So - advanced class guide playtest... anyone interested in a run through a level of Thornkeep to see how they play?
Would be straight hack-sacky without any real RP or backgrounds, I'm keen to see the various classes in action... and would prefer to avoid the open menagerie that a Recruitment thread would require.
I haven't looked at the playtest guide yet, suppose its something to look at in the holidays as I suspect a lot of these classes will show up at PFS sessions pretty quickly so I should probably get a handle on them BEFORE the cheesemonkeys go nuts.
For those fun PFS Players who just loved the Foxglove Manor in PFS, there are two more spin-off instalments following it and the 'fortunes'/fallout of the Foxglove family.
Who wouldn't want more Foxglove goodness am I right!?
I might run those at some point out of morbid curiosity...

The ghost of the guy still craves Harry's longboat.
Meh, I'm half way open to the notion, but rolling three PFS groups along at the moment. That said, I'm quite happy with them and they have been going well and it has been a pretty good jaunt into PbP GMing - the short duration nature of scenarios means that people stay focused (or I simply have them replaced) and things roll seamlessly.
I'd have to tinker with Dragons Demand and run it quasi PFS style or something.
So with Berry not being long for being with the group I'm considering appealing to Zyren to allow a playtest class when he makes his glorious return all the more likely to do unspeakable things to these imaginary folk.
Now while I've been tossing around ideas on how to make a much more suitable character for the game that's not just "eccentric" (which unfortunately was all Berry every was) I question what the group needs.
Kyren and Tal are more or less sliding into support/arm roles for our three main damage dealers/hammers (alchy, Vaughn and Kenta). With Berry I was trying to fit into a control/anvil strategy since we had no good control except the occasional spell dropped by alchy. With Berry gone we'll run into a problem of high end rocket tag where we're trying to beat the enemy before they beat us and come out continually bruised for it. Given the rather long nature of some of what we've dealt with having a steady form of control to lessen the incoming damage is soemthign I feel is important.
As an FYI - I will be on vacation for the next week. I should have internet access most days, but will be unlikely to post other than in the early morning and late evening. Occasional posting by phone is possible, but it will be minimal.
Gonna be out of touch till Friday. Headed out on the road for a few days. See ya soon. Please take control of my guys as needed. I will try to get connection, but it is doubtful. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to you peeps who care. ;)
I think we have a good core group, but we seem to be back to trucking around with 4 again, with occasional 5th's. I am not too worried about that tbh, but it makes me revisit the question of a cohort via leadership for Vicky. We have awesome casty casty and a good healer and a 'scallywag', but I reckon at 9th I might bite that bullet and get Vicky a 'Minder' - after all, with Cairn and Vicky having so many bodies to bury it becomes hard work! DMZZ might have separate views though..
Yes, I'm almost ready to start my forth year of PBP. Solaric started in January of 2011. I had no idea what I was getting into. I remember trying to figure out how to roll dice. What a relief it was to figure that out!
Im definitely thankful for a close friend telling me about this site and the extreme luck of meeting a bunch of you fellow gamers that are much more into the RP than the dice rolling.
Well met and thank you all for a slew of great games.
I'm actually not 100% sure when I started on paizo, but I'm fairly certain it was in 2010. I'm just really so, so glad that Shifty asked ZZ to take on the Heart of Riddles campaign after the original DM went MIA. Thanks Shifty, and thanks ZZ!
I am also glad to have found this cozy little community within the larger, sometimes not so cozy (but still on the good side of the web) paizo community. This is actually the only messageboard I am active on.
Tark: first thought is bard, but I'm not sure if that's where you want to go...
While that'd help the group I'm not sure that's the direction I want to go.
Control is what the group needs more than buffs. We have buffs, that's for certain. I'm wondering if a good god wizard is what's in order here. HAven't played one in a while and I think it could fit my concept if I'm careful about it. I'll look into it.
Yeah, the smoking use to make Solaric crazy! Especially when Pitr blew it in his face. However, I did always feel bad about trying to put Pitr on trial.
How come she didn't free up Solaric from all the nasty obstacles that prevented him from marrying the Countess Livgrace? He worked through all of them and then he lost the prize in the end!
Because Solaric thought he could ignore Victoria's advice and instead set his own course - he tried the shortcut to victory. Even then she removed his obstacles - I wouldn't drink any pumpkin and ham soup for a while from less particular kitchens - but yeah it was destined to go this way, it was just a matter of trying to get poor Ricky his space and time to pull off his plan B.
Never mind, just make friends with the vampire and do it publicly, I am sure this will blow over.
Bonasera, Bonasera...
Trivia: We have to be almost level 9, and not a single thing has died directly by Victoria hand - a true masterpiece of Mafiosa class.
