My complete lack of faith in hotel internet has been restored. After getting back to the hotel after 14 hours offshore on a platform in the middle of no-where I was looking forward to a little PbP... when the whole hotel managed to lose internet not five minutes after I got back.
Hence the delays - but back now for a little bit, then travelling back to home tomorrow, then normal weekend service.
Feat is not required.

After that I have 3 weeks of study leave. I probably need twice that, but hey I'll take it!
Over the next few weeks I will have a lot of assessments to do, both for post grad studies as well as my TESOL accreditation. I have also been ramping my fitness regimen up, but come Monday I kick into overdrive ahead of a few events coming up, the bigger one probably being 2 Dec, so it gives me enough time to peak for that date (and look b~#++in' for the Summer beach weather)

Well, I'm off to see Rush tonight for the opening of the tour for their new album Clockwork Angels! I think we are going to have awesome show tonight! I won't be back until tomorrow night.

Ha! same here! i don't know how as I'm on my feet all day and working harder than I ever have wrangling middle-schoolers, but I put on 15 pounds this past year. maybe it's the collapsing on the couch with a beer every night when I get home.
I did join a gym two weeks ago and can see a little improvement. I had forgotten how weird gyms can be though. last week some guy was working out in a full on gas mask???

Good for cardio work, although I wouldn't be caught dead in that sort of get-up. My other pet hate is when people wear compression shorts (or bike shorts) without a pair of running shorts over the top; seriously, put your lunch away boys.

There's a lot of that fitness 'dark science' kicking around, and I am fairly certain its just yet another new fad that will vanish again soon.
Thankfully as I do most of my training outdoors, I don't have to see to much of the hokey practices. Instead I get treated to the sights of my local neighbourhood and the ambience of the local parklands. I get to say hi to real people walking around. It's all very pleasant.

Hey guys, been a minute. Just stopping in to apologize for the adbrupt disappearence. A mental health issue almost cost me my career in the military and I was forced to attend to that. Good news is both health and career are in check, but maybe not my image with you fine folks. In retrospect, it seems like it should have been easy enough to drop you guys a quick line. Sorry about that. Therapy and drugs have gotten me on the right track again. Turns out that a mild bipolar disorder can lead to peculiar and flighty behaviors, haha. Hope all is well and will be seeing you folks around.
Yeah I'm having a helluva day myself, feytharn. Can't wait for the wee one to go back to school tomorrow.
Bilbo, I'm glad to hear you're getting back on your feet. It would be an overstatement to say that "we've all been there" but it's certainly not to say that I have been there. I get it. Glad you're on the upswing and nothing too drastic happened while you were on the downswing.

Thanks guys. I got rough there for a minute, but it seems that all things are better than they were before. @ Harp, I am actually still finishing up re-training. I will be heading to Ft. Knox instead now. I like Louisville, Kentucky better any how.

Watching my son play with my RotRL figures... the Rune Giant and Karzoug's Statue are playing hide and seek.
I just finished an assignment, a horrible horrible assignment, and to be honest I just go so fed up with it that I have submitted what I can only call 'a complete dog'. I am just happy it is gone, and am so glad that's over with. I hate these Financial Management modules, they really suck.
I have about 3 more weeks of this guff... at least the next assignments are on subjects I actually like.

Shifty: a good mutual friend of mine and DMHW was in the habit in high school and college of what he called "wiping his ass on a piece of paper and handing it in" when it was an assignment he dind't like. He was also known often to make up book reports in Jr. High on the day they were due. Crafty bastard. :-) (DMHW, I'm talking about Russ in case you couldn't figure it out!!)
Bilbo--welcome back. If anyone here thinks the worse of you for your forced absence, send 'em here and I'll give 'em what for. I have some (very minor) experience w/bipolar, and I know it can be extremely trying. We're all glad you're on the mend!!

And it was a lovely night as well - some dude took of without paying for gas - after he was in the shop, being seen by me and four taxi drivers taking off being seen by all four taxi drivers who then stood in front of the shop for smoking. With a good description of him, the car and the (hopefully not fake, though he tried to hide them by killing the lights) license plates I so hope the cops get that dumb...
