In addition to now including all the open game content from Ultimate Combat and the errata for the third printing of the Bestiary, the PRD is now optimized for tablet and mobile display. Before you ask, yes, that means iPhone, iPad and Android. Probably others, too, but that's what we tested on.

I have been showing this thing off to anybody I can corral here at the office. Lissa and Chris Lambertz have put in a lot of hours tweaking this thing and they deserve all the credit. Ross deserves some too, but he gets all the credit for making the Pathfinder Battles subscriptions working. So there's plenty of credit to go around! Except for me. I take no credit for any of this. Except to say, "Make it not suck."

Since this is a major revision of several hundred pages of content and navigation, there are bound to be problems. Please use this thread to let us know anything you find that needs to be fixed, and we'll fix it as soon as we can.

And yeah, searching the PRD kind of sucks. We're working on that.

I like the new spell index and feat index, very nice. I was wondering why Ultimate Combat was taking so long ;)

There's a pause between the pre-CSS white background and the parchment background loading where you have black text on a black background. This makes the site completely unusable for 20-30 seconds until the images have completely loaded. I don't know if this is due to some quirk of the iOS Safari or something fixable with the site, but it's a very frustrating user experience.

Words can barely express how pleased I am with the changes on this.

In the Spell Index, all the "Mage's" spells are listed as "Mage S". Same with "Summon Nature's Ally". Also, the "Greater" spells from the Core Rulebook have doubled commas while the "Mass" spells are missing theirs. "Interrogation,,, Greater" is particularly greedy.

The links are completely functional, however.

A similar formatting error applies to Summon Nature´s Ally.

Cure Critical Wounds Mass (and other Cure Mass spells) lack the comma.
Mage S Disjunction, Mage S Faithful Hound, etc, are missing the apostrophe.

In case I missed any... I would do a search for anything with 2 or 3 commas in a row (,, ,,,) which shouldn´t normally appear, and you can look for ´ S ´ (capital S with space around it) which also appears to be a common error format.

I would actually label the Index as ´Unified Index (Feat, Spells)´ to indicate is an Index of ALL the prodcuts... just glancing at the side-bar, it isn´t clear what it is for... Indexes are often the ´front page´ of similar types of pages, so many people may never click on it since they figure they are already looking at the index (from the front page of the PRD).

I'll probably be working on the javascript first thing in the morning. I'll see if I can't add Firefox 3.6.22 to my list of browsers to test with and figure out what bits causing problems. Likely something to do with font size for the navigation if it doesn't have a problem on the front page. Thanks for letting me know. There is js error on some of the larger heavily linked pages for IE so that's on my list as well.

Hey, Lissa! This is FANTASTIC. As a freelancer who regularly has the PRD up with multiple tabs going in my browser as I work, it's great to see much of this stuff consolidated (and the Ultimate Combat material added to the PRD). It navigates quickly. Everything's there now. And it's beautifully done. Sure, there may be some broken links here and there and a few bugs to shake out, but all in all, I'm really pleased with this development.

Also, I was surprised to learn you'd officially joined the Paizo crew. Liz mentioned it in the chat room last night when I popped in to give kudos to the technical team for the PRD changes. Congrats. And keep up the excellent work. The freelancer in me really appreciates it. And the gamer in me loves it, too.

I don't care about iPads, etc. I'm just glad if it works better with Internet Explorer. Hyperlinks in the sidebar or at the top of the browser were often blocked by background elements, for instance.

Sadly, it is displaying REALLY poorly on my Android phone. Mind, my phone is a Motorola Citrus, which is more like a toy Android phone than a real one, but FWIW, it isn't working. Looks like it doesn't want to display the frames/table setup in a readable manner.

Top graphic displays with nothing underneath, you have to scroll over to see the index, and only part of the index displays at all and gets truncated by the funky vertical line that's supposed to be to the far right of the page. The disclaimer at the bottom displays in one very narrow strip.

Looks fabulous on the PC though (using latest version of Firefox)--MUCH better layout, much easier to follow and read, and the index to the left looks great.

Okay, constructive criticism #1: At work, I like to have my (IE) browser window be relatively small, and that makes the new sidebar useless because I can't scroll down and see more of it.

As I sometimes run a game away from an internet access point, I copy the PRD using HTTrack. Got the following errors when downloading the new PRD this morning (broken links):

A very tiny correction, but on the Ultimate Combat Bard Archetypes page, "Archaeologist" needs to have its middle "a" decapitalized and needs to display in the second header font; it currently displays in the same font as the word "bard."

I love the new layout. The text seems a little harder to read now, though. I think the text got smaller. (Must be getting old. Aaaah!)

Constructive criticism #2: In the description of combat styles on the Ultimate Combat feats page, some of the hyperlink anchors are not that helpful.

For example:

Crane Style: Crane style focuses on defense and agile counterattacks. Practitioners are known for graceful, one-legged stances and folding arm techniques that mimic a crane's enormous wings.

Feat Path: Crane Style, Crane Wing, Crane Riposte.

The phrase "Crane Style" in bold is hyperlinked to the beginning of the same paragraph, rather than being a hyperlink to the Crane Style feat description.

The new Navigation page is a godsend on my Motorola Droid — this makes the site usable finally!

Like KaeYoss mentioned above, is there any chance we could see comprehensive class spell lists showing spells from all sources? Now that the formatting issues have been addressed, that's still my single biggest wish. This has a large impact when try to spec a brand new spontaneous caster, or a specialist wizard.

Minor thing, more for cleanliness sake than usability:
When I first click Navigate on my Blackberry, I'm taken to the PRD with the Ultimate Combat target appended on. Since the entire list shows on a single page, this isn't a big deal. However, this did mean that my bookmark defaulted to being called "Ultimate Combat" instead of "PRD"

I briefly got to see the mobile version but for some reason I can't anymore. I don't know if it matters but I'm using a Samsung 4G Sidekick droid. For anyone who is thinking of buying one of these phones: don't. It sucks. I wish I had the money to replace it with almost anything else.

The navigation frame on the left doesn't work without javascript. Any chance that could be changed back to a full list? Or at least have each book link to a page with all of the stuff for that book?

IE: click "Ultimate Combat" instead of nothing happening, have it load a page with links to Gunslinger, Ninja, Samurai, Class Archetypes, etc.

I'd rather have everything listed there by default, so if I'm looking at, for example, the Magus, I can click once to get to spell lists.

Also, the nav seems to be a separate frame, so it doesn't scroll with the rest of the page. This is disorienting, and also cuts off all that content if you can't see it on the screen at one time. (Tiled windows horizontally means most of those nav links are permanently off-screen)

The Attacks of Opportunity picture isn't centered.

Table: Actions in Combat takes up the entire width of the page (excluding nav frame).

The text under any table (like the AoO picture) is very small and smashed together, hard to read.

On all pages except the index, the header's click-area isn't correct. If you try to click the PRD link, (the one right next to the pathfinder logo) the bottom half ("Reference Document") isn't a link.
-edit- Weird, with scripting enabled, it's as described above. Without scripting, the image link works, but the text breadcrumb links under the search box vanish.

On the spell description pages (/spells/spellname.html) the font of the text between the black bar and first line (flavor text) is hard to read. It's big and spaced strangely. (School, casting time, etc.)
