I have a question on the Bladebound (Archetype)for PFS.

Each black blade has a mission, and while sometimes two or more black blades will work in concert, each mission is singular in purpose (the black blade’s mission is usually up to the GM and the needs of the campaign or the adventure, or a GM can roll randomly for the weapon’s purpose using Table 15 25 on page 534 of the Core Rulebook). Some black blades are very open about their missions, but most are secretive. Certain sages have speculated that an invisible hand or arcane purpose moves these weapons.

I am assuming that the player can pick what that mission is and work it into the background of their PC themselves without a GM?

Anything is possible, as rule 0 (the GM is always right) can change anything. Personally, however, as a GM I would make sure that the blade's mission stays mine. It provides a handy plot hook, can take the party in fun directions, and frankly too many players would have the mission of the blade be: "Make this one dude as totally kick-*** as possible." Besides, the blade is meant to be unknowable in purpose. If you are the one giving your blade its purpose, you'll never get pulled in an unknown direction.

TLDR: At some tables yes, at my table, no.

ummm... you do know this is a PFS Forum? Having a GM pick it would not work since you would have many different GMs....

Also,Rule 0 doesn't normally apply in PFS.

I would assume you can pick the background(as long as it's not evil).

Most likely, the blade's "mission" won't come into play at all in PFS. After all GM's have to keep track of the Pathfinder main mission and a bunch of faction missions. Like many of things that you WOULD keep track of in home campaigns, this would likely be handwaved for PFS play. (like certain PrC requirements)

That depends on what the mission was, and it is fully possible to still role-play your PC and the Sword/Mission and a good chunk of that is based on the mission because it gives you an idea of the swords desires which would be helpful with role-playing.

That will be completely your choice. I'm just directly answering the question in that the blade's missions probably won't be something that PFS Scenarios will be addressing.

I never thought they would be.

My Question is that Normally the Player does not get to Pick the Mission, For PFS play it makes little sense for a GM to, so I am asking how does one select the mission in PFS.

It's pretty much ignored. At least that's the sense on how they handle things like this.
