Sorry about missing posting for a day or two; was at a Pathfinder Society con yesterday, and wrapping work stuff before the Easter break.

The sessions run 9am - Midnight for four days... one day was enough for me though (but I might sneak another session in) as the 12pm odd finish precluded me posting.

Pro-Tip: Edge of Heaven modules are horribly broken, all main fights ended with 1 PC still in play and horribly injured; I haven't seen skin-of-teeth fights like that for a while, and we pulled every cheeze imaginable. The encounters are a (bad) joke.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Welcome back Shifty - you missed us freaking out Celestra, killing the Div your little dragon brought to us, and several of us managed to escape from Tark's bottle of death.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Yeah I saw that things were progressing nicely!

Celestra isn't finished being freaked out I am guessing, as things are about to go horribly for that Magistrate.

Was very surprised about the Div; anything throwing around sandstorms and zapping people with mojo eyeballs must be well above our pay scale, or perhaps I'm just a little bit L1 fragile :P Might feel a bit braver with an extra level of buff on.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Won't be able to update today since I'm attending a funeral some 400km away. Updates will come tomorrow though.

Our sympathies for your loss, Zyren.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Yah hope its not bad-bad news :(

The games can wait. Take your time.

Anyone have a game that could benefit from another player?

Male Orc Expert 5

That depends. Do you want to murder dudes or be in a murder play?

I have a Council of Thieves game and an assassin golarion game in need of a player and the recruitment pickings have been slim.

So what are our future plans? Berry's about to set up shop either at the revive or her "uncles" shop. I'm trying to determien whether or not it'd be worth it to start crafting alchemical items to start tossing at people. She's got an enormous bonus on the check but sadly the craft skill makes it take days to get things like that done. I can pop out an alchemists fire in a day easily with increased dc's and progress by the day but that takes time.

Would like to know before I spend any money on grabbing emergency tossables for when I'm out of bombs.

Bilbo - you would fit into both of Tark's games. Most of the players in both are complete freaks. So, pretty much anything you want would be good. In the Assassins we would be best with someone of the melee/skill mindset over a caster, but really anything would work.

I don't really have *any* plans at this point. We got this side quest with Vulturan just as we had begun some R&R, and I'm not aware of anything else "going on" right now . . . I'd be fine with spending some in-game days doing "other stuff," Vaughn can go check in on his parents in the nearby town or something.

What is needed in CoT? I would like to avoid starting at first level. What level are the two of them? It seemed it was 3 for CoT and 1 for the other.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Yup - CoT is third - they are just starting the second AP. You will have to ask Tark what they need. I think that Mark Sweetman is in that campaign. I am in the other CoT that Tark is leading.

Look at the Assassins campaign, first of all you get to be evil, always a good thing. Also, we could use another regular poster.

I have a hard time with the evil characters. I never get all that into them for some reason.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

This is my first. Was in one other campaign that fell apart and tried for one of the recent campaigns but did not make the cut. They are quite different - any party dynamics are interesting.

VC - Sydney, Australia

I reckon the Assassins game could be a wild ride, I don't have such a problem with being a bad guy as its a nice change from almost always playing good-guys.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

That is why I tried it. Been a bumpy road so far, but I think we are working things out. It has been very interesting seeing how each player plays an evil character. We started with two non-combatant oracles - always a strange combo. One went missing. We have a witch, an alchemist, a ranger and an oracle right now. So pretty much we have everything covered, but nothing covered well.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Wow, that is an odd combo!

I can't see how an evil campaign would be particularly . . . satisfying. For one thing, evil is necessarily greedy and self-serving, so how can teh group have any real cohesion?

seondly, I'd much prefer to have my heroic fantasy be, well, heroic. Not villanous.

but maybe that's just me. :-) I'm kinda old-school and provincial that way, I guess.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Well I think it is entirely possible to be greedy and self-serving AND serve the greater good at the same time.

