Uh, looks like split decision between Riddles and Runes by now
Tirion: Runes
Harpwizard: no vote
Stiehl9s: RiddlesShifty: Riddles
Spaz: Ruins (I guess that will be nearly impossible, since even before my hibernation we had lost pretty much everyone ;) )
Rose: Riddles and Light
Karlan: Runes
Dunno whether the others still check this thread regularly, but let's hope for the best and wait for their votes.

Do you think it's possible to kinda transfer the characters from both games into one? Not really eh...can't imagine Bree being outside of Riddles.
Twilightrose |
I could totally do Bree in Runes, but would I be keeping Alana in Runes as well? I have absolutely no issue playing two characters in one campaign, I kinda like the idea. I'd also be interested to see how you got that worked into the story.
Tirion Jörðhár |
I cannot figure out Rune/Marek. He still posts from time to time under his main Rune alias, but does not seem to post at all on the games I am in with him. Admittedly the other one is also going REALLY slow, however I would still expect an occasional post and I have not seen any in months. You can PM him, but I would consider him lost at this point.

I'm far more attached to Bree than Alana. I don't feel like I got to develop Alana very well, I don't feel like she was the best fit for that group and has become little other than Celestra's lover. Which is cool, I don't mind playing, but it's not really satisfying as a main (only) rp character. Like I said though, I could play them both if that's how it works out. I actually have no active campaigns anymore as a player, and just one that I'm DMing.

Think so. That said, we were merrily smashing an Ogre fort last I checked, we might need to use smoke and mirrors and assume the pace is trashed or something so we can move along... those combats were taking forever, and its probably not good bonding time. That said, I considered quite a worthwhile hook involving a few dead rangers and a bunch of Varisian Riddleportians arriving...
Kabal Breven |
"What's this? Kabal referencing gods? Perhaps Winter rubbed off on you more than you realize."
"From a little acorn of hope grows the mighty oak of faith..."
Bah! Don't go getting it twisted. I know them bastards are out there. Id just rather punch one right in the teeth then bend a knee to him.
Heavy Harry |
Harry clearly has trust issues, as every NPC we meet seems to be on the line between 'dick mover' and 'evil nemesis'. That said, I can see word getting back to Riddleport, Harry's home town, and a bunch of fellow scallywags, scoundrels and ne'er-do-wells answering his call. Harry had actually sent a secret message unbeknownst to the party on the side when he 'took the ranger back to Turtleback Ferry' (touch wood he was never found).
On a more 'bonding' level, Harry is a dirty orphan wharf rat who grew up with a pack of rats, perhaps one of them was the new guys. Besides which I can see a few things for Karlan to do as well.
Bree Longfield |
He could have very easily known Bree.
Two years later, in a town called Riddleport, Bree was separated from Brandon when they were caught trying to steal food being brought in from a ship. The captain of the ship forced them aboard, intent to put them to work aboard the ship. Brandon insisted that they jump over board as soon as they had the chance, and swim back to land. Although only a few moments older than her, he was always quite protective of her and said that, a ship full of brutes was no place for a young woman to be.
Scared out of her mind, Bree jumped from the ship. Hitting the water knocked the air from her lungs; she had not imagined it could hurt so much. Barely able to find her way back to the surface, disoriented, she turned in the water to see that men had grabbed a hold of Brandon and were pulling him back from the edge. Others were pointing down at her and cursing, while Brandon yelled over and over for her to swim. So, swim she did.
That was the last time she ever saw Brandon, that night she killed a man for the first time when he stumbled upon her sleeping in an alley way and thought to have his way with her. A week later, she met Copper. Copper was a local street urchin, he said he didn’t really know how old he was anymore, and he couldn’t remember what his real name had been, but he appeared to be in his late teens. He introduced her to several other young, homeless teenagers who were all squatting in a rundown warehouse.
He took her under his wing and taught her how to fight, he taught her how to survive and most importantly, he gave her the thing she needed most… another person to lean on. The only thing he ever asked in return was that she bring in her share to support the group as well.
When Bree was 17 years old, Copper was mortally wounded in a knife fight with a rival group. That night, Bree killed her second man, avenging the death of Copper.
Once again feeling lost, and long since having learned not to trust others too easily, Bree left the group to find her own way in life. Without Copper, she simply did not feel the connection to the others, and in fact, didn’t seem to feel the connection to much of anything anymore.
A few weeks later, while in a tavern, she saw the city guards post a Wanted sign in regards to the capture of man wanted for murder, it promised that a reward would be given upon the verification of the prisoner’s identity. When she stumbled upon the man a couple of days later, over hearing him talk to two other men about the bounty, she decided to follow him.
Silently moving through the streets, a plan all laid out in her mind, she followed him to the docks. Just as she was about to make her move, she felt a strong hand close around her arm. She spun to face the assailant, but instead received a sharp blow to her head and the world went black.
When she came too, she found herself sitting in a chair with her hands and legs tied. The room smelled strongly of salt and rotted wood, the rocking sensation confirmed for her that she was on a ship. Certain that she was going to die on this ship, and uncertain as to whether she even cared, Bree put up no struggle and answered all of the questions the man asked of her. In the end, when it was a job as a bounty hunter he offered her, instead of the sharp end of a knife, Bree could only blink her eyes in shock. He smiled a crooked smile, united her from the chair and introduced himself only as Jefferson.
Three years later, Bree has found herself once again near the docks in Riddleport. Watching men load and unload ships, wondering if any of those men could be Brandon. Wondering if she would recognize him if they were.

