As I mentioned in the other Sask. thread, due to some unforseen circumstances there is a very strong chance I'll be moving to Regina come Jan or Feb of 2012.
So I wanted to reach out and test the water a bit. Any gamers or groups in the area on these boards?
I can play or DM, I have some decent experience in each, though most of it is in the 3.0/3.5 ed. of D&D and I am still learning all the changes to the Pathfinder rules. Besides that, I've played Shadowrun and D&D 4th Ed some and wouldn't mind either though Pathfinder is my personal preference now and what holds my interest the most.
Hope to hear from some of you and thanks for reading!

Currently in Regina and wouldn't mind getting some PFS games going!
It's been a while since I've done any face to face gaming (mostly skype+maptools or play-by-post). I'm fine with DMing or playing.

New to D&D, learning 4th ed... So hooked, just wondering how it all works over skype
Sorry, missed this reply!
The skype part is purely for talking. It's really the maptools program that makes skype games work. It's a java based program which acts as a grid/map system where everyone can move their tokens. The DM can reveal/hide certain parts of the map as appropriate.
The one we use is heavily modified by the DM and has all sorts of handy features (adding conditions, using critical hit decks etc.). I get the impression he put a significant amount of work into modding it.

Wow thought this thread had utterly died. Had pretty much given up on it.
As for me, I'm actively living in Regina at the moment and DMing once a week (life pending) for the group we had started in Saskatoon using Maptools and Skype (usually Sunday afternoon and evening). It's alright but I miss a group meeting live to be honest.
With all that said, my work schedule is pretty nuts right now and will be until September when I start onto the more traditional shifts. Which is good and bad as I'll have around 4 day/nights free every week but they'll vary so I'll need people with somewhat open schedules.
Anyway, come September I'll probably be looking for form a live group if I can find the players and interest. The Maptools group might need more players eventually too (only if I can figure out the networking aspects, we've been using Hamachi but it is far from perfect and this is far from my personal forte).
*edit*
Nightdrifter, what is your schedules like? I like DMing but would love to just play sometimes too. Admit I know next to nothing about the Society play though. I mostly do custom setting/rules myself.

I spent some time in Regina while I was in Canada. I would love to participate in a virtual game with some folks there. Or, if anyone wants to run a live game there with one computer used for skype I can still game that way too.
Speaking of which, is that Saigon by Night Asian restaurant still over on Broad street in the downtown area? They had good food.

Hey just got posted to Regina with the military and I am seeking a new gaming group. I play and DM, though my D&D stuff is all 3.5. I also have a lot of Palladium books like Rifts, Robotech (old and new) and Heroes Unlimited to name a few. Really feeling the itch since I have a whole bunch of free time on my hands now and not a lot to fill it with.

Good to see people starting up Pathfinder in my home town. Was born and raised there! I now live in Toronto though so sadly I won't be able to help you out
I'm another SK to T.O. transplant. Back when I was studying at the U of S (in 199mumble), there was a university RPG club. Is that just a distant memory now?

Had thought this had died so didn't check for a while. Definitely need some form of subscription to threads on this forum! (Or is there already one?)
Weekends are generally fine for me. It's hard to work in something during the week.
Grand Moff: I think it's still there. I've never eaten there so I don't know how their food is now.

My Skype/Maptools group is currently meeting on Saturday or Sundays (schedules pending, usually Sunday around 4 PM till 8 or 9) and could use another two players if any of you are interested. It's not face to face, but for now it is the best option that I can do reliably (two players are from Regina, two from Saskatoon, and one friend from the US).
If it interests you feel free to add me on Skype and strike up a conversation:
I'm not on all the time with my shiftwork, but I'll try track you down soon as I can. From there we can see if the campaign interests/fits you and vice versa. Even if not, perhaps when my schedule gets better we can work on a group that meets here in Regina.

