Tanimoto was working at serving tables in the Dragon when Shalelu came stumbling in. Seeing Shalelu enter the tavern in such a state, Tanimoto rushes to her quickly. "By the emperor! What happened to you?" Without waiting for much of a response, Tanimoto runs and fetches some bandages and will attempt to bind her wounds.

After tending to Shalelu, Tanimoto nods. "I'll get you some ale. Those goblins got you good huh? I'll also fetch Koya to take a better examination of you." Tanimoto fetches Shalelu an Ale and will head to get Koya.
Mags passes the time behind the bar, chatting with several of the older fishermen who frequent the Dragon most evenings, and waits for the music to start. "Oh, no," she laughs in response to something the elder man says, "I'll not be goin' out in no boat alone with you, Dooley. I aint fool enough to fall for that kindly old gentleman act of yers." Casting a wink at Dooley's equally elderly companion, she turns to draw a fresh ale for the man. Handing it over she begins to say, "Besides, what would yer wife..."
Her words are cut short as she see's Shalelu enter, torn and bleeding. "Bloody hells," she says, a look of concern drawing her face tighter. Snatching the freshly drawn ale out of Dooley's hand, she offers him a reconciling smile. "Next one's on me," she says, by way of apology, and passes the mug over to Tanimoto, who seems to be on top of things.
Goblins, she hears Tani mention as she moves around the bar to join the elven ranger. As she examines the work that Tanimoto has already preformed, she says to Shalelu, "Torag, they did get y'good. What the hells happened?"
When Tanimoto finds Koya he shouts out. "Hey! You need to get out here you old bat! Shalelu is hurt and needs attention! Hurry up!" Tanimoto will keep pushing Koya to move quickly.
Eisen is enjoying an evening meal at a table against the far wall of the Rusty Dragon. He picks slowly at the plate of venison and pickled eggs, stalling for time until Magdelia's rounds bring her back around. He was enjoying their conversations over the course of the previous week and had hoped to continue their dialog again tonight. Unfortunately, her duties to the establishment were keeping her otherwise occupied this evening.
He looks up as the tavern falls silent. It takes a moment to recognize the newcomer, but instinct has Eisen out of his seat before he realizes it and he reaches Shalelu just behind Magdelia.
"Those goblins did a real number on you, Shalelu. Did I hear Tani say he was going for Koya? She should have something to help prevent an infection. The gods only know what sort of diseases those filthy dogslicers carry."
As he speaks, he double checks Tanimoto's first aid. He nods with satisfaction, but pulls a small vial from a pouch on his hip just the same. "This should help reduce the bruising," he says as he applies the poultice to the worst of Shalelu's wounds. "It's not like you to get ambushed so easily. How'd they manage to get the drop on you like that?"

"Wanderin' 'round in the marsh all by herself, I don't know what else she expects," Mags says, sounding a bit motherly. Satisfied that the ranger's wounds were sufficiently tended to, she lets out a sigh. "Do y'need to lie down? Koya'll be a long any minute I guess." She looks about, shooing away several of the tavern's patrons who are crowding around. "Give 'er room t'breathe, y' idiots."
Seeing Koya arrive moment's later, Mags steps back to make room for the healer.
Tani's current appearace He is currently wearing a velvet skirt that goes down just past his knees, he is also wearing a velvet patterned, sleeveless turtleneck top with the back exposed. His hair is done up in a ponytail, he is wearing eye shadow, lipstick, and other makup. He is also wearing earrings, a necklace, and a couple of bracelets for additional effect.
Koya his him in the head. "Hey! Watch it you old goat! I'm not yours to discipline!"

Upon Koya and Shalelu's departure into a room. Tani is probably the most persistent at trying to figure out what is going on. At the mention of being perverted Tani retorts. "I'm not a pervert you old hag!"

When Koya returns and praises Eisen Tani will snort. "Tch, I was the one who treated her first and did a good job of it. She could have said something nice but no, the old bat wont give me any credit."
Tani turns to the man with a rather disturbing but pleasant smile. He speaks in his best feminine voice. "Now sir, you know better than to touch the barmaids in such a fashion, I will have your ale momentarily." Tani shoots an icy glare at Koya and moves to continue to serve drinks to the patrons.
Seeing that everything is starting to get back to normal one of the bar's patrons shouts MORE ALE and bangs his empty mug on the table, trying to get Magdelia's attention.
"Don't get yer panties in a bind," Mags says to the room in general. "Takin' a moment to breathe between gulps won't hurt none of ya."
