Devastation Bob wrote: Hadn't seen a thread for this yet and I like reading other people's concepts. I'm down with OPC. I'm GMing the campaign, and these are the characters my players have picked: F Drow Rogue (Scout)
I think the half-orc is my favorite archetype. His character wades into combat with a great-axe. The Boreal abilities will eventually become very cool. It also fits the setting of the campaign quite well.
Here is the group I'm running Jade Regent for: M half Varisian bladebound magus (childhood crush on Shalelu)
M half-orc cleric of Cayden Cailean (Shalelu is a friend of the family)
M elf Houndmaster Cavalier (friend to Koya's family)
M Varisian martial artist monk (younger sibling of Sandru)
M Tien wood wizard (younger sibling of Ameiko)
I purposefully requested that at least one person claim each of the major NPCs with a trait so that all of them would be integrated into the party.
Right now this is what my players party looks like: -A human bard -A human sorcerer (cross-blooded primal fire elemental/arcane bloodlines) -A human monk (master of many styles/Ki mystic, multiclassing into ninja) -A human magus
I am playing a Half Orc sorcerer Abyssal bloodline. Currently I wade into battle with my Falchion after casting mage armour. I am going the augmented summoning, flood the battlefeild with monsters route. My character concept is somewhat more complicated.
Starting the campaign in a few weeks. The group make up will bring an interesting game I think. M Human(Ulfen) Oracle of Battle
The group I am playing in consists of the following: Dhampir Ninja (Me)
After 2 sessions, seems to be a decent group. Only problem so far is
My campaign just started last Thursday! So this is what my players are working with at the moment. A halfling Bard suffering from writers block while trying to write an 'epic'. A dwarven Deep Earth Sorcerer with a heavy emphasis on crafting. A monk with a troubled past that he has mostly forgotten. Will be moving into dragon disciple after snagging a level of sorcerer. Should be an interesting character. A half-orc/half Shoanti barbarian who has been living in exile with his mother for most of his life. A Elf kensai from Katapesh. Prone to a bit of wanderlust that has brought him to Varisia.
Our party consists of the following: Female half-elf bard (geisha)
We've played several sessions already and are almost through the first book. I've been keeping a campaign journal here for those interested in checking it out. It contains spoilers, naturally, so use caution if you're playing in the game. :)
I am playing in a group that should be playing it's first game this weekend. So far we have: Female human bard (dervish dancer) - younger sister trait. This player intends on playing double for ameiko once she starts getting in danger. Male human cavalier (dragon) - a retired character from a different campaign who had left to change orders and is being brought back here. Female human oracle (nature) - rescued trait. Former trader whose caravan was destroyed by bandits and was saved by her bound mount carrying her to the outskirts of Sandpoint. Cleric - haven't gotten much information about this character yet. Undetermined character - player was tossing up between a non lethal ninja or a blasting caster. Have to see how it all goes.
Just made this last night, I'm playing a halfling fighter (weapon master) who specializes in the halfling slingstaff. Fluff wise, he's essentially a lacrosse player. I'm gonna be getting as many of the sling-related feats as I can, I've got the Warslinger racial trait, and its gonna be awesome. So far we've got two bards and a rogue as well, so this should be an interesting campaign.
I... somehow managed a blank post above this. No clue how that's even possible. (Meh, it can be deleted so whatever) Anyways, I'm GMing a group of four who are about to begin Brinewall Legacy. The PCs are: M Halfling Paladin (Hero Worship Trait towards Shalelu) F Dwarf Druid (Rescued Trait by Koya) F Human Magus (Caravan Guard Trait) M Tengu Monk (Best Friend Trait towards Ameiko)
Party just finished Brinewall: 1/2 Elf Female Gunslinger 2 / Rogue 2, Ameiko's little half-sister who spend her teens as a runaway in Garund.
