Wrap up a project recently, Sean? Extra time on your hands? Ready for the weekend?

The FAQ has new goals that make it more of a monthly project and less of a "back burner" deal. Expect more updates from the entire design staff in the coming days and weeks.

That's awesome news. That's the thing that's most been missing in the last year or so -- a living game like Pathfinder desperately needs just that kind of clarification.

Did I miss something? Where are these FAQs going?

Kudos. This addresses one of my biggest ongoing concerns with PFRPG material.

Sweet!

The OP's thread title is eerily accurate in ways you probably could never imagine. In truth, the PMG, Paizo's resident AI, has infested Sean with a highly advanced nanoswarm designed to re-write his thought processes and render him into a drone that does nothing all day by write FAQs loaded with subliminal messages that are slowly bringing anyone who reads them under the control of the PMG.

ALL HAIL OUR DIGITAL OVERLORD!!!

*stands up and cheers*

Can it be true? We can haz FAQ updates?

He's a Cylon? Oh, I thought you said frakking.

Nice to have a current FAQ to browse through when needed.

Or more likely, the guy is just 11 different shades of awesome!

Thrilled to hear the FAQ is bumping up in priority - thanks Paizo!!

Absolutely. The current push would not be possible without the framework changes recently made by Gary and his team. Thanks a ton guys!

That and we know Ultimate Combat went to the printer long ago and Beginner Box was sent there very recently. So while Bestiary 3 probably needs to wrap before too long, the design team probably has a bit of a breather before the heavy lifting on the Advanced Race Guide begins (probably post-GenCon.)

Thanks SKR and the rest of the Paizo team for all the hard work you put into Pathfinder!

"Bit of a breather," he says.

Do not attempt to fathom the depths, mysteries, and vicious lusts of the Paizo production schedule. That way lies madness then destruction.

What are we doing again?

Are you ever going to add more non-rules frequently asked questions like "Are you ever going to publish adventure path X in a collected format?" or "When is the next printing of book X coming out?"

Contributor

That's more of a Vic question, as it's stuff that would go on the main FAQ, not a specific product's FAQ.

Thanks Sean for your hard work on this!

Any chance you guys will compile the FAQs into one easy to find and download pdf? I mean I am sure you find an intern or summon an outsider (I hear Devils just love writing laws) for this task.

Actually we wouldn't use an intern or an outsider. We'd use a robot. A robot that eats questions and poops PDF files. (Though we'd need a graphic designer to make the robot pretty.)

Oh come on! You don't have to lie anymore. We all know there is no "team". It's just the PMG, a rogue AI that has slowly become the dominate controlling force of the entire planet.

But how do we know that you aren't actually part of the AI and have come to debunk the truth by association?

These are really great news !

Thank you, Sean, for all the work you do =)

People have long debated the pronunciation of FAQ, it's a debate that has quietly raged on the internet for years. Do you say it? "Ef Ay Que" or as a word "Fack", or some people say Facts...

Personally, I think it's best to pronounce it with a soft A sound and a hard Q "Fahq". Alternately I think it's also acceptable to use the soft A sound and pronounce the Q, "Fah-Que".

When the vote comes, I'm going with Fahq.

I only say Fah-Que whilst make off-color jokes.

We add new stuff there whenever customer service says we should.

I've actually never hear ithear any way BUT FAQ (as in, just saying the actual letters)

To me, it's no different than saying SAT, ETA etc.

Like I said, until now, I wasn't aware there was even a question.

I posted to Jason and Stephen on Google+ how awesome it is that they're really starting to dig into some of these issues. From a long-time complainer about this matter, I have to just say, "thanks guys, your work is much appreciated."

That goes for Gary too. The red makes the new stuff immediately easier to find/see. Great stuff!

Spoiler:
now wtf will I complain about????

Well, I'll take this time to complain about the accessibility of the FAQ. I still can't find the damn thing.

There are links to other FAQs for the site and stuff. I know I have to get to the product page maybe? The whole thing makes me sleepy.

Oh, hey, there's a new sidebar with FAQ links.

That's helpful.

The preponderance of three-letter acronyms?

jreyst wrote:

That's obvious: complain about the content of the rulings instead of the presence or absence thereof.

For instance, there was the case where Jason Bulmahn suggested that Augment Summoning would work with a scroll of Summon Monster, but Sean K Reynolds put in a FAQ entry saying it doesn't work. ;-)

One thing at a time man, one thing at a time! At least now they're ANSWERING questions! Progress is progress I say. But you're right, the next thing we need to tackle is getting CONSISTENT answers :)

Also, in the very upper right hand corner of pretty much every single page on the site... "Help/ FAQ"

I missed it too, sort of blends with a lot of other links.
