What hackslashers really liked about FB was that you could take ONE level of barbarian, ONE level of Berserker, and ONE feat (Extra Rage, 3.5-style), and have the entire rest of the build be other classes -- like cleric for self-buffing pre-rage -- and you would destroy anything that even thought about being on the same planet as you.sieylianna wrote:FYI - The 3.5 Frenzied Berserker is back for everyone who hated it.The flavor of the FB is back, which some people liked.
The infinite hit points part of the FB is not back, and I think that's a thing that most people didn't like.
What most people didn't like about FBs where their propensity to fall into a pit-trip, get nicked on the ankle from a spike, fail a will save and fly into a frenzy, leap thirty feet out of the pit from a standing-jump -- then slaughter everybody in the party with drool running out of the corner of their mouth while one eyeball bugged out toward the next target while the other wandered lazily off in a random direction.
Funny to think about. Funny to play if you were a CE player. Not funny to play with considering they could kill most PCs in a single chop, which meant you didn't have much time to "solve" the problem.

It's even less funny in Pathfinder Society where you run afoul of PVP rules if you try to defend yourself.

That's when you start dealing non-lethal damage.

Hey guys, I`ve been searching all the forums for this, but can anyone tell me where to find the 2 bonus feats for the Tetori archetype?
Crushing Embrace and Twin Lock?
Sorry if this question has been asked before:/
I was just about to post this same question,
i see crushing strike? is this a misprint?it is earlier in the threads and marked as a faq question if you search for twin locks you will find it.

The Bonus Feats for this archetype contain two feats that don't exist, I believe:10th level-Twin Lock and 18th level-Backbreaker.
also on page 61 graceful grapple says a monk suffers no penalties on attack rolls? is this during a grapple you are referring to?

Most likely he ignores the -2 penalty to attack while grappling:)

Those three feats were concepts that aren't in the final version of the book.
We'll have to wait and see what the official resolution to those missing feats will be. If you want the simplest unofficial alternative in the meanwhile, just turn those into bonus monk feat slots, which is the class feature they are replacing anyway.

Lots of minor typos, but I've seen few things that look terribly serious.
The nodachi is a two-handed martial heavy blade that deals 1d10 damage, has an 18-20/x2 crit, and brace.
Shouldn't this be an exoitc weapon like it's smaller brothers the katana (one-handed, 1d8/18-20/x2) and the wakizashi (light, 1d6/18-20/x2)?
Also, the latter two get bonuses on coup de graces, but the nodachi does not, despite it having a similar creating process. Shouldn't all 3 get that ability?
I really think the no-dachi has the wrong crit range..comparing it to other martial weapons, as written, its superior to the falchion, elven curve blade and greatsword. Even if it was exotic, its still better than the curve blade..who really finessea a 2H weapon?
I think it should be 1d10, P, S, brace, 19-20x2

Agreed. It definitely has a place in the game.

pg. 193, Making Called Shots:
this paragraph mentions a "Vital Shot" feat which I think doesn't exist; should this be "Vital Strike" instead?
pg. 193, Making Called Shots:
this paragraph mentions "almost impossible called shots" at -20, but none are introduced in this chapter.
pg. 193, Additional Rules / Saving Throws:
this paragraph is unclear in regards to the DC; is it the result of the attack roll (if yes, why doesn't it say so?) or is it the AC of the enemy hit (so low AC enemies must save against a lower DC)? The second sentence about the natural 20s leads me to believe it is the first variant, correct?
pg. 195, Called Shot Feats:
both feats talk about a Called Shot being a Standard Action normally, which contradicts the paragraph on pg. 193 which says a Called Shot is a Full-Round Action.
I really like the Called Shot rules by the way, they would make for a grittier and more bloody play experience for sure!

Point being that te weapon is a larger version of Katana and Wakizashi (more or less). So it makes sense is 18-20. I'd bet there is something wrong with the category.