The party I'm GMing for is in Brinewall now and have just befriended spivey. It consists of: --Sayanna, a half-elf cleric of Desna. Has a crush on Shelaelu (but ended up making it with Ameiko the very first session due to very good rolling on her player's part.)
F Human sorcerer (orc bloodline) - Hero Worship/Ameiko
They're just about to encounter the white dragon in The Hungry Storm.
The group in my games started out with:
They were then joined in the second session by a half-orc barbarian.
The party I'm GMing for is Human (Tian-Min) Ninja
Player of deceased Half-Orc fighter's new character looks to be a Human (Varisian) Cleric.
My PC's party is as following: CG/Male/Chelexian/Cavalier (Order of the Cockatrice) - Family friend of Koya
I told my PCs to build characters without telling each other and the party is something like: Varisian fighter/sorcerer
That's right, three rogues, two brutes even with the same feats, and no divine caster. So far they've survived a couple of sessions (just about to enter Brinewall)

Sounds a lot like the party I'm in. LN male Tian-Min fighter (two-weapon warrior) - Caravan Guard - Used to be a notorious swordsman in Minkai 15 years ago, but fled his past and now his skills have atrophied. (Me) LG male Varisian monk (Qinggong)- Best Friends (Ameiko) - Granted his qi powers by his dying surrogate mother. He is on the journey to protect Ameiko, and also find someone to help him master his power. CN male Ulfen/Tian-Min barbarian (invincible rager) - Family Friend - An Ulfen-Tian-Min half-breed from Kalsgard, he's lived in Sandpoint for a long time. CG female elf fighter (archer) - Hero Worship (Shelalu) - Aspires to be exactly like Shelalu and is always trying to earn her approval. This merry band of misfits has actually fared quite well (we're just about to finish up Night of Frozen Shadows now and we just picked up you-know-what).
Spoiler:
I was almost expecting us to TPK several times, such as against Nindenzego and Kikonu in Part I and the Earth Elemental and Draugr Captain in Part II. I also didn't think we'd be able to defeat Woads before he flew away, but a lucky critical hit from our archer weakened him just enough for her to shoot him down with her next attack). I'm not sure what to expect for Thorborg Silverskorr, other than the fact we know she's an Ogre Mage, which I know are really tough. Hopefully Suishen will help us out here, and we've always got the Seal to resurrect us if we die).

He has the gnome variant thing where he can turn really tiny, because he'd found about about Spivey before the campaign began and wants to romance her. Sigh. Guyzel was Shelaelu's student survivalist. To be precise, Guyzelseuss Noggenfogger, rogue-scout with the "trixie ancestry" option from Rite Publishing's 101 Alternate Racial Traits.
I am playing an Varisian Archaeologist who is the younger brother of a former PC in Rise of the Runelords. My fellow party is comprised of:
All in all an interesting mix, though I tend to be the secondary fighter, and with the prospect of losing the samurai to real life, I may multiclass into the tactician fighter archetype.
Taking a break from DMing Carrion Crown, I am a player in Jade Regent. I insisted we create our characters together, to mesh well and be a group from the start. It worked out well. We had our first session last week and we just finished the misadventure in the goblin camp. Our characters are: Philip (‘the Brooding’) – Neutral Human Cleric of Pharasma. Think emo, including the young age. Very amusing. Crush on Ameiko (likes older women, apparently). Zora Soran – Chaotic Good Half-Elf Gunslinger (Pistolero). Reformed thief. Hero worship of Shalelu. Sir Fellinor the Foul – Lawful Neutral Halfling Knight (actually just fighter, but pretentious). Friend of the family. Clarette Tear – Chaotic Good Half-Elf Bard. Plays the castanets and dances a little. Koya’s foster child. Sable – Lawful Neutral Tiefling (Devil-spawn) Fighter. Sword and Board. Secretly worships Asmodeus. Caravan guard, and the hardest person to bring into the group, but the player has a habit of creating distant characters. I’m happy I got this much cooperation out of him :) (me) Sangezi Copperhill – Lawful Good Tiefling (Demon-spawn) Paladin of Shelyn. Raised in Sandpoint by his adventurer father (and begotten by either a succubus or alu-demon, he’s not quite sure) and trained at a temple of Shelyn. Not much artistic talent, so trained as paladin to be protector and patron of artists. Discovered a knack for, and love of, cooking. Best friend of Ameiko and works in the kitchen of the Rusty Dragon, part of the the inn’s reputation as a place of good eating. It’s been very fun so far. We all got to play a concept we wanted and we have strong relationships with each other (for the most part). Somewhat lacking in arcane power, but the bard will cover that (along with traps). Go bards!
