Thanks, Bron. I just got back and had a most relaxing and rejuvenating weekend. I had a fantastic time with a mini surf board in the ocean with my son. I ate like a king all weekend and need to think of a way to get some more exercise in the next few days.

Wow, just realized that Stag Helm would be killer for Ganit, even if only once per day. Free ranged sneak attack? Sign me up please!
Plus the fact is, it makes the target considered flat-footed so easier to hit. Especially if shooting against a rogue, monk or some other character or creature that relies on Dex for AC. Plus if Ganit becomes a woreshipper of Erastil (which he may, depends on roleplaying if he truely goes back to Erastil) then it'll be 3 times a day.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Yep - crazy dude first, loot split second. Unless Ganit wants to try on his new helm of horns. I was wondering why he did not raise his hand when that showed up, I know I would if I was a archer with any tie to Erastil.
he doesn't have too solid a backstory and have been tossing ideas around with you all. So far I get the feeling he doesn't like Erastil. One of the god hating stories of "Where was he when the crop failed? Where was he when my sister was ill and we didn't have the mone for medicine? Where was he?" however with the events in the stolen lands he might take up the religion again, it depends. He can certainly still use it for the ability and perception bonus but I think it's more of a roleplaying thing.
Relationship Status: It's Complicated
What he said :D But yeah, I love to see roleplaying like that where someone refuses to pick up a powerful magic item because it represents a deity they dislike or something like that. The presance thing I just added, which is why I said it just dissappeared. He was pleased to see someone more worthy to wear it than the stag lord. Afterall, he could only use it once a day :p

Aron - I realize I never responded to your email a few weeks ago. I'll have that up for you by the weekend. I drank a couple red bulls and burnt myself out after a page and a half in Word before I realized that I hadn't even gotten to the point yet. I'll be sure to tone back and give you straight answers soon.

That'll be awesome. No rush, same to everyone else, no rush but means I can do foreshadowing earlier when there's a chance.
Also I quite often write whilst drinking red bull, lol. Not quite four though, I find music helps me concentrait better.
@Bron: I believe it's Telias who has it as he's the only one in the group with divine magic...apart from Ganit in later levels depending on how many ranger levels he gets.
Carina Stigard |
Tellias has the wand I think, but Bron, you can use it as CLW is on your spell list. Just roll as many heals as you need and then post the total so that whoever has it can deduct the charges. No reason to wait on anyone for out of combat CLW wand healing.
Telias will check tonight most likely so that we are healed and ready to go on this assault tomorrow, or even later this evening if DM Aron is still awake.
The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |
Telias bought a fully charged wand not too long ago and we also bought one with 20 charges on it before he joined the game. I think you actually have the 20 charged CLW wand Bron. I can't imagine why Telias would be carrying both around.
DM Aron Marczylo |
If I had to guess, Cambyl probably has it on his sheet and we forgot to take it when he retired.
I think I had him hand it to the group since he would be staying here and didn't feel the need for the wand.
Sir Bronwyn Raslov |
Carina's right it won't do much, but thanks for the intention anyways Zorestar. That wand could prove ridiculous useful in any situation where we would need to engage in physical activities, say crossing a rickety rope bridge or swimming, since my armor has a -2 armor penalty (which turns into a -4 at Swim checks). One quick charge of that wand leaves me with the same AC for 1 hour sans the skill penalty.

Na, Wand of MM guarantees a hit, but only dies 1d4+1, you are just about as good with a crossbow doing 1d8 with a chance of missing. The Wand of Mage armor is a great tool.
depends on the CL of the wand being created. At higher levels it'll be fun to have that wand for when you need some force energy or just guarenteed hits.

Thus the difference between finding a Wand of MM and buying one. A level 3 wand with 2 missiles (2d4+2 damage) would be 2250, a level 5 wand would be 3750. For that amount, you can get a lot of other good gear. Plus, we have me, destructo woman with all the boom necessary.
Thus, my statement a few months ago. In my opinion, Wands are really best if you can effectively use the spell at the lowest caster level for the spell. A CL3 Wand of Invisibility would be decent, a CL10 Wand of Invisibility, while giving you more time invisible, is just foolish. Wands are great for long/longer duration defensive spells that do not have saving throws. Shield, Mage Armor, Enlarge Person, and the like. Boom Boom wands - Fireball, Lightning Bolt, etc. in my opinion are pretty foolish. Nice to have in certain circumstances, but generally not worth the cost.
However, if we were to find a Wand of MM, that would be mighty nice. Which reminds me, I HAVE A WAND OF MAGIC MISSILES CL3 DOH!!!!!

So do ya think we can get to level 4? That would be cool :)
Only a couple XPs left I think.
Yeah you aren't too far off. I've calculated the xp so far and you're only 1534 xp each off. Afterall, The Stag Lord was 9th level :p though lower due to the drink putting negatives and like ganit he was a mix of rogue and ranger levels :p.

Aha! Take that! doubt in my choice of character design!

But he died drunk and alone with a dead stag on his head, that sounds like Ganit.