Does the armor work with the AC bonus? Or is this an either/or proposition and written as intended?
Also:

"The chariot has all the normal qualities of a heavy chariot with metal scythes (see page 182)."
But the description in the spell deviates a little bit from that in the vehicles chapter.
1. A heavy chariot is pulled by either 6 medium or 2 large creatures, while the spell says 4 horse-like creatures.
2. The spell also mentions "metal scythes", which (sadly) aren't mentioned in the vehicles chapter. Were they cut from the vehicles chapter?
Not offical, but yes, it appears that the vehicle chapter was updated and this spell did didn't get updated with it.

Four-mirror armor: 20 gp, +5 Armor bonus, +4 max Dex, -5 ACP, 30% ASF, 20 ft speed, 40 lbs.
Four-mirror is only one listed as "armor" in torso table/descriptions and no entry in the arm or leg tables/descriptions for four-mirror.
With the current rules for Piecemeal Armor, if the four-mirror armor just consists of torso, the armor bonus should go up by +6; but the cost, weight, and max dex values are still off.
Only thing I can think of to include with the torso is either chain leg or chain arm piece depending on if that counts for "complete armor" bonus or not. Need clarification or errata. Or maybe I'm just an idiot and missing something.

Not an error per say...
Flowing Monk: Redirection & Elusive Target both call for an immediate action, meaning that only one of these can be activated once per round.
So I throw a guy to the ground, but I can't maneuver my body to dodge out of the way of his strike at the same time?
This kind of makes Elusive target a waste, because who is going to blow 2 ki points on something he could do better with a 1st level ability...
(Throw him to the ground(-4 attack or -6 if sickened) and/OR push him out of reach(can't even try + sickened)... all this *before* he even hits you)

In the wind stalker ranger archetype (p.68):
In the Uncanny Dodge class ability it's written "This
ability replaces the ranger’s combat style feat", i am pretty sure the intent was to write "This ability replaces the ranger’s first combat style feat" since the wording is different from the other archetypes that give out all of the ranger's free feats.

For the Falconer archetype-- there is no mention of the Effective Druid Level in the Feathered Companion class feature. While one might take this to mean that druid level is equal to ranger level, what happens when the Ranger turns level 4 and acquires Hunter's Bond?
I can see three situations being equally likely.
1) The Ranger's effective druid level remains equal to ranger level, and the bird gets full HP. (which is, I'm sure, the preferable option for those of us desiring to play a Falconer).
2) The Ranger's effective druid level becomes ranger level -3, as per Hunter's Bond. Or, perhaps, the Ranger's EDL is always ranger level -3, with a minimum of 1. At Ranger-level 4, the bird gets full HP for its current hit dice, but does not improve until the Ranger's EDL rises beyond what the bird currently requires. (Seems possible, but having 3 levels of an animal companion which doesn't improve seems a bit bogus).
3) The Ranger's EDL starts equal to Ranger level, but drops when the Ranger gets Hunter's Bond, at which point the bird gets full HP but regresses its BAB, Saves, etc. to the EDL 1 level. (This would be pretty awful.)

Pg. 54 - Magus Arcana - Pool Strike, Arcing
Those struck take the same energy damage as the primary target of the pool strike, including increased damage on a critical hit.
I don't think this was intended, but the wording here implies that if used in combination with a weapon with the icy, flaming, corrosive et al properties, those hit by the 'arc' would take this bonus damage granted by the weapon's properties in addition to that added by Pool Strike.

Keep in mind that the damage is d10, less than a greatsword but with a wider crit range, thus it is 'balanced' with the greatsword as a martial weapon. The katana and wakazashi both retain the same damage die as their respective euivalents (longsword and shortsword). They do however, both have a wider crit range, making them exotic.

"Net and Trident" feat allows you to use a net as a one-handed weapon.
According to the core rulebook, a net is already a one-handed weapon.
Also, though this is more of a complaint/possible oversight, none of the weapons state if monks are proficient in them or if they are finessable, despite many likely candidates. And none of the ranged weapons explain whether they count as light or one-handed.

