Debatable Actions: The Non-Combat Resolution Sourcebook is a PDF that focus on the arena of resolving conflict without violence but with words. The PDF creates three systems can be used to adjudicate debates of various types from legal to political to economical. Simple debates are used for minor confrontations, "super-simple" debates for easily decided sidetracks, and complex debates for situations central to the plot of the campaign. It's up to the GM to decide which is appropriate for the circumstances. No Archetypes in this one I'm afraid. Just lots of neat stuff. I can say that the spells and items can be used separately from the system included and have lots of neat little social and mental bits. Definitely worth it for the more politically minded games.
I'm all for the reuse of existing Open Game Content - I think the OGL is a great thing - but based on the product description, I have to ask how much of this product is different from Dynasties & Demagogues?
The feat names are different, but everything else you mention in the description seems to be from this old Atlas Games supplement.
Besides a Pathfinder update, what's new here?
A lot of the original context and concept was from Dynasties & Demagogues but we made our system a bit more streamlined and added it new tactics based of legal system with things like Ad Exambuim, Caveat Emptor, Lex Non Scripta and Onus Probandi for example. We also updated the skills and feats so that actually work directly with the Pathfinder system, instead of the OGL 3.5 system. And we give you the system with card that you can play it as a "mini-game" in your gaming sessions. If you liked Dynasties & Demagogues, this is a nice update for it in Pathfinder; if you have never read of seen Dynasties & Demagogues, then this will be something completely new for you. Hope you enjoy.
