Woohoo, my daughter's first birthday on the 15th and then PaizoCon the weekend after? Fortnight of awesome! Fingers crossed all of Nevis Lodge can make it!

I've only just noticed the Christmas banner on our website! Well done Rob!

PaizoCon UK 2012 dates announced:

PaizoCon UK 2012 will run from 21-22 July with a pre-event Balti Night on Friday 20 July. So get those dates in your diary. Once again we will limit numbers for the comfort and sanity of players and GMs and we expect to sell out. Watch out for further announcements in the New Year.

I will try to be there.

I mentioned it in the chat earlier in the week; maybe we'll get more from the continent [Europe] this year... :)

Are there any hotels within walking distance?

Grand Lodge 5/5 ****

Mike

You can stay directly at the conference centre. It's probably best to check with Dave.

Apart of that - there are quite a few hotels near by. I can always let you know where I stay. Last two years was the campanile hotel. Very good breakfast, cheap and last year we had been a group of 4 staying there.
More fun if you don't stay on your own. I just don't tend to book early - but will stay at the same Place again if possible.

Dark Archive

We stayed at the Britannia, it's stuck between the mid to late 1980's, but it's cheap and serviceable. Right in the town center too, so easy to find/get to and about a 10 min walk away from the conference center.

I stayed at the conference centre last time, and I'm going to do so again but as FRI-SAT-SUN rather than just FRI-SAT. The breakfast was pretty damn good, and so was the room.

It was nice to be a 2 min walk from the games.

I checked the conference Center and they appeared to be sold out.

There should still be some information on the PaizoCon UK website from 2011 about other hotel/bed & breakfast/hostel options in the area. It may be a bit before we can get updated price information for 2012 up though.

Thanks for that Paz. Double room booked. Hopefully, I manage to remember to get the actual Paizocon tickets... :)

When does registration open?

Liberty's Edge 5/5

I may have missed something in this thread, but WHERE is it being held? Since the dates are 2 weeks after Paizocon, and one week after San Diego comic con, and I'm taking my kids to those, if the budget can stretch a little further we might be able to make it, since it's school and uni hols here. If I knew where to fly into, I could investigate hotels and leave from work as the only other obstacles to overcome.
All info much appreciated

I'm thinking of opening it early this year. Perhaps directly after Conception.

I was too busy wondering if John and Chunky had set up a TPK for their first ever joint session. Two in a row would be a bit much.

I'm beginning to think I'm the 'nice' GM in our group, despite all the s!*%e I put you through.
Lee and the other two actually kill PCs; I just make you wish you were dead.

There's supposed to be a new scenario, starring 'Miss Feathers' as our mentor.

All Dave's favourite players are down for it; he's pencilled you in for extra XP credit, in something called 'The Floor Show'?

Room booked at the venue for three nights.
I can roll out of bed, and come to the game in my pyjamas and bunny slippers.

Any chance of getting forum nicknames on the name badges (purely optional, of course)? It would help me connect avatars with faces, so to speak.

If you provide them on your booking form then we should be able to manage that.

For those of us that have already sent our bookings in, you'll just have to work from your prodigious memory... ;)

Why would you inflict the UK bus system on yourself! Seriously, get the train.

Also, booked the hotel for my first Pathfinder Convention.

Cheque will be in the mail on Friday..

On a related note..I'm not seeing a lot of PFS organised for Games Expo this year Dave..

Now that we've got the dozen or so GMs confirmed then we'll start putting up specific games ;)

Are there plans for a Grand Melee this year?

Coach might well be cheaper and easier to book than a bargain train ticket - especially if you don't know the differences between various train operators and routes. :)

Edit:
Let's not forget, either, that if (to speculate wildly) he's flying via Heathrow, there are coaches direct from Heathrow to Birmingham, which involve none of the horrors of trying to engage with the Tube system whilst carrying luggage... :D

Dark Archive 2/5

All booked. We managed to get a double room for 3 nights along with breakfast for £142. I don't mind a 10 min walk if it saves me £100 compared to the Conference centre. At least I can try and walk off that all you can eat bacon :)

Hotels booked for both PaizoconUK and Games Expo...bank transfer made to Paizocon account.now all I need is Games Expo to set up the online booking and I'll be fully set.

Which I believe will happen early April.

Looks like it will be all hands aboard after all :D

Now about those connections, whats the difference between Coach (bus?) and Train? I think we have EasyJet connection going straight to London and I wonder whats the best way (cheapest) to get to Birmingham?

Coach (bus) is usually cheaper but the train is a lot easier.

Which London airport will you be arriving at?

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/5 **

I've just looked the tickets up (nothing reserved yet) and looks like its Gatwick.. From what I dug up thus far, trains are much cheaper and have better schedule than the bus.

Just remember that a little thing called the Olympic Games starts on the same weekend and trains will most likely be filled to overflowing (in other words same as usual for britains Railways)

I think we're the weekend before the olympic opening ceremony, actually...
Not to say that athletes, etc, might not already be flooding into the country to acclimatise, etc.

As a reminder to anyone coming through Heathrow, queues of three hours or so at immigration control might be experienced by those who aren't from EU countries or other nations where reduced checks apply.