Turning to Eisen, she offers the man a smile (in thanks for his treatment of Shalelu, perhaps) and an exasperated, but good natured shrug. "They love me 'round here, these ungrateful bastards," she jokes as she goes to refill mugs.
Catching the exchange between Tani and one of the customers, Mags chuckles to herself and shakes her head.
Eisen smiles at his foster mother's compliment despite himself, "I'll take a room here for the night, Ma, to keep an eye on Shalelu. At the very least, I can try and make sure she doesn't go running off before she's had time to heal properly."
He turns to Magdelia, "Can I get a mug of something with some caffiene when you have a moment? It looks like I'm going to be hanging around for a while."
Magdelia takes care of the most noisome of the patrons, making sure to replace Dooley's mug first. Drawing a mug of spiced coffee, she returns to Eisen and Koya.
Handing the steaming mug to Eisen, she says, "Here y'are, hon. That'll keep yer eyes wide for a bit." To Koya she says, "My thanks, Koya. Happy t'hear she'll live a while longer. I suppose I should send someone to fetch the sheriff. He'll wanna know 'bout this, I'd guess."
Finding one of the younger customers, not too far into his drink, Mags quietly asks him to go and find Sheriff Hemlock. Though he balks at first, the offer of a free drink or two convinces him, and he heads out the door at a trot.
Returning to Koya and Eisen, Mags says to the woman, "You've taught yer boy some of yer skill, I see."
Tani continues to serve customers. He even flirts a bit with the man who flirted with him earlier. "Here is your drink sweety. Now behave and we may talk later."
After working for a bit Tani approaches Magdelia ans whispers to her so Koya can't hear. "Hey, I..I..I'm coming up on my break and I would like to take some food to Shalelu. Not booze but something hearty and healthy. If it is okay I'll go get the some stew and the key. Is that okay?"

Nodding, Mags says, "That's a good idea. Let her know the sheriff'll be along shortly too." She pauses for a moment, then adds conspiratorially, "You know y'shouldn't be leedin' those men on like that. Some of 'em don't like surprises." She gives Tani a wink, amused at his little game despite her words, and turns her attention back to Eisen and Koya.
Tani giggles. Oh but it can be so much fun sometimes. You thought it was funny when I did it to Sandru that one time." With that Tani chuckles.
Tani heads into the kitchen to prepare a bowl of stew for Shalelu. Grabbing the room key, Tani makes his way to her room. Once there, he will knock. "Excuse me Shalelu, I brought some stew. It should help you feel better." Upon recieving any approval, Tani will make his way inside. He moves over to her bed and sets the stew on am end table next to the bed. "Here, I brought dinner. How are you feeling?"
Eisen reveals a lopsided grin as Koya speaks of his training as an apothecary, but it quickly turns into a frown as she bring up his relationship with Sandru. He makes a point of looking at the floor, drinking his spiced coffee, or glancing at the other patrons until she changes topics again.
"I have know doubt Shalelu will be fine, Ma - so long as she doesn't go rushing head long into trouble again." He walks his foster mother to the door, "Get your rest. I'm sure I'll be able to handle anything that comes up. I'll be by in the morning."
Eisen allows the aging woman to get several paces into the street before closing the door behind her. He turns and walks back to Magdelia, "I suppose it's a little late to be inquiring as to whether there are any rooms available, huh?"
Tani moves over next to Shalelu. "You were practically dying when you stumbled in here all covered in wounds. Now listen. You need to get some rest. Magdelia has sent for the sheriff but for right now you need to eat and get some rest." Tani shakes her head as she hands Shalelu the bowl and a spoon. "By the emperor, if you consider those wounds scratches, I hate to see what you actually consider a serious injury"
Tani sits next to Shalelu as she eats. "There must have been a lot of them. Are they close to town. If needed, me and the other ladies of this inn can go out and tackle them if needed. Town safety is top priority now."
an exotic traveler of Tian descent enters sandpoint after her long travel across the crown of the world. she appeared wiry and well toned, but starved and fatigued. she opens the door to the Rusty dragon, enters and asks in common, i have a verbal message for the hier of the Kaijitsu family. it comes from the minkai empire. she faints as she finishes this announcement due to extreme hunger and fatigue.
Mags keeps her own mouth shut during Shalelu's speech about Sandru. Though the half-elf held her own misgivings about the man's ties to the Sczarni, and was suspicious of the past he shared with Ameiko, she did her best to hide her feelings from the elderly healer. Thanking her again, she watched the elf leave and then turned back to the alchemist.
