But you have arrived in Tian Xia.
For reaching Tian Xia, all of you may increase your Relationship Score with Ameiko by +1.
This puts Kalimac's relationship with Ameiko at 31.

So, by now you probably have a pretty good sense of where all the NPCs stand in terms of relative power level, so here's a quick rundown of their general ability after their recent leveling (bear in mind that some of them are better able to handle themselves post-leveling than they were during The Hungry Storm, the difference in some cases is significant):
Generally can handle themselves on combat-heavy missions:
Shalelu: 8th level
Ameiko: 7th level
Zaiobe: CR 6 (equivalent to 7th level)
Spivey: CR 6 (equivalent to 7th level)
Skygni: CR 6 (equivalent to 7th level)
Probably can handle themselves on combat-heavy missions in support roles, and generally can handle selves during a surprise attack:
Koya: 6th level
Sandru: 6th level
Ulf: 6th level
Kelda: 5th level
Buttersnips: CR 4 (equivalent to 5th level)
Best not to take on combat-heavy missions, but probably can handle themselves during a surprise attack in support roles:
Helgarval: CR 3 (equivalent to 4th level)
Uksahkka: 4th level NPC class
Reta: 3rd level
Likely cannot survive any direct contact with the kinds of threats you are facing now even in support roles:
Jorun: 1st level
Bevelek: 1st level
Vankar: 1st level
Other:
Tollin (levels currently in stasis, inactive during combat)

1) Your trait bonuses from her double; you gain a +4 to Diplomacy rather than a +2, and you bonus to attack foes who threaten Ameiko increases to +2.
2) Trading insults with Ameiko has sharpened your wits and toughened your sensibilities. You get a +4 bonus on saving throws against sonic and mind-affecting attacks.

Your growing relationship with Ameiko is inspiring to you, and boosts your capabilities. Once per day as a swift action, you may give yourself (but only yourself) the benefits of Inspire Courage or Inspire Competence at whatever bonus Ameiko currently would normally give (currently inspire courage +1, or inspire competence +2.) Once activated, the effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Relationship Score with Ameiko divided by 10 (rounded down.)
And IC effects, if any, will happen in game.

Myriana -
SQ Enemies: .... Tracking +4, Trapfinding +5
Skill Modifiers ... +5 tracking (Survival), +5 trapfinding (Perception to find traps/Disable Device)
Tracking +4 bonus to survival checks to track.
Trapfinding +4 bonus to find traps or disable device.
2) Similarly, Wild Empathy should be +12, and you have both:
Wild Empathy +10 (Ex) Improve the attitude of an animal, as if using Diplomacy.
SQ Enemies: ... Wild Empathy +12 (Ex)
3) Once again, Weapon Focus cannot simply apply to "bows" - you must put it down as "composite longbows"
4) If you want your Favored Enemy bonus to affect Oni, it should be Outsiders (native), not Outsiders (evil). If you were going for devils/demons/daemons and their ilk, no problems, of course.
Once those corrections are made, Myriana is APPROVED.

Liothonae -
I believe at this point you can do it twice a day and in addition to becoming a Small or Medium animal, you can also become a Large or Tiny animal or a Small elemental. When taking the form of an animal, a druid’s wild shape now functions as beast shape II. When taking the form of an elemental, the druid’s wild shape functions as elemental body I.
Beast Shape II: This spell functions as beast shape I, except that it also allows you to assume the form of a Tiny or Large creature of the animal type. If the form you assume has any of the following abilities, you gain the listed ability: climb 60 feet, fly 60 feet (good maneuverability), swim 60 feet, darkvision 60 feet, low-light vision, scent, grab, pounce, and trip. If the form you take is that of a Tiny animal, you gain a +4 size bonus to your Dexterity, a -2 penalty to your Strength, and a +1 natural armor bonus. If the form you take is that of a Large animal, you gain a +4 size bonus to your Strength, a -2 penalty to your Dexterity, and a +4 natural armor bonus. If the form you take is that of a Small animal, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +1 natural armor bonus. If the form you take is that of a Medium animal, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Strength and a +2 natural armor bonus.
Elemental Body I: When you cast this spell, you can assume the form of a Small air elemental, Small earth elemental, Small fire elemental, or Small water elemental. The abilities you gain depend upon the type of elemental into which you change. Elemental abilities based on size, such as burn, vortex, and whirlwind, use the size of the elemental you transform into to determine their effect. If the form you take is that of a Small air elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain fly 60 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, and the ability to create a whirlwind. If the form you take is that of a Small earth elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Strength and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain darkvision 60 feet and the ability to earth glide. If the form you take is that of a Small fire elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You gain darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 20, vulnerability to cold, and the burn ability. If the form you take is that of a Small water elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain swim 60 feet, darkvision 60 feet, the ability to create a vortex, and the ability to breathe water.
(... wow, there's some pretty cool stuff in there. Water breather, earth glide, darkvision, scent, pounce, 60' swim, climb, or fly speeds ... neat.)
Other than that, Liothonae is APPROVED.

People can wear different shoes! I'm am sure this will greatly please some people.
I can do up a few different configurations of the security/scouts when I get to my personal computer.
If we can get the feat finalized that would help, because if we do raise our offense, then it is possible for one of the guards to be switched to something else if we need it without losing access to our Increased Damage feats.