DM'ing this for about two months now. They're about halfway through Frozen Shadows. Human Female (tien) Sorceress (Maestro/Geisha); friend of Ameiko
They've had to borrow weapons from Shaleleu to deal with the Harpy (ranged), and used Spivey for bulk healing in Brinewall, and kelda for the final battles in brinewall. other than that, no NPC support (other than Koya morning spellcasting of lesser restoration and make whole).
We haven't started to play yet but so far the group is: CG Female Kitsune witch - going to act as the groups healer and is a pacifist for the most part specializing in Enchantment spells. She has kept the fact that she is a kitsune a secret by staying in human form. LG Male Halfling Bard with the Street Performer archtype calls himself a barcher (bard archer) LG Female Half Elf Monk no idea what archtype she is using is the twin sister to our fighter from the runelords. CG Male Human Caviler with the knight errant order. Going to be acting like Tom Cruses character from the last Samurai. Should be interesting how we all work together once we start playing.

Update: After spoiler: we got some PvP after Philip the Brooding succumbed to evil temptation. Sir Fellinor was accused of murder (framed), imprisoned, shackled, then had his throat ripped open by tiny teeth. Philip soon went insane, and had his heart eaten inside his chest. Yeah. The players were cool with it, so I (albeit slowly and reluctantly) put away my axe I was grinding over PvP and generally what happened.
investigating Old Megus shack and not finding the ratkin Sooo, two characters died in not-so-heroic fashion, but certainly memorable. We now have two new members: Ashta Vondaniken- Half-elf monk, unknown gender (androgynous and silent on the matter). Versengutorix - Elder Dwarven cleric of Torag. Believes himself to be our 'mentor', whether we want him to be or not! We just spoiler: and returned home with a sense of accomplishment.
destroyed Tsutamu and recovered the Kaijitsu chest.
I have no idea how I missed this thread. Anyways, I'm running this for our group in our homebrew world. Right now, the group's preparing an assault on Raven's Peak (a slightly renamed Ravenscreag), consisting of: Pan Li- Vanara Weapon Master Monk- has branded the caravan first "Pan Li's Traveling Freak Show and Circus." Following several deaths in the city of Tsai Tseng, it has been rebranded "Pan Li's Traveling Mercantile and Pawn Shoppe." [Family friend of Sandru.] Chai Qi- Chong Kuan Human Ninja- the younger sister of Chai Jai-Li, the unwitting heiress to an empire (a substitute because Ameiko showed up in an earlier game on the other side of our world and, uh, died. If you're reading this, thanks, Steve.) [Obviously, younger sister of Jai-Li.] Nam Jung Su- Sejong Human Monk/Cleric- Jung Su is twelve years old and has asked every bartender in every civilization hub for ale at a tavern. He has been refused every single time. Looks like Aang from The Last Airbender. Sometimes the voice of reason for this party, sometimes makes me want to reduce him to his component spell components. [Foster child of Koya.] Vata Perada- Sylph Alchemist- Vata is directly responsible for getting one party member killed, is lackadasial, and shrugs off a lot of stuff the party gives him. His player is awesome. Vata has an alchemical tentacle, which makes the party joke about girls in schoolgirl uniforms. [Originally hero worship of our Shalelu replacement, but the replacement got killed in her sleep. Go read Fhen Fan's obituary in that thread for more info.] Mike's Fourth Character- Kitsune Planetouched Oracle of Nature- Will be joining the party tomorrow. That's all I know but Mike is, like the rest of my group, TOTALLY AWESOME!
