Curse of the Crimson Throne

First session, the party gathered together, responding to the call of Zellara. They went to the fishery & pretty much ended up in Lamm's lair first, killing him. Since the alchemist used a bomb, his cronies came down and the party took them out.
So now we have 2 of the party still in the lair dealing with injuries, and the rest of the party standing in the street in front of the fishery. They're trying to decide how to approach the orphans & are watching the start of the civil unrest.
A new player plans to join in our second session, playing a dwarven inquisitor of Torag. He just happened to be visiting the city when all he'll broke loose.
I can't figure how to introduce him to the party. It's 11 pm, the party is down on the docks & a riot is breaking out. So how should I make the intro?
Thanks!

The inquisitor could be hunting one of the minions they killed, having tracked him to this lair, once the PC's reveal the fact that his target is dead, and what he was invloved in, hopefully your new player will be able to roleplay enough of a reason to hang out with the PCs.

Oh and make sure the PC's know what a lying, backstabbing, piece of crap this minion was. How he'd be willing to betray years of friendship without having the decency to be upfront about his intentions. How he would just assume everyone around him was too stupid to catch on what he was up too and that there wouldn't be any consequences for stabbing his "friends" in the back. How he could just go ahead and badmouth his "friends" to groups of other people and only present one side of the story and never assume any responsibility for his own actions. And lastly, how he could interact with his "friends" and talk about how bad he felt about some of the things in his life without coming clean and adressing any unsaid issues there might be.

Yeah, make sure the PC's really know what this D-bag was like to people who thought they were good friends.

Easiest solution:

Fast forward though the "City In Chaos" events.

When you get to the "Nobleman in Danger" part, simply have all PC's roll initiative.

Inquisitor-Team enters from stage right, rest of the group from stage left.

An obvious, good-vs-evil conflict ensues (prevent the mob from wailing on a youth), and everyone gets to prove just how big and bad they are.

Just be sure to paint the mob as the common enemy, and <boom> instant party cohesion.

Wraithcannon, that was the weirdest thing I've ever read. At the same time, I feel like you are internet stalking wspatterson. That is weird.

In our game, the cleric of Norgorber's split personality told him to be at the docks to Devargo Barvasi's lair waiting for the PCs. I don't think that will work, but you can have the inquisitor...

Well, if he's "just happening to visit the city" then why does he care? He should "just happen to leave" then. Tell the PC to think up a backstory that makes it not your job to connect him in to the game. Give him some hooks, like Devargo, the Arkona family, the guards, Illeosa, the killing of Ghaeken, and tell him to choose and to build a backstory around it rather than just show up or something.

Not to drag too much of the real world onto the boards, Wraithcannon played in my last Pathfinder game, Rise of the Runelords. Unfortunately, his play style didn't mesh well with 4 of the other 5 players who played in that campaign, with 3 of them essentially being unwilling to play with him again. When I decided to start this game, I made the choice to go with the majority & to not tell him about the game in an effort to spare feelings. Having not thought of the fact that he reads these boards, he's now discovered that this new campaign exists & is understandably upset.
That's all I intend to say about the matter on these boards. To those who gave useful advice, much thanks.
