Navior, on the map it looks like Corinna, Rajah and Gilfroy are in a hut, rather than on an outside walkway. Is that correct?

Yes, that's correct. Sorry, I didn't quite describe it that way. They just didn't all fit on the walkway. :)

Aago Belwas wrote:

Too bad my first level character isn't smart enough to request healing before moving on.

Wander, did you get the 3 points Rajah channeled for up the page? It was during the conversation with Old Foofelah, but he was outside the hut and did make a point of asking everyone who was hurt to gather around, so Aago should have been involved.

Male Human Traveler / 8

I honestly don't recall. I went looking for just such a post before I made the one you referenced above but I somehow didn't see it.

What do you think, Navior? Does that sound like a channel that would have affected Aago? I know I haven't added it to his damage, his current hp is as low as he's gotten so far.

Channeling post in question:

"The Blue Rajah" wrote:

As Gilfroy translates, Rajah can't help but smile at the last bit from the little old gnome. "Well, unless there is anything else we can possibly learn from her, I suggest we gather the others and continue on. Darkness waits for no one. You who are hurt, gather around and I can mend a bit of your wounds. I'll check with the others to see if they are in need of healing as well."

Channel Energy:(To anyone who needs it) 1d6
1/7 used

Not sure how bad off everyone is. Let me know if another is needed.

Rajah's healing was definitely intended for the whole group. I assumed he waited for the whole group to regather together before doing so.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I did. That's why I threw in the "check with the others", seeing how Aago and Corinna and Melon(I think) where not with us at the time.

Male Human Traveler / 8

Excellent! Then Aago has 3 more hp than I posted.

Javell DeLeon wrote:

Melon is in all places at all times.

Yep she is :)

Astute observers will also have noticed that she posted at 10/10hp in her turn earlier. Coz she got her heal on from our loving provider of life.

Navior:
A few rounds after the heroes left the hut, Old Foofelah would have gathered her hat, wig, jar of leeches, etc., and peeked out that side door before making a break to hide in the swamp, avoiding the direction of the moothouse.

No! You fool! It's a perfect chance to eliminate a perceived rival for her affections while taking no blame! ;)

If Aago was a goblin! Alas, he's kinda good...

But what if Shalelu likes bad boys...? :)

Dammit! That's a good point. Missed opportunity!

Aago Belwas wrote:

I'm not sure what sort of action that would take, Navior. Since Malan is unconscious he can't resist Aago's grab so it shouldn't require a Combat Maneuver but I bet the goblin in the corner will get an AoO. Can Aago use his second action to try and toss Malan toward Gilfroy?

1d20 In case you need a roll for anything.

Edit to add: Ha! A natural 20 ought to be worth something!

Well, it's a crit on the attack roll to hit Gilfroy. Now you just have to figure out what damage die a tossed elf does and double it.

I figure that ought to be at least a d6. Plus his strength modifier, we're looking at 2d6 + 6. Walthus should be okay after Rajah channels, unless both he and the elf go flying off the walkway and take another d6 of falling damage.

Ah well, collateral damage, whatcha going to do?

I don't know; I think elves might be crit x3 because of the pointy ears -- threat of putting an eye out and all that.

Joana wrote:

True. And then if the goblin decides to throw a torch out the door after them, there's always the possibility that both of them will go up in flames now that the gnome is covered with oily elf.

"I did my best to save him, Shalelu! How was I to know that they would both fall off the walkway into a firepit or that the gnome was carrying all that combustible material? It was almost as though the gods had chosen Malar's fate for him!"

"The Blue Rajah" wrote:
This is getting good. Let see what Navior says before Rajah does anything. You know, I figured Malan would survive this. I knew Aago would do something to help out. You had nothing to worry about Malan. Even as detrimental as that is for his character regarding Shalelu. :) (On a side note, I would also agree with Chiggo. Isn't it better to be brought down a few notches than to have your squishies...well...um...'squished'?) :)

I don't know; if he has sufficient squishie injuries, that ought to remove him as a romantic rival for Shalelu, as well.

Y'know, if he actually was a romantic rival in reality rather than in Aago's jealous mind. ;)

Malan, the elven castrato? The theatre in Sandpoint might be hiring.

He's already got all that silky blond hair and creamy, porcelain elven skin....

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Um...that's just gross.

Male Human Traveler / 8

I greatly suspect it's too late to get the kind of effect you're hoping to get. Unless the voice of elves never drop. In which case, an elven castrato is just a waste.

Sounds like a candidate for the Ask James Jacobs thread. :)

Grand Lodge

If this is any indication of how this AP is going to go for Malan, he is not going to be a happy camper.

I believe Malan is rapidly qualifying himself for 2 achievement feats: flame-tested survivor and the one about coming-back from the dead

Grand Lodge

Yes. He's have been found out. That is exactly what Malan is going for.

Dax Thura wrote:

The achievement feats, or the career path of elven castrato?

Well, Gilfroy and Rajah have just ruined any hopes he might have had for the feats, so castrato is the only option left open to him.

It also ruins the chance for us to learn just how high an octave his voice can reach. I'd have expected us to get a sneak preview if he'd started screaming after getting set on fire.

Couldn't Reta use an Acrobatics check to try to negate the AoO?

Joana wrote:

Yes, she could. Good point.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I thought withdrawing didn't allow an AOO. Does withdrawing over difficult terrain allow one?

Javell DeLeon wrote:

Withdrawing only negates any AoOs from the square you start in. If you pass through any other threatened squares, you still attract an AoO. There was no way for Chiggo to get out without passing through additional threatened squares (especially since Chief Gutwad was not letting him pass).

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Gotcha. That's my bad. I wasn't paying attention to the additional threatened squares.

Corinna Valdemar wrote:
"Hadn't we better go check on your pony?" she asks Gilfroy. "What with all the goblins we let run away and the front gate being the only way out of the village? They must have gone right by him, and he was out there all alone...."

I played with a DM back in university (this was in the 90's so we were using 2nd Edition at the time) who absolutely despised party animals of any kind. This included mounts, familiars, and animal companions. If you ever left an animal unattended, you could guarantee it would be gone or dead when you returned, and even if you didn't leave it unattended, he would do his best to make certain it died in any fights.

He was otherwise a decent DM, and his games were a lot of fun. But the animal thing was just weirdly over the top.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Just fyi; Got a list of the items on Rajah's profile.

Thanks, Javell. I'm no good at the bookkeeping.

Grand Lodge

That is so true. I keep the list in a couple of other games I'm in and it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of it all.

There you go with that monk balance thing again! :)

What is with this group and picking at each others' character flaws in public?

Hey, Nazard, did you get that 8 silver pieces Corinna gave you for the blanket? I finally remembered to take it off my character sheet; make sure you put it on yours.

We just have to wait for a critical moment for Melon to reveal the awesome power of double-1s ;)

Grand Lodge

Loot from goblin chest
sp 329
gp 112
hairpin with a red pearl 150 gp

There was a fan as well, but it has the treasure map on it. Once we are done with it, I suggest we gift it to Ameiko or perhaps there's someone else who would like to suggest it.

If Sandru gives us a fair price for the hairpin, we have 219.9 gold. That divides to 36.65 gold each.

Melon's lips are pursed in a sly grin that mixes equal parts mock feminine innocence and a sense of come hither. "You hurt my feelings, Aago. How can you say dangerous women make for good tales and then complain when tales are being woven?" She expertly nurses her mug of mead, "Or are you unhappy not to have a staring role in the tale?" She winks at him.

What? No comment from Melon about Corinna and Malan's conversation, too?

"I don't know. I think Aago would make a very dangerous woman!"

We're not at the Rusty Dragon with the rest of you right now. That's why we were using spoilers.
Yeah, but that's never stopped her before!

Maybe Melon has an identical twin and that's how she's always in the middle of every conversation.

Also, Corinna and Malan are totally off consummating their love behind the spoilers just to mock Wander Weir for Lorenz's failure to get to first base with Sasha in Serpent's Skull.

And, as a last note, am I the only one disturbed by the image of Melon and her 8 Cha modeling a 'come hither' look?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Ummm...EWWWWW!

I'm still trying to get past the whole Corinna and Malan item. The Melon issue is a bit disturbing BUT, not as much as... well... EWWWW!

Joana wrote:

Did you count the number of ale glasses Aago has on at the moment? Each one adds +2 Charisma to Melon ;)

Besides, other than force of presence/presentation, any real measure of attractiveness needs to account for the physical stats as well. Melon does fine in those.

I figure her come hither look is quite possibly the same look she has for her avatar.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Well, once you add the bonuses to Melon's charisma due to intake, it's all good. :)

I guess she could be cute in a spitfire kinda way. Maybe. Possibly. Yeah, I don't know.

Corinna and Malan though... still gross.

F/R/W: +2/+1/+2 (+2 vs illusions); AC 12/12/11; CMD: 7; Max HP 10; Current HP 10; Init: +1; Perception: +6; Sense Motive: +5;

Hey, just to let you all know, it's one of Gilfroy's campaign goals to "tap" all the female party members, as well as main NPCs.

You can all try competing with each other for Ameiko's affections, but it's all in vain. Girls like gnomes.

Three words: prestidigitation...at will.

Enough said.