My party contains the following: Batkhan, male half-orc inquisitor of Nethys (Protection Domain; Merchant Guard; dislikes Sandru)
I ran We Be Goblins! this week and will be starting up the AP in two weeks. I plan on using a variant on Clark Peterson's setup. The PCs are: Eradiel Dagon - male elf magus (bladebound), friend of the family.
We just kicked off the jade regent tonight.
we had a lot of fun and have high hopes for the campaign to come:)
I started building my character 3 days ago and started playing it yesterday. It was very impromptu decision to run this campaign right now. I am playing Rogar, son of Odol of the Ghalkin Clan (dwarf cleric 15. No archetypes or prestige classes planned at this stage). In Pathfinder I have 10 characters, 8 of which are human. The reasons are three fold:
So playing a dwarf is out of my comfort zone. Playing a Charisma 5 character is well and truly out of my comfort zone. This is the first time a Charisma 5 character has actually been legal. I cannot bluff, I have 0 ranks in it and a -3 modifier. I do have max ranks in Diplomacy, netting me a +2 in it at level 2. I've started to become concerned that I'm relying too much on humans +2 to any stat and bonus feat. So I'm trying to force myself to play different races more (it doesn't help there's only 7 races legal for PFS play and 3 of them have the +2 to any stat of your choice boost). I am enjoying being 107 years old. I am enjoying having bonuses in very specific circumstances. Rogar's Background
I am 107 years of age and my family has been trading through Sandpoint for quite some time. I have the "friend of the family" trait with Koya. Initially I was going to be a best friend to Ameiko but one of my players who has the potential to romance her requested I pick a different NPC as that was the NPC he chose. Not wanting us to all have the same NPC as our "significant other" I chose Koya for three reasons:
Given I had a starting relationship score with Koya of 1 I decided that I was very good friends with her mother. I first met Niska when I was 13 years old. I was friendly with Koya but I always considered myself an unofficial "Uncle Rogar" to young Koya. After all, I was 47 for her very first birthday. An adult by that point. For the past 20 years I've been studying to become an ordained priest of Angradd and so the last time I saw Koya was when she was 40 years old. I have corresponded quite a bit during the last 20 years with Niska. Upon becoming ordained I immediately travelled to Sandpoint as I was concerned for Niska's health based on how she had been talking in our letters back and forth. I arrived a few days before she died and have been keeping an eye on Koya to make sure she is handling her grief well and is taking care of herself. Rogar's Catch Phrases
1) "Have a sandwich! You look like you're about to faint." "Have a sandwich! I could snap you in two without even trying." - This is one of the ways in which I am playing out my Charisma 5. I am genuinely concerned for all of these frail humans. Especially Koya. They look like they're about to pass out and waste away to nothing." 2) "I bloody hate goblins!" - It's true because I have a hatred for goblins. Especially the goblins that blinded me, forced me to fall off my horse and then have it bolt away with them chasing it. (I didn't have enough starting coin to buy one). 3) "Now look here, young lady..." - Whenever Koya and I disagree on something. Rogar's Memorable Moments
The Rest of the Party
We have a Tian Fighter 1/Sorcerer 4/Dragon Disciple X/Something else Y called Mitsuhirato Yaramoto. He has either a "childhood crush" or "hero worship" of Ameiko. Party Roles
Given we only have 3 characters we have filled these party roles thusly:
I'm currently running Carrion Crown with my group and the party make-up is: LG M azlanti/ ulfen human counterspell abjurer wizard/ abjurant champion (Andoran)
We've just started Shadows of Gallowspire, though I have plans to adapt Expedition to Castle Ravenloft for higher level play and use it to continue the story.
