Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

I'm so glad things worked out for me to take this summer off. I was seriously on the verge of spontaneous combustion... or an aneurism. The idea of taking classes this summer while still dealing with this custody battle was nearly enough to make me sit in the corner and rock back and forth while mumbling to myself. I'm already going to have to retake one of the classes from Spring semester if I want to get my 4.0 back. My ex started all of this crap in the middle of a semester and it really took a toll on my work. I ended up with a B in my Comparative Cultures and Societies class, an 87.3% with no allowable extra credit or make up work to bring it up to a 90%. My 4.0 GPA was the biggest thing I had to be proud of in my life (that is about me, otherwise it's my daughter by a long shot).

VC - Sydney, Australia

It's good to take pride in a good result, but sometimes I have to point out that a messy win is still a win :)

I am surprised though that the institution doesn't allow any movement for comassionate reasones etc. I had a student who was being domestically abused by her partner (punching, kickin...biting!?), which I didn't know about until he showed up on campus and she spilled the beans. Was a pretty awkward day as I volunteered to be the one to walk her safley to the nearest railway station and of course the idiot was waiting enroute.

Anyhow, organisationally, we gave her a lot of latitude to 'gap fill' and get her scores fixed - her other results had been great, so it was a no brainer that she deserved the concession.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

It's pretty much left up to each of the teachers in this sort of case. If I were hospitalized or something like that, then the school probably would have insisted she offer me more leeway. As it was, with this professor I was lucky she let me retake a missed test. My French teacher on the other hand, was by far more compassionate and basically opened up all the assignments and just told me to get them done when I could. I left that class with an A.

Yeah, it's still a win... just not a very good win *grumbles grumbles grumbles, kicks a rock in the dirt*

Lol, that sounded just like one of my best friends.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Shifty is exactly the guy you want to be your best friend: I mean he knows the wilderness, guides ladies securely home, is good with numbers, likes military equipment...:)

Mornin' everyone

And grats Bree that you're at least a little bit content with the outcome.

Haha! yeah it can be a bit that way. I don't think the douche ex-partner dude will be sending me any Xmas cards though...

A real knight in shining armor :P

Thanks Zyren, and a good morning to you! Though, I'll probably be headed to bed soon. (That is when my child stops fighting sleep. IDK what's gotten into her tonight, it's nearly 1 am and she's still up.)

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Wow, that's late.

It's my busy Tuesday...as usual...so I won't be able to post until early evening. Cya later.

Yup, she finally fell asleep about 10 minutes ago so I'm headed off to slumber land as well. Have a good day, Zyren. Night Winter.

Male Elf Witch/10 (HP: 27/27; AC15; FF13; T15; F+2, R+5, W+10; Perc: +31, Init +2)

I'm in Eastern Standard Time, and I'm usually awake from 8am-5am give or take. I work at a movie theater so weekends get rather congested but I try to check as often as possible.

As the others can tell you, once a month I dodge out to go LARP so I'm unavailable at those times, but I try to give a head's up for when that will be- next one is July 4th weekend so I'll be off from the 1st thru the 4th. (going to be a long event and I'm playing my secondary character for the first time!)

Please give this a looking over and hit me up with any changes I need to make. Thanks! Backstory to follow. Do I need to purchase all the small stuff like water, rations, foot powder, ect. or do you guys play a game less focused on accounting? Also, how do you handle HP?

Shifty, you weren't kidding when you said I would wake up to a flood of post. I thought I had fallen into some sort of time warp, lol.

Wow. Happy to hear I'm in HoD. Sad to know I'll be posting my character a little later than expected. I have to make the trip back home (long day driving), so I'll be out and about most of day. I'll him up hopefully Tuesday night, but most likely Wednesday. Thanks again.

Zyren:
Before I get too heavily invested in backstory, how are you thinking of merging a cleric in with the group? Also, should I consider standard gold for a 4th level PC? What I have for the character is mostly martial upbringing, introduction to clergy, and then departure from the temple, all alone. While I'll be toughing it out on the front lines, I'm mostly going spell heavy cleric. Thanks!

How do you feel about the backstory involving Harl being a man in the woods known for protecting the weak and those in need. Kind make a play on the superstitious nature of Ustalav. Harl could be located near the current fray and rush to the assistance of the party should things turn uglier than they are.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

*short break from work*

@ Sable:

Thx, giving info when you're gone is great :)

@ Bilbo:

HP are rolled and 1's count as 2's.
Regarding backstory: If you would play a paladin of Erastil I'd say great, but besides boggarts there is not much to defend in the swamps :)

Karcau has the Temple of The Vigilant Flame though, a military complex dedicated to Iomedae and Sarenrae, I could really think a dwarven defener could find a place there, or you might also be some kind of protector of the tiny dwarven minority (about a dozen dwarves/two families) of the city, how does that sound?