"I suppose it's a little late to be inquiring as to whether there are any rooms available, huh?"
"We can arrange somethin', I've no doubt. And no charge, all things considered." She seemed about to say something more when the Tian woman entered, made her announcement and promptly hit the floor.
"For the love o' gold," she said, a hint of alarm showing as she rushed to kneel at the woman's side.
"She's nearly starved for certain," she says, examining the woman. "But I reckon she'll live. There's smellin' salts behind the bar, Dooley. Toss me one over, if you wouldn't mind." Looking up at Eisen she let's out a humorless laugh. "One of them nights, I guess."
Eisen returned the waitress's laugh with a sympathetic smile, "It looks that way." He walked patiently over to the waitress. If her diagnosis was correct, she was the better equipped to administer a remedy. Still, it wasn't going to hurt to lend a hand.
He crouched down behind the unconscious woman and helped prop her so that Magdelia could more easily tend to the woman. His eyes focused unwaveringly on the waitress as she took a small container that Dooley offered her and began waving the contents in the Tian's face. He wrinkled his nose as he caught a scent of the pungent odor, but otherwise did not react.
Having used the salts to rouse more than a few drunks in her day, Mags brow knitted slightly at how resistant this little woman seemed to be. "C'mon, honey," she said in her whispy voice, gently slapping the Tian's cheek. "Any time now."
Looking somewhat embarrassed, she said to Eisen, "Usually brings 'em right 'round..."
Tani returns to the main room. He makes his way to Magdelia. "She's fine. The sheriff is with her now." Tani looks surprised at the Tian woman collapsed on the floor. "What!? Another one!? I this going to be one "those" days?" Tani sighs. "You've already got the salts I see, is there anything else you need me to grab?"
the tian traveler was awakened by the salts but still suffered from her hunger and exhaustion that had been worked from her long travel across several continents. she appeared barely able to walk from fatigue and would require a meal pretty soon. her body seemed to be placing the best effort it could to stay awake. in her exausted hungry state, she asks, may i request accomodations for tonight?
"The sheriff is with her now."
Magdelia nods at this. "Good. I'd like t'know what 'e plans to do about it."
Seeing that the smelling salts are beginning to take effect, she answers Tanimoto, "Another bowl of stew'll do her right, if ya don't mind. Mostly broth to start, I think."
"May i request accomodations for tonight?"
"Let's get ye back on yer feet, before we start worryin' about where y'gonna lay back down." To Eisen she says, "Let's get her to a chair."
"Got it." Tani races back to the kitchen to get the soup. He carefully strains the broth as she puts it into a bowl. He then brings it to Magdelia. "Here, just broth, like you asked." After handing over the bowl, Tani looks curiously at the Tian woman. "Who are you, and where are you from?"
He nods at Magdelia and, with barely a noise, Eisen lifts the woman to her feet and helps her into the nearest available chair. He barely has his arm out from around the Tian woman when Tanimoto starts with his questions.
Eisen frowns disapprovingly, "Easy now. How about we get some food into this woman and let her gets her wits about herself before you go interigating her, huh?" He looks at Magdelia as if to get her opinion on the matter.
the tian Woman replies to Tani in Tian,
Tani listens and nods. She then turns to the others. "She's a ronin from Minkai, kind of like me only she is a warrior. She is looking for Ameiko. Her sister is a captive of the Jade Regent." She looks at the girl.
"All right, all right. Let's just let 'er eat, as Eisen said." A thoughtful look has settled over Mags as she listened to the conversation. "There'll be plenty o' time to get to the bottom o' this after," she adds, her voice distant.
After a few thoughtful moments, she turns to Tanimoto. "Maybe y' should go fetch Ameiko. Tell her to take 'er time, though. Give the girl a moment to get some strength back."
Sidling over to the alchemist, Mags speaks softly, "Maybe she's delirious? Sounds a bit... I dunno. I mean, Jade Regent? What's a Jade Regent?"
she reverts to common and looks towards Mags, the jade regent is a vile figurehead who gained his power through illegtimate means. he exploits the emperor's mysterious dissapearance as a means to reinforce his tight reins. she begins eating.
The report of new attacks over the last few weeks brings an increased attention to Mags visage; yet she can't hide the sparkle that lights her eye at the mention of reinstating the bounties. The rest of the sheriff's speech only serves to heighten her excitement.
After he departs, she leans back in her chair, openly grinning. "Well that's a bit of excitement, and no doubt." She seems, for the moment, to have forgotten all about Shalelu lying injured in the other room as well as the Tian woman and her tale. Then, adopting a questioning look, she asks, "I wonder what in the hells made him task us with this?"
