I'm Rune and I play with some of these fine folk on other campaigns. Our lovely Tirion/Ailetha pointed out that you guys seem to be needing an extra player, is that right?
That's a classic question and each time I'm asked it I swear I will favorite the post...yet, I still type it anew and anew :)
You roll 4d6 7 times. Drop the lowest dice on each roll and the lowest overall roll. Then add the scores together and if the sum exceeds 75 you have your ability scores.
Starting wealth is half of the wealth by level table and you receive two traits.
btw: Shady, are you around? I'd like to make your entrance soon?!
Rune - this is pretty much what you do. Best to put it into a spoiler to avoid unnecessarily lengthy posts.
Sample of Rolling a Character:
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 4) = 14 --> 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 2) = 17 --> 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 4) = 8 --> 7 ** drop **
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 2) = 13 --> 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 6) = 17 --> 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 5) = 13 --> 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 4) = 14 --> 12
Total --> 80 points, this would be your character - same as a 26 point build. This is about as bad as you could get
I'm working on a backstory and would like to get a little more info on the region of the campaign. I'm thinking of a half-elf ranger (beastmaster), thus fulfilling the melee role required and adding some skill utility (I noticed you guys don't seem to have any wilderness-type-of-guy). Are you cool with animal companions, Zyren? Some DMs aren't, and prefer not to have the extra book-keeping.
@ Rune: heart of Runes is a Rise of the Runelords AP Campaign. It takes place in Varisia. You can look it up either in the new regional companion that has been published or in the Pathfinder Wiki.
I'm totally cool with animal companions as long as I don't do the book keeping. Some other players around this fire do it themselves and maybe you could ask them how they do it.
Poor Harry, stuck in the same predicament no less than a bajillion sailors have been in before him. Next thing we'll have Media rock up on him pressing the same suit. Then again, 50 gold says he gets Xanesha banged up first too.
Talk to Ailetha about her mother Harry. She will give you a good basis for not sleeping with anything that moves. Especially if you target for the night has a good chance of eating you.
Afternoon guys, sorry I wasn't on yesterday. I spent the day out and about on the town, first to get a couple of new piercings, then to a Japanese cafe for sushi, then the mall to spend more money than I should have on stupid things I don't really need. After that I swung by and grabbed my brother before heading to finally watch The Dark Knight rises, then the bar, then Denny's before finally coming home again. Now, I have some homework I have to catch up on that I overlooked by mistake on Friday.
Sound like a fun day (O.K. - I don't know how much fun getting the piercings actually was...I liked that doc when a friend of mine got her navel pierced. She got more nervous by the second and when the doc was ready she told him to talk to her, anything, tell her every bloody lie he can think of to keep her distracted, He said "Any bloody lie? OK, this won't hurt at all!")
Have good night everybody, I must log off now, nightshift gets close :-|
tattoos are the same way. Ive met more people that the only thing holding them back from getting them is the 'expected' pain. They have several great ideas and know just where they want them but are just scared. its a shame.
