hey guys, im a little confused with how to read a stat block, more specifically, im confused with claws... (2 claws +5 (1d6+2)) does that mean there is 2 attacks? or both claws to do that one attack? and when it comes to the ability Rend, it says when both claws hit you can do this, so it comes back to me thinking its 2 claw attacks at +5

Yes, when attacks are listed as "2 claws" or "8 tentacles" or "6 slams" or whatever, it means it has that number of attacks, each one attacking at the attack bonus and damage as listed - these are separate attacks and each one is rolled separately.
Your assessment of Rend is correct: if both of the two separate claw attacks hit, then the Rend ability can be used.
