Interesting that it fits with Alcheringas early musings in the campaign, the same philosophy that has a Druid with 'Profession:Golemsmith' and an interest in how the breath of Magic can be bonded into items that were otherwise mundane and create 'life'.
We really lack in the 'blunt force trauma' frontline we used to have - we had Pitr and we had Harl, and both of those could dish out the beatdowns on the frontline really well. Now we have Solaric, who is great at what he does, but he needs a buddy up there :)
Guess its fairer if we choose one of you before you have to go through the ordeal of charcter creation - uh, HOL gyes I'm not sure how to handle this - draw matches?! :)
I figure the winners are the people who get to sit in the pub and enjoy a brew every night. Not the ones who are getting ravaged by demon hordes and rampaging dragons every day.
Man, I should have jumped into the fray, this would be a fine character. Perhaps I will use this if I get killed in another campaign or decide to join something else.
What's the weather like? Its Karcau in the dark heart of Ustalav, land of the creatures from childrens bedtime horror. It is perpetually gloomy and dark, and it always rains the tears of suffering and fear from the people :p
Have a read up... but yeah its all very Game of Thrones.
We have some kind of undead lord with his armies of darkness about to lay siege to the city. We've fought his avatars/puppets/etc a lot.
Solaric had his eyes set on being Count, so courted the Countess.
Victoria felt he'd be safer as her consort until he got his own title - and was petitioning for him to get one.
Victoria likewise spent ages trying to get title to an un-ruled territory (because the last guy was hanged by us) but the Countess didn't give it to her because she was too busy being a vapid royal - which royally peeved her off.
Solaric went into a tourney to win the Countess - but Victoria and Cairn whacked the number 1 rival.
Pitr (ex party member) had a love story where a nasty chap was set on revenge - probably going to kill Pitr's love interest - so Victoria and Kirk (the last party assassin) whacked that guy too.
Pretty much we are a party of two halves. Victoria running around being the Godfather with her Sczarni friends - but always for the bigger picture greater good, even though people end up as the base of a good soup or dead in droves; and then we have the nice guys like Solaric being all Paladiny.
What allows it to work is that the 'bad' people don't derail the paladin, indeed we keep the worst of the dirty work we do off his radar - because you we all work together and play nicely.
We have a bit of house Stark we have a bit of Lannister.
That said, Victoria has now hit level 9 and not killed a single creature. No blood on HER hands.
Nah part of the reason Victoria just had Lucretia the vampire whacked was to get us back to the Heptagon quest rather than dick about with so many storylines - its time consuming chasing one, two slowed us to a crawl... Victoria had Lucretia lined up for a killing, and even that took 18 months in real life to get around to when it was her number one priority - so yeah it's a bit Meta, but so that we can get on to the main plotline it was a firesale on NPC's who were in the way - why talk talk talk to people who want us to fail when Vicky and her hit squad can have them turned into pumpkin soup.
Now... that said, Victoria has to work out if she is better off or worse off lacking Countess Livgrace, and whether or not she should do something about the body.
She's a female Al Swearengen, a black heart of gold.