The Master of Many Styles can, once he has taken the Style feat, skip to the third feat using his bonus feats. Just like the regular monk can take Mobility at 6th level without first taking Dodge, or Medusa's Wrath at 10th without meeting any of those prerequisites.

You mean it's not the Paizo which did the Core Rulebook (which had an errata with every printing)?
Or not the Paizo which made Bestiary 1 and 2? (Look for "Bestiary Errata" threads?)
Or not the Paizo which made APG, with a sizeable errata of it's own?
Each of the above won critical acclaim, Ennie awards and dozens of 5-star reviews over here and at Amazon, and I don't recall anybody trashing them for editing/errors. But yes, they did have dozens of small bugs.
Small errors happen, and every RPG book has them in spades. They only become a problem if they are of serious magnitude and/or affect important areas of the book, as it happened with UM.

1. Lots of people DID trash them for editing/errors.
2. I'm not one of them, nor am I trashing this (having not read it). (I've never trashed a Paizo product, I believe. I sort of have a crush on them.) BTW, hi, Lisa. ;)3. I've looked at the errata for the other products (as I do own those), but, IMO, did not find it to be the same caliber as the errata here (except perhaps, that Paladin smiting one). Many of these errata make parts unusable, not just 'off' or misworded. And this thread's still growing.
4. I find errata difficult to reintegrate into the main body, partly because it's harder to unlearn than just learn.
5. I don't accept that every RPG product has errata in spades (even if true, it makes a lousy philosophy), so won't rush to buy those that do.
So, I shall wait. And be sad. And not trash.
(And I accept that you might know Paizo products better than I. I'm poor.)

I don't believe that EDL starts at ranger level and then drops, i believe that EDL is ranger-3 (minimum 1) and at 4th ranger level it gets full hit points for it's current HD (that is 2HD). Yes it kinda sucks and i wish for an errata/FAQ that clarifies that.

The Advanced Rogue Talent Confounding Blades does the exact same thing as the Rogue Talent Slow Reactions in the Pathfinder Core book. I assume Confounding Blades was meant to do something else?
On that note, the Advanced Rogue Talent Hard to Fool has several issues.
Problem 1: Duplicate name. There's a (basic) Rogue Talent in the APG with the exact same name.Next, compare it with Slippery Mind from the Core, another Advanced Talent:
Slippery Mind: If you fail a save vs. an enchantment spell, you get one extra chance at the same DC a round later on your turn.
UC-Hard to Fool: If you are subject to a mind-affecting effect at the start of your turn, you may make a Will save at the same DC to no longer be affected by it. In addition, you treat no-save mind-affecting abilities as it they had a save DC.
Problem 2: Enchantments, by definition are all mind-affecting spells. So, by RAW, the UC-Hard to Fool is broader in application than Slippery Mind.
Problem 3: Slippery Mind works once. UC-Hard to Fool doesn't list a limit on recurrence, merely "At the start of her turn, if she is still subject".
So, two Advanced Rogue Talents covering the same niche, with the UC talent clearly more powerful than the core even on a 1:1 basis. The ability to get a save on no-save effects is just the icing on the proverbial cake.

"Not detected by any means." Great. Won't be any abuse with that one.
So if you throw a bag of flour, it somehow doesn't adhere. If the ninja is standing in the water, it doesn't reveal their location. When they get out of the water and walk across a dry floor, they're still undetectable.
If they're in a net chained to a length of tin cans, on fire, clashing a set of cymbals, and stomping through mudpuddles while screaming the Taldoran national anthem at the top of their lungs, somehow, incredibly, they're still undetectable, even to, say, Nethys, the All-Seeing Eye.
invisibility cannot be defeated, it was just worded poorly.
Part of being a ninja obviously is not doing stupid things to show yourself off. Or hanging around waiting for someone to dump a sack of flour on you. Remember the rules and exceptions. generally Ninja are not detectable by ORDINARY means. However given the Eye of Agamotto is an artifact, remember the one major rule that defines an artifact.... they break rules.