Melinda: 3,176.7 gp

It would be nice to get my 4th lvl spell slot back, but I understand if that doesn't happen. Since security is important. Though I'm pretty sure Lio would much rather Scout ;)

:)
Lio gets to scout either way ~ it is just a question if the bonus goes to offsetting consumption or increasing security.
Quick look at the numbers ~ if ALL of our scouts switch back to offsetting consumption, then we will still need to cover 8 consumption daily with magic.
Spells being ~ goodberry = -1 consumption, create food and drink = -3, grove of respite = -8
Doing so also drops our security from +20 to +12.
If we do increase our offense, skygni or silmimeir could be switched to scout. This would drop our consumption by 3.
Kyrademon |
What I see on the sheet regarding Consumption is:
Wagon Consumption: 11
Draft Animal Consumption: 4
All Sentient PCs, NPCs, Companions, and Familiars: 28
First Subtotal: 43
Reduction from Cooks: -2
Reduction from Efficient Consumption: -2
Reduction from non-Scout PCs, NPCs, Companions, or Familiars who are not scouts but who are counted as consuming no rations for other reasons: -7
Reduction from Scouts or Spellcaster/Scouts on Security Duty (counted as consuming no rations): -8
Reduction before Magic (and before error is fixed, see below): -19
Second Subtotal: 24
Current Magic Offset from Liothonae: -9
Current Magic Offset from Hrunndalf: -9
Current Magic Offset from Alaric: -6
Reduction from Magic: -24
CURRENT TOTAL CONSUMPTION: 0
However, One Serious Problem: You have four people listed as being non-spellcaster scouts (Shalelu, Kelda, Buttersnips, Attatoq). The maximum is three. Your Consumption reduction should therefore be 1 lower. Unless I am somehow in error on this, please reduce your current units of Stores to 1 and spend 35 gp from the Caravan fund to reflect the replacement stores you would have had to purchase in Ul-Angorn. I will leave it at that and not rule that you starved to death on the High Ice, since obviously you would have made changes had you known.
CURRENT ACTUAL TOTAL CONSUMPTION: 1
This also means that one of the current guards cannot be switched into a scouting position; all the scouting slots are occupied.
Unless changes are made from the current housing arrangements, Spivey must be a spellcaster/entertainer in order for you to get the Royal Wagon bonus, meaning the maximum number of combined scouts and spellcaster/scouts you can have is 7.
So switching all available Scouts to food-gathering duty gives you (before the 10th level feat is taken and purchases are made):
Consumption Before Magic Offset: 11
Attack: 9
AC: 20
Security: 12
Resolve: 17
With either Shalelu, Kelda, Buttersips, or Attatoq needing to be reassigned.

... Since I thought we were allowed 5 non-casting scouts this whole time ...
We are only allowed 5 casters total, correct? Which we are also maxed out on.
One possible solution would be to switch Mel out to a cook (so that she still helps with consumption), Kelda back to driver, and Jorun could take the then-vacant caster/scout position.

Hey Kyrademon ~ I don't know if Spivey leveled or not. If she did... is there any chance she can take a rank in a perform skill so that she doesn't have to be a caster to qualify for entertainer, please?
Kyrademon |
Hrunndalf -
Ranged Modifiers - you are now at +2 to hit foes that threaten Ameiko
Special Save Modifiers - please note your +4 bonus on saving throws against sonic and mind-affecting attacks here
Other than that, Hrunndalf is APPROVED.

Couple of notes regarding the Caravan and purchases in town:
1) A request has been made that Jorun be switched to a Scout position (he can serve either as a Scout or a Spellcaster/Scout).
Assuming you are able to buy and sell in the town at regular prices:
2) With just about exactly 6,000 gp in the Caravan fund, the GM will suggest as a possible purchase 2 Ballistae (500 gp each) and a Type II Bag of Holding (5000 gp) to offset some of the storage space that gets taken up by them. Feel free to weigh in.
3) Ameiko, for her defense, is looking to buy a Hat of Disguise and mithral kikko armor. She has enough funds to buy the Hat of Disguise herself, but will not be able to afford the kikko armor without assistance. It costs 4,030 gp if unenchanted, and more if enchanted (1,000 more for +1, etc.) If you wish to contribute any amount to the "get Ameiko armor" fund, please let me know, and let me know how much. Such a contribution would, of course, count as an appropriate gift for Ameiko.
4) As I have mentioned before, the trade goods you brought over from Varisia can be sold in Ordu-Aganhei at 10 times their normal value. To do this, once you get to buying and selling in the town:
Any character (up to five total) with at least one rank in Diplomacy, Bluff, or Profession (Merchant) may attempt to sell one unit of Trade Goods while you are in Ordu-Aganhei (so, you can sell five of your six while you are here, if you like; the last will need to wait for another city.) Announce this IC if you are doing it. It will result in a Resolve check, which normally would return an amount of gold equal to the check. In this case, it will return ten times that amount.

Couple of notes regarding the Caravan and purchases in town:

Didn't we just determine we had too many scouts? Or am I misremembering?

Sure. I look forward to target practice.

Assuming I have gold left after converting Alaric to a fully operational battle station.

Though not as charming as diplomacy juggernauts like Lio and Kalimac, Alaric will happily assist. I suppose when there's a meeting or something, I'll weigh in.

Didn't we just determine we had too many scouts? Or am I misremembering?
You are correct; this would involve someone else being switched out, too.
As a note, while IC such a thing might be considered to be "Sandru's decision", I am leaving it up to OOC party decision as to whether Jorun becomes a scout, in the interest of leaving such decisions in the players' hands.
Kyrademon |
In the interest of clarity, since the question has been asked, and the decision is being made on an OOC basis, meaning you should have complete information OOC as to the reasons rather than operating in a vacuum -
The reason it has been requested that Jorun be switched to Scout is to put him in a higher-paying job. The main reason he wants a higher paying job is because he is making arrangements to have all the money he earns sent back to Kalsgard to help support his fellow ex-slaves from Asvig's steading.