Eisen listens attentively to the sheriff's story. He's prepared to ask why he chose the three - or four - of them to be his errand boys when Sheriff Hemlock mentions the Brinestump Marsh. Although the swamp holds nothing of value as far as the town of Sandpoint goes, Eisen had been wanting to venture down there to restock some reagents. The fact that it was ill-explored also meant he might be able to find some new flora to study.
As the briefing concludes, Eisen nods his head to indicate that he'll accept the sheriff's request. As Belor walks off, Eisen looks down at the last pulls of spiced coffee in his mug. "Guess that caffeine wasn't such a good idea," he says to Magdelia, "I'm going to need my rest tonight."
Tani looks at the crew. "Was he talking to us? Don't we work here?" Tani then points at the Tian woman starving in the chair. "If I didn't know any better, I think he was also talking to her too?" Tani crosses her arms and looks around at the other patrons near by. "I don't know about you guys, but I think he was talking to someone else. Whatever, we don't have time to worry about goblins. We have Shalelu to take care of not to mention the inn." He looks back at Magdelia. "What do you think?"
"Guess that caffeine wasn't such a good idea," he says to Magdelia, "I'm going to need my rest tonight."
Mags chuckles. "I doubt I'll be sleepin' much tonight, coffee or no. So much t'do."
She listens to Tanimoto, her grin wavering slightly at the mention of Shalelu. "Well, I don't know what Ameiko's gonna have to say 'bout it, but I'll be damned if I'm passin' this up. Besides, did you hear him? Three hundred gold pieces! That's seventy-five a piece, Tani!" And best of all, I won't 'ave to just listen to Ameiko's talk of adventuring. I'll 'ave a few tales o' my own to tell. "Koya will look after Shalelu." She looks around at the group, looking for confirmation.
Tani thinks for a moment. "Well, now I must've overlooked the gold. I haven't done anything exciting for some time now. My skills have gotten soft so I need to hone them a bit. Okay, I'm in, let's do this." Tani turns to leave. He turns to look back. "I'm gonna gear up. I'll be back in a bit." Tani heads back into her room to get his things.
"A strange one, that one is," Eisen remarks as Tanimoto heads off to "gear up". He looks at his mug for a moment as if to weigh the value of its contents. With a small sigh, he tilts the vessel back and downs the last of the liquid.
He then looks at Magdelia and smiles, "You probably want to get back to work. I'll keep an eye on our new friend here for a bit longer," he nods in the direction of the Tian woman, "before I call it a night. I should probably check in on Shalelu, too, before I turn in - make sure she hasn't gone and snuck out the window or something crazy like that."
Mags gaze follows Tani as he makes his way back to his room. "Aye. He's nice enough." She pauses for a moment, still staring at the spot where the Tian man had disappeared. "A bit of a go-getter, I guess," she adds, as though this were a revelation to her.
With a sigh, she heaves herself back to her feet. "I suppose you're right. Finish out the shift, and then I've got some packin' to do. I gotta admit, since I been here I've gotten a bit... settled. Not that I 'ave a whole mess of gear, exactly. But who knows where it's all gotten to." Whether it's the thought of finishing her shift, or just the reality of what they are about to do finally sinking in, Mags seems to have lost the school-girl glee she had a few minutes ago.
Turning to the Tian woman, she says in an almost motherly tone, "You be sure to eat all that, 'n' ask fer more when yer done. Yer rooms taken care of, it seems, so ye'll be wantin' to get a good nights rest 'fore we 'ave ta set out in the mornin'." Almost as an afterthought, she adds, "Ameiko'll be around tonight, I'm sure. You can say yer piece then, if y' want."
With that, Mags returned to the bar, lost in thought.

Eisen watched in silence as the Tian woman succumbs to her voracious appetite. Only after she has devoured her second bowl of broth – and eagerly requests a third – does he speak up. ”Something must be terribly important. I don’t mean to pry, but what exactly is it that has you forsaking your health like this?”
Tani returns to the main room for a moment. "I have a question. Do you want to go goblin hunting tonight or wait until the morning. My trade is more useful at night but if you all need sleep first then I am willing to wait."
"Probably best we wait for mornin'," Mags says. She casts a suspicious look toward the newly arrived Tian woman. "She's gonna need some rest first. And I have a few things to do t'get ready. Plus, imagine the fit Ameiko'd have if we just up and left in the middle o' the dinner rush?" She chuckles at the idea of that.
"You okay with that?" she asks Tani.