Have a current Pathfinder game running in a well-developed non-Golarion world in Regina, SK every Monday night. Looking for another one, maybe two players. Experience is unnecessary, but love of the game and story are imperative!
Very roleplaying oriented, deep original storylines, plot hooks, character development, etc. This translates to in-depth talks/discussions outside of game night as to the story on many occasions... definitely not an, "I swing, I hit for x damage," type group... (not that there is anything wrong with it, it is just not what we enjoy!)
Let me know if you might be interested!
Thanks!

Always forget to check this sub forum for replies...
Absynthyne, if you do it on a week to week that could work just fine. I generally have 3-4 days each week that are wide open for me. My brother is about the same and has the same time open often (though may be moving because of work depending). Anyway, I'll try PM you my contact information.

After spending a year in Regina commuting back to a small town for D&D I made the decision that its time to find a group in Regina. I am currently 19 and come September will be entering my second year attending the UofR. My experience is only 2 years with D&D 3.5 material but seeing as how my current DM has played all versions of D&D and incorporates some feats and other things from older versions I might know a little bit about some other versions. I wont be able to play till September as I will be working up North to pay for my schooling but come September ill be ready to go. The reason I ask now is to possibly get an idea of when the group would play so I can attempt to schedule my classes around it.

I posted this on the other thread as well. I was a previous resident of Regina, moved out of town shortly after posting (unexpectedly!) and just returned.
Hi all,
We are a three person group looking for players. Pathfinder rules.
A bit of an overview:
This is a long running game in a world personally and fully developed by our DM. We love playing it. For well over a decade, players have joined and drifted away as we have moved across the provinces, and the world has grown into something amazing.
We are a role-play focused group of late 20s/early 30s. We love interacting in and with the world. The mysteries of the world extend beyond the game, and we often sit around and discuss previous sessions, brainstorm, or speculate about things!
Combat - we love combat as much as we love roleplaying, and we build our characters to the best of our abilities, and want to be strong so that we can make an impact on our world. We do not bend the rules, or munchkin, but we do min/max. If that isn't your cup of tea, you probably wouldn't be happy here!
No experience is necessary to join, just a passion for playing! We do not have a set date for playing at this time (since there are just the three of us currently, we just sorta pick up when we can), but we would all be happy to set a schedule.
If this sounds interesting, or if you'd like more info, please drop me a message or reply on these forums :)

Hey all!
My friend and I are also looking for a dnd group to join. He is familiar with all versions and myself I am only familiar with 4th. We both have played and dabbled in the DM department. Kinda new to this paizo. Thanks. Ps I can and would prefer a weekly game as my friend do to work schedule can only make it to every other game.

Hello All / Anyone in Regina?
I am desperately looking for a Pathfinder and/or D&D 5E game in the Queen City.
I am a veteran role-player in my mid-40's (married, no kids) and I have played D&D (in all it’s incarnations) since 1979, and I would like to start-up a new Pathfinder / 5E group or join an already established group as a Player / Alternate DM.
I have great deal of DMing experience (to be honest, it's been ages since I've actually been a Player) and I have a tonne of gaming materials, as well as my own Pathfinder & 5E Core books, far too many dice, miniatures, vinyl maps. etc ...
I am willing to play just about anywhere in the city and can host games (for respectful players) if necessary. I would prefer playing Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights ... either once a week or every two weeks as schedules allow.
I look forward to hearing from any serious, mature role-players in the Regina area looking to play Pathfinder or to dig into the new 5E rules ... at this point, I just want to game. :)

Hey Im a bit new to table top rpg only played a couple campaigns but really enjoyed it and since Im new to the city its hard finding people to play and help me carry on in learning and enjoying this so if there is a group currently formed or enough people to form a group a would love to get involved.

It's not D&D or Pathfinder but there is something you might be interested in. Every Tuesday night at the North end Boston Pizza there is an event called Chewsday Challenge. a bunch of people (numbers tend to run around 30 people but there has been as many as 50) get together and play board games all night. It's a lot of fun and you can meet some of the local gamers, maybe even find some folks for a D&D Group.
Might be small this week due to the snow but in general there is a pretty good crowd, and a lot of interesting games