Even the dumbest bad guy can work out that he can leech more off a healthy and robust society than trying to live off the fat of a dirt poor village, so it is in his best interests to help them grow and become prosperous.

For anyone wondering how this plays out long term, I would immediately imlpore them to watch Deadwood and the machinations of Al Swearengen, he is the absolute epitome of BBEG (in fact best bad guy in film imo), but at the same time does everything to protect the town and make it prosper, though completely serving his own interests.

NSFW - Big Al and Wu.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

My view is that unless you are evil and really stupid, one realizes that there is power in numbers. Yeh, eventually you want to take out the powers above you, but the simple fact is that most evil groups have a strict hierarchy and most are willing to work within it. If evil was just a bunch of self serving bullies, there would not be much worry as they would just kill each other and the few that were left would be easy to wipe out.

It is the difference between Devils and Demons. One enjoys causing pain and suffering, but follows a strict set of rules - evil rules, but rules nonetheless. The other just enjoys harming others and does not care in the least about the rules or what the side effects are. As a difference you have Cheliax - a powerful but corrupt nation - versus the Worldwound - a weak set of fiefdoms that fight with each other and are rarely a threat to most others.

C@3ksucker, lmao! Nice, Shifty.

Male Orc Expert 5

Well part of it comes from experience.

But as for the games I'd ask kindly that you make an app in the recruit threads if you're interested. The assassin game will be moving to 2nd soonish.

Back! And no worries, it was rather a feeling of relief for most attendees (long history of dementia).

Ahhh well, good to hear (sort of) it was only bad news, not bad-bad.

Welcome back, ZZ :) Glad to know you aren't wracked with grief. My condolences either way.

Welcome back. Condolences from me, too.

I think I'll hold off on the CoT and Assassins games. I was never a big fan of CoT. But, thanks for offering a "walk on" shot at tryouts, haha.

ZDM, I empathize with the "relief" of seeing a loved one pass when it is their time. I get the sense that some folks seem to think it's cruel in some degree to express relief of any kind if a loved one dies, but I feel they don't really understand the cycle of life--everyone dies, and the quality of life is IMHO far more important than the duration. If you just live each day without regrets, you shouldn't fear death (at least not all THAT much).

welcome back. (and neat twist in HoD with the dagger!!)

Hey we've all had at least one Video8 adventure.

I have no clue what you mean with that reference but alrgihty then.

Video8 was the staple format for all the hand held camcorders until fairly recently... I'll leave it at that. These days it's all captured for posterity on an iPhone no doubt.

Lol, gotcha.

Well, if I were really going to have an orgy, I'd be sure to use a handheld camcorder and send you a tape ;)

Well both my CoT and Assassin games still have a slot open. Though I'm about to fill the CoT slot if someoen does not speak up soon.

VC - Sydney, Australia

I have already had moments of wanting to combine CoT with an assassination campaign :p

Can't think of a thematic killer right at the moment though :(

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

I would jump in your CoT campaign, even have a character which I applied with months ago. Except I am already in Tark's other CoT campaign.

Your assassin game is more than intriguing. I dotted interest and will propbably have an application in this afternoon/evening.

Character build question:
I'm pretty much decided about all my feats for Vaughn (dual-wielding dagger fighter), except for 7th level. I'm torn between Blind Fighting and Power Attack.

Power Attack I'd use all the time, and more damage is always better (considering the small weapon, and the hit bonuses I'll be getting w/weapon focus, dual-wielding bonuses, etc).

blind Fight I would use rarely, but sure would come in handy when it was needed. (I do currently ahve darkvision due to an item . . .)

thoughts? i'm leaning slighty toward PA.

Male Orc Expert 5

Power Attack definitely.

Though honestly the step up line wouldn't hurt either. You also don't have Iron Will.

I'm not familiar with the "step up line."

Iron will I was going to take later (much later), but perhaps that would be a better choice now . . .

Male Orc Expert 5

Well if you don't qualify for anything else now's a good time to grab it. we're nearing the levels where a fighter can very easily be shut down by things like suggestion.
