Hey Folks, I am leaving for Thanksgiving to my inlaws on Wednesday and we will be returning on Friday. Internet will be questionable for the next few days, but I'll post if I can.

Thanks guys, the lortabs are helping. The first one not so much (and I'm usually really sensitive to them) so I took a second one 4 hrs later. I feel high and queasy, but the pain has lessened.
So how much posting is too much? My Way of the Wicked campaign just tallied up 144 IC post and another 20 OOC in a 24 hour period - 10:30 to 10:30 Chicago time.
What is this 'too much posting' thing you speak of?

I got told today that my fight on Dec 2 is now a non-event on account of the other guy pulling out, and no replacement available at short notice. Apparently I will get another crack in April.

Hey folks, posting may be a bit slowerover the next coupleof days due to a large gathering of the fam' for the holiday. But, I will need to escape them, so no complete lack of posting, hahaha.
I second that! 144 IC? That's crazy.
I think of myself as a faithful poster at three or more posts a day in each of my campaigns, but I would have trouble keeping up with that rate. I would need to quit my job and stay online continuously. It sounds fun, but not realistic.

It really just depends. Some times when good conversation/action is going and you happen to catch most of your players online at one time, the game can really surge forward, even if nothing happens :P I wouldn't mind 100+ posts daily as long as my character wasn't completely behind!

When I was an exchange student in Germany, Thanksgiving was actually the only time I recall being homesick. Me, another American exchange student and one American whose father was based at Spangdahlem air base all went to the base and had turkey and stuffing. Not the same as home, but much better than the German alternatives. I love German food, but it is not Thanksgiving.
So... the store I hate is trying to win back the hearts and minds of local gamers...

What's yer status sir? I'd like to try and get started by the weekend if at all possible. The other three are complete Cleric of Gorum, Dinosaur Druid, and a Sorceress altogether.

Also, Winter the paladin/cleric of Erastil was about 2 days away from putting her down like a sick dog, that's how bad it was.Actually... just one day.
After momentarily declaring myself the democratically elected party leader, I had her assigned to the kitchen of the Golden Goblin Inn on potato and carrot duty. Regardless of what she felt, it was for the greater good. She had no place with us, and was urged to simply make the best of her sorry lot in honest and gainful employment.
Otherwise... yes... she was destined for a meeting with Pharasma, clearly someone so mad and unstable (and armed, and casting lethal spells uncontrollably at innocent people) would have to be put to rest. Better luck in the Planes.

Um, wow.
It's not the backstory. Or really even the concept. That's a whatever. Been there, done better.
It's just that he's just a genuinely a terrible writer and equally bad player.
First he never once did his homework on the actual "profession" she was apparently in. You don't get up on a soapbox and announce yourself like a fishmonger. You shouldn't have to. You're not being paid for your ability to yell over a crowd (that's a bonus). So rather than coming off as a tragic figure that grew up way too fast she comes off as pretty much a slutty idiot.
And let's be honest here there's simply no excuse. 113 years old presumably having spent a decent portion as a prostitute? Lady, you better be a damn pro.
Second the whole "spells go off at random" or "emerging sorcerer" thing is all fine and good for an early level character. Buuuutttt when you start it off by trying to melt the face of the authority the group is trying to stay decent with and then "discharge" when the paladin punishes ya for making a ruckus?
Oh I could go on. But overall it felt like someoen's ERP fetish fantasy that became ruined when Shifty called them on their bullshit and refused to play along.

Erastil made me do it.
It was some pretty whack stuff though, and the one in HoD wasn't a lot better.
I think what got to me the absolute most was the way he kept trying to shove it down the other players throats even after they made it clear they weren't interested and wanted him to stop.
btw. how is he doing in his recent games? I saw he is still in some campaigns...he even wrote me a pm some weeks ago -_- guess you know the content...
No idea.
I hope he took the opportunity to sit down and have a good think about where he was and where he was heading.
Can't even guess at the content to be honest, anything is possible...

He opened up a big recruitment thread, then bailed on the game after making only one half-assed in game post. I shudder a bit to think what the players of that thread might have been in for had it lasted...

In the nineties I regularly used to help out the organizers of a local convention in my hometown (called Müstic - and the last Müstic we did had about 200 paying visitors). Most of the players I met there were O.K., but there were some...strange...encounters.
My favorite strange encounter probably was bouncywolf - a member of the German WoD guild. He was spending his time explaining (in a pretty annoing way) a friend of mine (who just finished a cool werewolf adventure) where he did wrong (compared to the official material). The guy (pretty short, well rounded) tried to get to sit on a low wall (less then three feet) he jumped, didn't reach, slided down and jumped again - for the whole conversation that lasted about half an hour - we desperatly tried to keep a straight face...

It does remind me of the first time I played FIASCO. I ended up being THAT GUY.
For those of you who want to know Fiasoc is a DMless game where yoou essentially roleplay out a Collin brothers movie (think Raising Arizona or The Big Lebowski).
Well we played a zoo scenario. So in the random character roll up I ended up having two jobs. The big animals portion and the reptile house.
So it was decided my guy was the poop wrangler. I went around to each cage and cleaned out the shit from the cages.
I turned that scenario upside down, inside out, and through the poor man demoing the guy with the following words setting up the scene.
"So Kevin is on the side of a lonely highway getting ready to meet up with his asian contact into the exotic animal poop black market."
Things got interesting from there.
