For fans of the Fallout series or post-apocalypsia...

Fallout: Nuka Break - Episode 1

Pretty cool. Love the ghoul make up.

~laughter~ Awesome!

Saweet!! :D

That was surprisingly well done. I love that they actually recreated that one street in Goodsprings. Excellent job making the weapons and the like (and that we see the Vault dweller turning on VATS in his Pip Boy before he starts shooting things).

Minor nitpick--in some shots the sun was reflecting off the ghoul's blacked out nose. The need to be careful to shoot him in the right light so that doesn't happen. In some shots he looked perfect.

The 16-minute fan film that inspired this features an eyebot blasting John Henry Eden's propaganda. It's pretty funny and the eyebot looks like something you'd see in a 1950s sci-fi movie.

I want to see an episode that addresses Ben's (the ghoul) hair. I'm wondering if they'll reveal it's a piece since it's very rare for a ghoul to have a full head of hair.

Ok, really vague, and probably just me, but it didn't FEEl like Fallout to me. BUT, I loved it anyway. Great video, and I'll be watching any follow-ups.

Episode 4 is now available for your viewing pleasure.

Is anyone even still watching this?

Yes I am. Thanks for posting these.

Just checking. I know it's simple enough to just check youtube every couple of weeks for the new episodes, but I figured this made it a little easier to find them for anyone interested.

Overall I'm liking it, but this series is only supposed to be six episodes so I hope the last two are pretty spectacular considering how short some of these are.

I'm also watching and appreciate the updates, Velcro Zipper.

Sigh.... If only Glutton Creeper hadn't lost the rights to the fallout RPG . . .

Well a) they still put out a post-apocalyptic d20 game, they just removed the IP from it, and b) Unfortunately, from what I HAVE seen of the tabletop RPG, it's not very good.

Bethesda was silly though--they chose to beat up a tiny indie developer for its lunch money when they instead could have settled, officially sanctioned the project, and overseen it so it came out high quality. Rather than see it as a threat to the release of Fallout 3--which makes NO fricking sense whatsoever--they could have had additional merchandise that came out around the same time as the video game which probably would have made them a decent profit if they did it right. Someone needs to grab a crowbar and pry Bethsofts' lawyers' heads out of their rear ends. But I digress.

As it is, you can certainly do a Fallout-based game using a number of existing rulesets -- d20 Modern, Mutants and Masterminds, Savage Worlds could probably all be adapted pretty easily to it. Not to mention, Fallout was originally SUPPOSED to use mechanics based on GURPS. Steve Jackson pulled out because he didn't want to be associated with a game where there was sex and drugs and you could stick grenades in kids' pockets and watch them explode (which you could do in the first two games)--so they invented the SPECIAL system instead.

And you never know, hopefully another game dev will come up with a neat post-apocalyptic game.

I don't know how complete it is, but there's always this.

The SPECIAL d10 system was pretty complete last time I saw it. However, its all fan-created. As far as I know, nobody ever came after them with lawsuits (the original developer got some kind of special permission from Interplay).

I completely agree that if they had backed the project they could have made hired GC some proofreaders and editors which would have put out a high selling product.

Bethesda is not a company known for its bright and innovative business decisions.

Maybe you can ask your brother-in-law to post Episode 5 already ^_-

Cheliax

this is a very well produced series! i am amazed by the number of crewmembers involved, how did they get so many people?

Calling him now.

Update - when I called he was out partying. So I sent a text and a link to the thread. Food for ego and likely to prompt response to relay.

Episode 5 is alive!

I give TheAntiElite full credit for this.

That one was especially good, really felt like it pushed the story along. Loved the shishkebab.

Cheliax

and Nuka-Quantum! that looked awsome...

I agree. The series needed that adrenaline boost from the awesome shishkebab fight scene after the last three episodes. I would never have guessed that Twig had Melee as a tag skill.

Did anybody else recognize the redhead in the bar? She's in the fan film they made before the series.

Update to Update:

Condolences to my brother-in-law, whose grandmother passed away recently. It may delay next ep as he and my sister struggle very hard to keep from murdering his aunt and having me turn the body into tamales.

Thanks for the update and condolences to your brother-in-law. You'll have to let me know when those tamales are ready. Mmmmmm, murder-tamales.

Preview for Episode 6

Late update is late:
