A question for PbP veterans

Gamer Connection

I would like to get involved in a PbP game. I like the concept, and it makes it easy for me to participate. However, I have never done this before. I can glean some information from just lurking here and seeing what others have done, but I wondered if someone could give me a rundown on the process. If I want to join in, do I just present backstory in a recruitment thread? Do I have to make a whole new paizo.com profile to match my character? Any tips on getting noticed?

Hi Stolen. There is a good thread in the OOC discussion page: >HERE<. You posted in the best subforum to find a game, the gamer connection. You just have to keep an eye out. Best piece of knowlege I can pass along: Don't get discouraged if your first game dies. Or your second. Keep plugging, and you will find many excellent games being played here. =)

I've signed up for four games. the first two of which died within a month. Don't be discouraged. The first two were a learnign experience.

Just make sure you really read the GM's introduction and show how your character fits in. Of course make a character you want to play, but consider what background the GM is giving you. They may be biased against certain classes. If they are running a desert themed campaign and you want to play a viking raider at least give some sort of explanantion as to how you ended up in the desert.

Some recruitment threads just want a concept and some ask for a profile. It never hurts to stat up the character to give the GM the details, but may not be necessary.
