I'm also going to start having Maeve look at a way to learn Minkaian (And probably Hongwal, if she ever figures out there are people between here and Minkai that speak that primarily too.) The former, I have an idea about.


Minkai and Hongwal both speak Tien, so you're already good to go there.

Malnival already identified the helm; you can check that spoiler for details. Harlan can't determine the sphere's power (failed the Spellcraft attempt).

Sandru appraises the armrings at 50 gp each, the scepter at 1,500 gp, and the weights at 450 gp.

Oh, I know speaking the regional languages too is probably overkill. The entire party probably doesn't need to learn them, but not everyone in the Dragon Empires speaks Tien and most people in Minkai aren't going to speak it every day.

Plus Ameiko will need to learn Minkaian before we arrive. Better sooner rather than later.

(I misremembered the other regional language on the path, it's Hon-La.)

I had taken Tien last level and planned on taking Ulfen this one. I hope it dosent matter to much, that I didn't ask or start up a roleplay type thing.
I figured he could learn from Tien from Maeve and Ulfen from Kelda.

Oops - the jade raven statuette is worth 50 gp.

@ Parity - based on the Vanguard class text, you have to choose to swap a spell the same time you choose new spells for that level. Sooo, if you want to delay choosing/adding your new spells, you can also delay the swap.

@ Maeve - I don't have the Dragon Empires gaz, and wasn't going to enforce it, but if you want to learn more specific dialects, that's definately cool from the RP side of things. I can see that Tien is more of the regional "Common", and other nations, especially on the fringe, would probably have their own.

Maeve, in the meantime, will be looking out for collections of traditional Minkaian stories...preferably ones widespread enough that she can find translations in Tien and Taldane as well as Minkaian originals. Copies with exceptional illustrations a plus, to help get a sense of what people are supposed to picture when hearing the tales....

Based on how I read the SRD, I need 8 hours total (1/2 time) and 800gp (20% off of 1/2 base price) to enchant Vision to +1.

arrgh. I'm a little repulsed by the unabashed utility of that spell, but whatever ; P

as far as damage diversity- i've got silver bullets, cold iron shuriken, magic fists, and a couple alchy fires for swarm protection.

By the current rule, you need at least two weapons for any flurry (You're allowed to declare "Unarmed Strike" as two of those weapons, but then they count as two separate weapons and need to be enchanted separately.)

EDIT: Besides, fits perfectly into what a bard does - make everybody awesome. Which reminds me, need to pick up some way to put alignments on weapons....

Hmmm...Mal, maybe a couple of scrolls of Fireball or the like as a backup? I can try grabbinga wand of Chord of Shards for more general purpose mayhem, but reflex negates on a wand kind of sucks, especially for a first level spell at this point.

Parity is interested in a ring of protection but I dont believe Maeve has landed much magical loot yet, so I'd defer to her.

I would take the divine favor pot though.

Boots should go to our stealthiest person since we have no rogue. we could use some sort of forward scout every once and a while. I assume that person is Heng or Maeve ... the no armor bit being the key?

Sell the spear and the ioun stone (unless we give it to Koya ... :) hmm, role-playing op ...

Also, the ioun stone isn't really useful to Kelda anymore - you have to keep it going around your head from the time you're young to see any benefits from it. (Or implant it like Stone-Eye did.) Maeve's probably interested in doing that with one at some point....but that can almost certainly be taken care of later, including acquiring a new one.
