At the risk of mortgaging today's textspace for tomorrows...
Could you please not waste post-count with simple "Oooohs", "Aaahs", "Gimme!", "Like-button" and similar when a new release is posted? Please. It doesn't add to the conversation nor is it incentive for me to buy the product. To the contrary, if the post-count gets too high, it isn't a wise use of my time to try to get up to date with the thread.
Instead, perhaps you could nudge the publisher to release more details.
Or perhaps you could sway final editing with your wish list for inclusion. Whatever you choose, please be considerate of those of us who must wade through afterwards to get to the crux of the conversation.
Thank you.

The last thread similar to this was met with the similar responses.

Motion to move this thread to Off-Topic because it will soon end up that way anyway.
Motion is out of order. Read the damn bylaws - no thread may be moved to the Off-Topic section until and unless Aberzombie (including any of his aliases) has responded to it.
Motion to censor Studpuffin for improper meeting procedure.

Those things are done, and the random silliness or one word posts have never been an issue. If the devs stopped popping in and answering questions then it would be an issue. As for now I see no reason for every post to be serious.

Hello, ZenithTN. I'd like to welcome you and say thanks for your polite suggestion. As you can tell, we're a bunch of smart-aleks here.
I can see where you're coming from, but a series of posts agreeing with one another is one way for me to get a good idea about the mood of the messageboard posters. (And posts like that are contained mostly on the product release pages and some limited selection of other subjects. If they bug you, you'll soon be able to isolate those threads.)
I figure that the Paizo staff appreciate the difference between one person complaining that an adventure was too easy, versus a dozen people all agreeing to that post. One is an anecdote. A dozen is a statistic.
I look forward to reading more of your posts.
And, in case you're curious, a long string of pleasant, chatty, random threads began when one poster piped up and complained that the forums were way too long. That got abbreviated as "FAWTL" and the rest is hysteria.

Posts consisting entirely of snark will be excised. I don't really want another Fawtly thread here.
Well at this point I guess I should not post on this thread at all.
I get what the OP is saying, and why. Sometimes however I myself, have little time to post more than a casual "cool" so as to dot the thread and come back and look later.
can't we have more FAWTL threads Gary......please....pretty please with sugar on top?????

The fact is, "+1" and "ooo shiny" posts are relevant and valuable. If everyone holds their tongue until they have more verbose input, we'll be less able to gauge enthusiasm.
Paizo's fans are active on their site. If a new product gets a flurry of "oos" or a pile of "groans" and that's it, it is still informative in aggregate.
In the end, shame on you for expecting better from the internet, but moreover, this forum already has a pretty high signal-to-noise ratio. Microposts aren't just noise (like FAWTL) so they're fine by me*.
I wouldn't mind a post-liking feature though, it would cut down on the space consumed by +1s.
*FAWTL's fine by me too, but not something I care to participate in.

On a more serious note, I think the OP has a different definition of conversation than I do. Even though it's typed not spoken, I tend to treat posts as casual conversation (snark and all) which means sometimes there are going to be short posts. I say that stuff in real life. Why wouldn't I put it in posts?
However, it sounds to me (and I could be wrong) that the OP prefers a more formal sort of conversation.

Ok, now that you probably aren't even reading because of all the snark, which I would have contributed to had I found this before the "snark that shall not be named ban," it was a well thought out post. You really won't find that in the majority here. Sorry, but we come here for a little bit of fun, a little bit of news, and some socializing. I know plenty of people that answer people when face to face with one or two words. This isn't a cell phone text plan. You aren't getting charged for each text. The boards thrive with all of the "+1s", "want", etc. The +1 IS the established version of the like button on these boards. These all contribute to the friendly atmosphere that exist here. I can name other boards where it does not exist. So, just sit back & relax. This is the atmosphere many of us come to these boards for.

Having read some of the posts flying around on threads which were recently locked, I had beetled onto this thread, all ready to add a '+x' to the sentiment that politer posting would make certainly make things more pleasant all round.
I was bemused to discover that the opening post of this thread is instead apparently about posters expressing excitement for products or registering simple agreement with another poster who's already worded something pretty much the way that they'd like to say it. The only way I can currently see such posts being potentially problematic is if it's possible for a user to make some arrangement whereby every single post on a thread gets individually emailed to that user (is that what 'subscribe to a thread' does?) - in which circumstance I can see them being perhaps somewhat annoying to such a user...

You can subscribe to a thread?
