Does the extra arrow from manyshot count as an extra hit, for the purposes of this feat?
I would be inclined to say no, because Manyshot explicitly states "your first attack fires two arrows". Because you're making only a single attack roll for the two arrows, that's effectively only one "hit" even though the single hit drives home two arrows.
Conversely, the extra attack from Rapid Shot would count, because you're making two separate attack rolls.

I'm gonna disagree with you warbeard. From the description of the Manyshot feat it does state that the 2nd error does count as a hit and other damage bonuses do count for it.
Yes, this feat makes archers even more nasty.

After having thought on it some more, the way it is written I would have to agree with you. Since the Hammer the Gap feat specifically does *not* use the more game-accurate term of "successful attack", but uses "hit" instead, the two arrows of Manyshot would technically be two "hits" according to the Manyshot feat.
My previous interpretation would apply if "each consecutive successful attack" were the wording, but it's not, so wrong I was :-)