But all in all, you have to be content, so there are just my 2 cents!

@ Jink:

Take the WBL chart and then use 50% of that amount to spend on gear.
Since the party is still at the Fungal Tower, the Duskwarden might have just sent you after the party, to solver their healing problems^^

You could then either be a regular Duskwarden are also a mercenary.

I like being linked to both the dwarven families and the Temple. I'd say it would open up room for several NPC contacts and give a dwarf a reason to have traveled to a peculiar area.

Dispatched to the area from Druma at the request of the unnamed dwarves, Harl finds himself with ample work upon arriving and establishes a base of operations with the Temple of the Vigilant Flame. From here he recieves word a paladin and his group headed into the swamp to retrieve a kidnapped woman and haven't been heard from since. Deciding it is a good idea to go investigate he heads off to find them with a local guide.

I know this pretty sparse, but you said you'd like a pretty vanilla background, haha. If this sounds like we are on the right path, then I will work up a detailed version with some background in Druma.

Here are the HP dice rolls, assuming max at level 1,also.

1d10 ⇒ 10
1d10 ⇒ 9
1d10 ⇒ 3

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

So I've decided not to do jack squat today, not even get dressed. Happy Summer Solstice people.

You certainly had me fooled! I do have a great deal of respect for dragons, and I could have seen this end very badly! I could have been killed, or even worse, de-knighted! :p

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

@ Bree: Have fun doing nothing :)

@ Solaric: Yeah, de-knighted, lol. I have to admit I'm beginning to feel miserable about the poor dragon...

@ Everyone: I'm off for today, see you all tomorrow

Male Halforc Ranger 5

I had a super fun solstice, woke up deaf in one ear and then a few hours later suddenly felt like someone was trying to jam an icepick into my brain through the side of my head. Went to the doctor type person and they informed me that I somehow have an infection behind my eardrum and I have to take a load of antibiotics and be in pain until it goes away.
Woo yeah ears!

I apologise for my lack of posting. Real life is getting worse.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Night Zyren.

Sorry to hear that, Kanyk. I had a bit of an earache a couple of days ago but it's fine now. I think I had water trapped in there.

Venture Captain since December 2014

Good night, Zyren. I will try and leave you a wall to read for the morning.

Getting ready to head out for some mandatory Army fun. This is where they take something that should be really cool, then suck all the fun out of it and make you do it all day in the sun, lol. I wonder when they realize they could have us farm gold for WoW. ;) See you guys later.

@ Kanyk: Aww, that sucks, but as long as it's only pain it's at least quite...OK...:/

@ Nieve: I hope all turns out well for you. Even though it sounds like an arbitrary statement, I rellay hope you feel better soon. You should definitely slay more goblins ^^

@ Kyren: They speak Dwarven all the time, yet they understand Common and are able to speak it, they're just not so willing :)

@ Solraic: Your threats can't impress me *shudder*

@ Sable: Gnome day? What am I supposed to celebrate? I fear I'm to tall for gnome day *sigh*

@ Bilbo:Are you a member of the reserve?

@ The Solstice Worshippers: I'm surprised that this is such a big deal in your countries, in Germany no one, besides the pagans, cares about it, weirdo.

@ All: Good Morning!

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Zyren, I am pagan. Otherwise, few who aren't pagan care about it in the USA other than to mention that it simply is.

I know alllll about it.

It's winter here, so now we get to do all that stuff in the freezing cold.

In summer we do all that on 40c days.

You freeze, or you boil. Or they send you into the desert where you boil all day and then freeze all night, but make sure you are clean shaven by 0500 - it's good for morale.

There never seems to be a happy middle ground.

But the toys are pretty good.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

@ Bree: That explains it :) In Germany the amount of pagans is growing I think, at least there is a growing number of documentaries about them on TV. I came in contact with it because of a wicca ex-girlfriend (the hawt nurse lol).

Paganism, in it's varying forms, has been on the rise in many places. For some people, of whom make me sick, it's because it's seen as the cool thing to be. For others its more of a "coming out of the broom closet" thing. Now that it's becoming more and more socially acceptable to be a pagan, more and more pagans are letting themselves be known as such. For still others, learning that there are other theologies out there often leads to the exploration of these ideals, and as with most things, when a person finds something in their explorations that they feel to be a fundamental truth, they adopt it as their own viewpoint.

Hurray for hawt nurses :) Bonus for dating a pagan hawt nurse ;)

I just read about the case of James Verone, the guy who robbed a bank (1$) just to be sent to prison, so he could receive medical treatment.
People without having an insurrance are not treated at all in the US?
That made wme wonder how expensicve health insurrances are?! In Germany it's literally impossible to be not insured (unless you are homeless and live on the streets).