We'll be jumping into Jade Regent after that's all wrapped up, though I want to adapt the story to start off in Minkai from part one. It'll take some work, but my group seems pretty excited about the change. We so far have: A M human oracle of fire
We have a party of four :
You're welcome to browse our adventure record blog!
I may have been too lenient with PC race options... Tiefling Fighter (Caravan Guard)
This should be interesting...
Devastation Bob wrote: I'm down with OPC. Yeah you know me! ...Carry on. >.> My party consists of:
Kimiko: CG Female Tian Gunslinger (Musket Master)/ Rogue (Sniper), Ameiko's little sister, has a crush on Sandru.
We like playing Gestalt....makes for interesting character concepts. ;-)
Finally getting to DM this AP. I only have three players but they are experienced players so I'm not afraid of what to come. We are really excited about this AP. The characters: -Halla "Ravnhår" Sigrund's Daughter, NG female ulfen savage skald bard. Adopted by Koya. Run away from her home after killing some ulfen vassal and was saved by Koya at Riddleport. Friends with Ameiko as she performs often in Rusty Dragon. -Nazrak Gunlao, LN male tien samurai. Younger sibling to Shalelu. Shalelu saved him from bear when he was 8-years old, only having some riff-raff clothes and katana. His family came over Crown of the World long time ago, Nazrak doesn't remember his parents well. Sandru is also like big brother to him as he trained him to use katana. -Titos 'the Rusty', CG male varisian "ninja". Crush on Ameiko. Titos really isn't ninja, he is young bouncer at Rusty Dragon. Ameiko and Sandru worked together to get Titos out of streets where he could have become sczarni. (We use ninja only for rules to Titos, he isn't real ninja. At leat now.) I really like how my player's came up with characters this good for AP. There is lot connection to key npcs and to each other.
We have a large party of six people. We are currently level 5 and are in Kelisgrad (sp?) for the curious. *Tiefling rogue/magus going Arcane Trickster. Velna originally hails from Sandpoint and joined the Pathfinder Society in Magnimar to escape the stigma of being "that devil thief girl". After some training, the PFS sent her back to Sandpoint to figure out what was going on there. As soon as a valid excuse presented itself, she fled Sandpoint once more. *Fetchling shadow assassin (Genius Games class). Also from Sandpoint, Garrek's small family isn't well known and keeps mostly to themselves, but he was curious about the outside world and joined a caravan to see as much of it as he could. *Human wizard going Harrower. Annette was a barmaid in Ameiko's inn and followed out of loyalty. She does not trust the "devil girl thief" at all. *Gnome alchemist. With bright pink hair and an exuberant personality, Tanzi is never happier than when she gets to blow something up. Garrek and Velna are also trying to teach her the rudiments of stealth, but it's not going very well ... *Kitsune life oracle. Imhakaru's family settled in Sandpoint when Ameiko's forebears did, but she's always been curious about her original homeland. *Human sylvan sorcerer. Sylvian and his bear Enoka were part of a Varisian caravan for a long time, earning their keep with a dancing bear act. Originally from Sandpoint, Sylvian returned home in time to find his old friend Ameiko preparing to leave again and decided to join her.
I'm playing the whole world, since I'm the GM ;-) But our PCs include: Aasimar bard
There's also a gnome summoner who hasn't played in forever but we're letting him hang around the caravan in case he ever turns up again. The lack of a healbot hasn't really proved much of an issue so far between the use of wands and Koya, but they're only on book 2 and just entering Ravenscraeg. I think they'll find things a bit tougher from here on in... muahahaha.
We've just started storming Ravenkeep (I think that's the name). Our party members have come and gone over the months. This is what we have now:
With only 4 of us, the fighter is pretty new to Pathfinder, and the only school the sorcerer ever looked at was Evocation, then add the all but useless Gunslinger on top of that, we really needed help, so we have Spivey along for our heal bot.
