First of all, yes auto-correct is annoying! We have this fight, then one more and that'll largely be it wrapped up for First Steps Part 1.

PaizoCon UK 2012!

So PaizoCon UK 2012 is going to be on the 21st & 22nd of July 2012. Who thinks they'll be able to attend? I'm looking pretty positive after speaking with The Better Half as she's got a trip with her sister earlier in the year.

Assuming we can all make it, I thought it might be cool to try and source some t-shirts with our real life names and character names in order to identify one another when we're there! As well as our Society t-shirts, of course!

I hope to go, is someone up for sharing rooms, or goes down by car? Would take the cost burden down.

I've had a look and the cheapest option individually would be to go by plane from Aberdeen to Bimingham. However, if we factor splitting petrol/diesel costs multiple ways then that might become cheaper. It would be a long haul driving; approximately nine hours.

Also, Premier Inn Central East is where Crar and I stayed last time and it's a) not too far from the University and b) reasonably priced when booked in advance.

Thanks for this,
9h drive? Uh, that's harsh. Flights are currently £100 return, so maybe a better option. But probably staying until Monday then?

I found flights at £68 return as long as I was reading the comparison site right. Flybe was the airline.

I'll almost certainly be there, I've not missed one yet.

The name badges have had forum names next to our real names for the last couple of years, so we shouldn't have too much trouble finding each other.

Grand Lodge

I should be there again. Just look out for the DwarvenForge and you will spot me.

The Exchange

Would very much like to go, but will need to see. Might be up for driving down, but £68 sounds pretty good for a flight. Nostrus, maybe this time we'll get down in time for balti night? Would be great to play with you all in person again!

£68 return?
When does registration open, need to do the last bit of convincing to my wifey.
How child-friendly is Paizocon? Considering to take my 9 year old along.

I think PaizoCon UK originally had an age limit - might have been 12? I know that last year when I took my son to Games Expo (he was 9 at that time) that he was too young for PaizoCon.

I did have one young boy at my table this year. He might have been 12 (?) certainly not much older. I'm also doing here some work with my junior leage here locally. This helps as GMs and organizers like Dave and Rob have experienced my kids.

Maybe we should open this up as a discussion on the PaizoCon UK thread. Dave did take care whom to seat with younger children. As long as nobody is forced to play with someone young (or GM him/her) this is actually a win in my view. It would also open up the question if my family comes along (11 and 9).

We might have some tables with a mix - up to 2 children and only adults as GM/player who are comfortable or enjoy playing with younger ones. No worry - there will be enough GMs and players doing this. It just won't be everyone.

Sorry for the long winded reply.

I agree with regards the kids we'll need to speak with Dave and Rob. However, I'm all for encouraging play with our youngsters. My own five month old will be taught to play and I'm purchasing the Pathfinder Beginner Box in the new year in order to perhaps coordinate some play in our local club.

CH, yeah, the flight down would be at 0855 so we'd be in plenty of time for the balti night. Indeed, we'd have time to shove in, although I could bring the Beginner Box and could advertise for any other early arrivals for gaming goodness!

Not sure whether I'll make it, as it clashes with High Voltage Festival which is a bit of an event for us older lags at work...

... I'll have to wait and see in the new year and give it a bit more thought.

Just want to wish you guys a happy holiday season. Posting will be sporadic on my part as we are moving on the 26th and waiting for our broadband to get activated.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

The Exchange

Merry Christmas all!

Planning now for PaizoCon, will need to look for when we can start registering. Would be ok to play with juniors; in fact, could be good. Been thinking a lot at work about how to bring together rpgs and libraries, could involve some sort of junior league, so would be good to see how other GMs handle it.

I will update the gameplay thread soon, just waiting for broadband at my new house.

M almost human

If it's BT - it will be next year ;)

Hope you all had a great Christmas.

I'm pondering PaizoCon, its on at the same time as the High Voltage Festival, a group of us from work go for a weekend away in the 'Bog Smoke' and take in the festival. So its not just a straight forward decision.

As it happens, it's Orange I am with but not available until the 5th of January. Might be able to update before then.

As of today DwarvenForge is back in Europe.

Dwarvenforge Europe

It was quite a lot of work over the last few days. Let's see how it develops over the next year.

Sorry - just proud and needed to share.

The Exchange

Cool! Dwarven Forge sets are amazing!!

@Thod: Congrats ... I'll inform my local enthusiast at work.

@Thod... so does my mate buy a new washing machine or dwarven forge stuff ... he wants to stay married... LOL!!

I <3 Dwarven Forge!

Grand Lodge

The eveny should be Nevis Lodge. If you haven't registered it yet - do so - and keep it. You missed the 10.000 for us ...

As date I would take today. I sometimes have games spreading over 2 days and always take the one when the scenario finishes.

Thanks for running this, was fun! And Targ will start buying his MW Wakizashis - at least the first one, if funds are sufficient.

The Exchange

Yes, thanks Nostrus, well done and had much fun. Looking forward to day 2!

I need your character numbers, please! :)

Grand Lodge

Good I looked it up - I thought I had one character less.

This is awesome! I love Dwarven Forge and have quite a bit. The only reason I didn't have more was the crazy postage costs from the States.

Hi there Nostrus:

Crar = 15446-4

Nostrus

Not sure how you handle PA and if someone wants to buy something with PA. There are two different approaches - some GMs allow it after the first scenario, some want you to choose a faction first and therefore demand you to play the whole first steps series.

See my post. I'm happy either way.

Going with the actual scenarios, I think we'll stick to the rules for just now and go with after all three scenarios.

Sorry I'm a bit late. I'll keep my profile on Deevor updated with anything that is affecting my games. If you see that when I'm not responding as usual, you should find out what's happening. Thanks.

Cheers. Should get the sheet filled out today and posted!

Okay - report should have been reported. Need to fill out your Chronicle sheets and get them to you guys somehow. Suspect I'll have to scan them. As we'll wait until the end of the third scenario for buying stuff, we can crack on with scenario 2!

I'm going to archive this campaign as a reference and open up a new one for the next step. I'll post up a link in this thread once it is made.

Or just move the discussion thread. Huzzah for forward-thinking webmasters! :)

Anyone still here?

I've started the second module but no one apart from Targ has posted :)

Oops, I hadn't noticed you started.

If there was any alcohol there he probably needs to make his first save..... ;)

The Exchange

Hi didn't realize we were ready for #2. Crar ready to go!

The Exchange

Anyone read Chronicles of the Black Company? Have been reading the first couple stories, been pretty interesting. Nostrus, might provide some inspiration for an evil-campaign.

Grand Lodge

Sorry - didn't show up under my campaigns.

At least did my first post today. Did GM part 1 earlier today here at Conception.

Sorry to be short. Have only my phone to post.

M almost human

Btw., would you be willing to sign of Prince of Wolves and Plague of shadows - have both books (and read them) for Targ? Could send you a pic, if you want proof.
