could give me an ETA on when you're ready to go, that would be really great. Thanks!

Male Half-Elf Invulnerable Rager 2/Crossblooded Envenomed+Draconic Sorcerer 1/ Trapper Ranger 1/Rage-Vivisectionist 2/Dragon Disciple 1

I'll jump on late tonight or tomorrow morning with more ideas abour what Kae'll be doing whilt others are doing the crazy king stuff

Gentlemen - I feel that there's been a lot of posting - perhaps it is overwhelming, I know I like to write, but I don't want anyone to feel like there is "too much" going on.

At this time I'm curious to know - and please be as direct and honest - what I can do to make the game better for "YOU". I know that answer will be different for each person, but I want to make the game for fun for each of you - toss me up things you'd like to see, and I'll get to work on them as soon as I can.

That said - one of the plans "Lord Winter" put into effect was a way for the town to earn money by selling legal licenses for "Bounty Hunters" (apparently Alaric feels that you do need that scum!) - each license is 200 GP each - so far it costs you nothing until they start bringing back bounties - then you need to pay up!

Though this will cost you in the long run (possibly) it does two things -

1. Gets you ready coin now.

2. Even if the Hunters are successful, it only means they have "gotten rid of" something that was a threat.

- But here's the rub: what would your council consider "a threat"?

Alaric, in his more lucid moments - would naturally have made this plan with your considerations in mind. He did not "lose it" until after these ideas happened.

The question is - what would your ideas have been?

In this case I am going to allow you to each make a "ret-con" decision on what Alaric would have made bounties on - as if you, the council would have been there to decide

(Logan - you are free to offer your vote at this time as "Alaric" - even though you are no longer playing him, you know what he would have done when it came to picking those who bounties would have gone for).

Some examples include -

Bandits
Wandering monsters (trolls, ogres, whatever you like on that account)
Wild animals (bears, wolves, and so forth).
Magical animals (Dire Bears, Werewolves, and so on).

You can also stipulate whether you want them "dead or alive" or what.

Again - this will get you money now, but it will cost you money later - but as it DID happen, you have the choice to pick what kind of things bounties would have been hunted for - you should also know if they are legitimate threats - if a Hunter can take down a troll (for example) - well, that's one less Troll you need to take down.

That said - I look forward to your posts.

F Elf Spellbinder Conjuration (teleport) Wiz 1

Bounty hunting is a slippery slope. FOr example one might say Kobolds are "wandering monsters." Yet we have a good silver one in out midst. Better than bounty hunters would be to have an organization of fighters, Magi, and druids to scout the wild areas. It's minimal damage, with maximum effect. In such a situation you can have protocols the you could not with random bounty hunters of varying degrees of ethical behavior. The elves have something similar known as The Green Watch. It's part of what allows the elves to live in harmony with the surrounding creatures and nature.

Shaezon doesn't get a vote, but this will be his advice.

F Elf Spellbinder Conjuration (teleport) Wiz 1

I'd like to go on a mission of some kind with Shaezon. Loot and XP!

Male to kill the six fingered man Duelist/20 years

I think the best way to do that would be to have like a bounty hunter guild or something, that way we dont have a ton of individuals running around and can keep track a bit better of who is doing what. Also Alaric would have been against issuing blanket bounties for creatures in favor of specific bounties for individuals or groups of known problems. For instance he would not want a bounty on wolves if they havent been causing problems.

Yea, that.

posting bounties on specific individuals at a specific place. So we need to investigate what's been causing problems, na post the appropriate bounties.

Since they've been licensed, there should be a registry, So if we create a centralized office that takes care of bounties we should be good.

Blanket bounties on Trolls, Ettins, and such are dangerous.
Standing bounty on fiends, actual devils, not tieflings or half-breads. Just actual devils. Devil-binders are wanted alive, to be executed after trial. Kae don't like fiends.

Male Half-Elf Invulnerable Rager 2/Crossblooded Envenomed+Draconic Sorcerer 1/ Trapper Ranger 1/Rage-Vivisectionist 2/Dragon Disciple 1

I've got a question abotu a Discovery that i can take next level.

d20pfsrd.com wrote:
Tentacle: The alchemist gains a prehensile, arm-length tentacle on his body. The tentacle is fully under his control and cannot be concealed except with magic or bulky clothing. The tentacle does not give the alchemist any extra attacks or actions per round, though he can use it to make a tentacle attack (1d4 damage for a Medium alchemist, 1d3 damage for a Small one) with the grab ability. The tentacle can manipulate or hold items as well as the alchemist’s original arms can (for example, allowing the alchemist to use one hand to wield a weapon, the tentacle to hold a potion, and the third hand to throw a bomb). Unlike an arm, the tentacle has no magic item slots.

So since it says i get to make a tenticle attack with the Grab ability, does that mean that i can use it with my natural attack routine as a tentacle attack (secondary natural attack) when i make a full attack? Seems like it should work that way.

Also I'd like to flavor it as a tail, and the Nat Armor bonus i get from my mutagen to be caused by scales on the theme of my Draconic bloodline having the mutagen tap into that

Heh - I was actually going to suggest a tail as the tentacle - for some reason it makes me think of NightCrawler in the X-men movie - holding the dagger with his tail... Mutagen is a temporary advantage, if I'm not mistaken for natural armor - but when it kicks in (temporary or not) you will see a solidifying of skin, not unlike thin supple scales.

But! The trade-off is this - as that happens the pupils of your eyes begin to change - they become more "serpent" or "reptilian-like", as a dragon would.

So you'd basically be getting "Snake Eyes" as your dragon part becomes more real and obvious.
