Does a mithral brestplate have a AC of -1 or 0. I am not sure if the masterwork quality still gives it a -1 or if they have already added that into the mithral material.

You mean 'ACP', not 'AC'.

The Armour Check Penalty for a mithral breastplate is -1.

The general masterwork armour quality of reducing ACP by one is already included in the -3 from mithral.

Take the Armour Expert trait to get rid of that pesky remaining 1-point penalty. It works for masterwork chain shirts too. : )

If you spend a bit more on the agile breastplate the ACP for climbing on jumping will be -0.

ACP of -1. Think of the Mithral component as giving +2 to Max Dex and ACP, and the automatic masterwork further reducing ACP by 1, for the Mithral's description of +2 to max dex and reducing ACP by 3.

There are a couple of ways to reduce the ACP to 0, though. The Armor Expert trait is one way and the Comfort enhancement is another.

But just standard Mithral Breastplate is +6 AC, -1 ACP, +5 max dex, 15% ASF, and 15 lbs. for a cost of 4200 gp.

Malachi is correct. This was cleared up by WotC devs way back in the earliest days of 3.0. It is unfortunate that the language in the Mithral entry in the CRB isn't more clear about it.

Add the Comfort enchantment, and your Mithral Breastplate will have an ACP of 0.
