RIZZENMAGNUS |
passing through the door, you see a couple torches held up in sconces in the walls. Glancing around, you see that this is a very large room. and yet, at the extreme end, you see that the torchlight cannot pierce the darkness in that far corner.
Two large iron doors, on straight ahead, another 15 feet away, stand closed and unyeilding.
the chill and damp air clings to your body, and you are not the only one feeling it judging by the cough coming out of the darkness.

[Anna remains on guard, and recasts light on her Cestus, and tries to approach the sound of the cough cautiously]
Glawng Ghawn |
Glawng, while hearing the coughing from the corner, chooses to ignore it more intrigued by the doors lying across the way. He has always had an interest in doors, locks, and various mechanisms; if he were a gnome they would call it an obsession.
The others will explore that noise. I need to see what our choices of moving through this place will be.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
He walks across the room keeping in shadows (if possible.)
Perception: 10 + 11 = 21 (Taking 10)
He takes his time examining the doors.
Grandma Ghawn |
Grandma peered towards the cough but her clouded vision was even worse when she was standing in a room with such poor lighting.
"Who's there? Show yourself!" Grandma gripped her quarterstaff even tighter. Although she wasn't likely to attack first, she would defend herself.
Glawng Ghawn |
Upon hearing Grandma Ghawns utterance, Glawng stops a moment from his door investigation to see if there is a response. He notices Jamroar preparing to assist Grand and figures with his assistance, and whatever capabilites the 1/2 elf may have, Grand is in good hands for most problems. He returns to the doors in front of him.

Grandma Ghawn |
For the briefest of moments, Grandma deliberated internally how to deal with these orcs. Finally, she stepped forward and spoke in her best authoritative voice.
"You call yourselves orcs?" she said loudly, "I've seen dwarves with more backbone! Step forward out of those shadows and introduce yourself!"
Intimidate 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Anna Bridgette |
[Anna hears grandma's words and is a little shocked that she would verbally tongue lash those in fear, but this raised a Question "What could make Orcs so scared?" and puts up her guard and speaks]
"Here's a question for you, What in the world could scare Orcs, whom are known for some of the most daring raids?"
Glawng Ghawn |
Glawng still takes to the shadows. He cautiously approaches trying not to be seen. If things do not go well with these orcs he wants to have the advantage of shadow and possible get into a flanking position soon after the melee begins.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
He also attempts to examine the appearing hall and the orcs making the coughing noises.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Tanlen "The other half" Ghawn |
Just for easy reading, here is the link back to where the main thread resumes. When we split up again, someone should link that thread back to this post.
Glawng Ghawn |
Glawng seeing the rest of the Ghawn clan around the corner, leaves the shadows and approaches the rest of the group.
"Well met family. I guess if we had some clever elf here he would be spouting some dammed proverb about all doors leading to the same road. Have you gotten any info out of these 4 orcs?"
Glawng watched the orcs from a far looking for any signs of injuries, cuts, or bruises. He certainly hoped that it was not diseases that were causing their condition. Hard to fight what you can't see he thought to himself. He was reminded of the mold that was in the passage leading to the older Ghawn and wondered if this might be the culprit.
Perception for looking at orcs condition : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"So, who's going to talk to these sorry sacks. You know I don’t have the gift or patience for gab.