True.
'Heavy Harry', a Half Orc Rogue (Thug). A cigar chomping crossbow slinging debt collecting scallywag with a 'sort of rustic charm' that sees him do well with the fairer sex.
He isn't a bad fellow really, in fact most people find him “very reasonable”, with a clear cut sense of fair play and with very good manners (until business has to get untidy, then he’s a monster). If it is in the contract, it is in the contract, he isn’t one to judge the right or wrong of it, just to carry out his work without fuss and with minimal bother.
Harry is a Half Orc and his sheer brutish mass gives away the heritage, however his features also belie the Elven side of his ancestry leaving him handsome and chisel jawed. A complete hit with tavern wenches everywhere.
Harry was conceived (and quickly ‘orphaned’) in Riddleport, running as an urchin until he was taken in by one of the ‘rental wife houses’ out of pity as an odd job boy, and later acting as minder for the ladies – ensuring they had no trouble collecting their due at the end of an evening. What he lacked in formal schooling he quickly made up for in street smarts given such an environment; similarly it taught him a fair deal about people from all walks of life – how to make the men fear him, how to make the women love him. His reputation grew quickly and he was soon pulling in the coin hiring out as a debt collector, his pure bred Rottweiler named Thumper loyally at his side and adding to his overall menace; he was also sought after for his tact and his smooth way of getting the job done without undue force... a hard stare and a few hard words being all it usually took to part a debtor from his coin.
Recently declared by the crew of the visiting merchantman The Slippery Eel as "the most intimidating brute they'd ever met" (meaning they met him after declaring they couldn't pay their sundry debts to the local innkeepers) they offered him a job as a guardsman aboard the ship for quick voyages between Riddleport and Magnimar; they figured if he scared the pants off them he’d be a charm against pirates and brigands.
Luck wasn’t to be with them on this latest journey, however. Just days ago The Slippery Eel went down after a fire tore through the belowdecks (easily sunk due to her poor condition), she limped close to a bit of shoreline between Sandpoint and Windsong Abbey before slipping under the waves with most of her crew. Had it not been for Thumper rousing him and helping drag the semi-conscious Harry from his hammock and guiding him above decks it is likely he would have shared their fate. Making it ashore with only the clothes on his back and his faithful sidekick Thumper by his side, he joined the few survivors in the sombre walk to civilisation where they all then parted company. Harry lacking any coin or anything of value is now stranded in the town of Sandpoint.
Kabal is from Brevoy, Bree from Riddleport, Sable I'm not sure.

I'm down to tie in Bree and Harry's pasts if that works for everyone. Bree is loyal enough to those she knows or knew well enough to come to aid if called on. It might be begrudgingly done, but she would do it nonetheless.
Haha, I don't think Zyren ever intended for that to happen but was just using that as a good reason for us to go do what we were suppose to do. Though it would be a significant moment for Bree, otherwise, she'll never stop looking.
