Spontaneous Casters Preparing Spells

In 3.5 there was a feat that allowed spontaneous casters to prepare spells. This allowed the casters to prepare spells with metamagic feats applied. The benefit would keep the shorter casting time instead of the full round spontaneous metamagic casting.

Has a similar feat found its way into a Society legal sourcebook?

Not that I am aware of. However, you need to look at the PF rules for metamagic of spontaneous spells - it's significantly different from 3.0/3,5.

It would still be nice to be able to prepare one or two clutch spells with empower or maximized, and keep the standard action casting time. Sometimes you have to be able to make a move action to reposition to get the most out of your spell.

In that case, I'd purchase a metamagic rod. Feats are more precious than gold.

Won't help.

A sorcerer still must take a full-round action when using a metamagic rod, just as if using a metamagic feat he possesses (except for quicken metamagic rods, which can be used as a swift action).

While some may argue that this rule specifically states a problem for the Sorcerer, I firmly believe that all other spontaneous casters (Bards, Oracles, Clerics spontaneously casting Cure spells, etc.) are subject to this rule as well (after all, they are subject to the increase in casting time when meta'ing in the first place)

However, invoking a Meta Rod on a prepared spell would work quite nicely, without the time increase... so the Feat to be able to prepare into some slots would be all the more interesting when taking rods into account...

The problem is that in Pathfinder Society, with gold rewards being limited, it is not very easy to pick up multiple meta-magic rods to cover all your bases. With one feat you can cover every meta-magic feat you have on your spontaneous caster. This would also allow you the freedom to buy meta-magic rods covering the feats you do not possess.

The feat Arcane Preparation already exists, and can be found in Complete Arcane. For a home campaign you can just use that source. Since it is a 3.5 splatbook it can not be used in Pathfinder Society play. I was looking to see if an equivalent was available that was legal for Society play, since I do not own all the books listed in Additional Resources.
