Congrats Mark & DMZZ - 8,000 posts in this OOC.

Does the drinking horn count as a Hand Weapon?

In Warhammer they can, haha.

8000 post is pretty crazy. Funny how this ooc has become quite the social outlet for most of the people involved in the games. Something about the globalness (is that even a word?) that is really appealing to me. I have balst getting so many different viewpoints on things that have nothing to do with gaming at all. Good stuff.

Has anyone noticed over the last couple months there has been a huge influx of people who apply for game after game never seeming to pay any attention to what the DM has requested or when recruitment closes? And top of that they always have ideas for bizarre race/class combos that just would never work in any game. I would like to play a hermaphroditic triceratops adept with three levels of weirdo. What!?! I can't be evil an top of that? Hmmm, how about a were-chicken noble?

I don't get it. Is this the advandced races guide fault?

Nope - not a 'new' thing. It's happened pretty much any time I've posted a thread. Some get the hint quickly... others don't.

Male Orc Expert 5

You always get those. I tend to ignore them. Or in games that im applying hope the gm ignores them.

I feel kindda intimidated by these large OOC threads, specially because English is my second language and I can not provide useful comments on most questions (such as the veteran's day which we simply don't have in Brazil). So forgive me if it seems like I don't care enough to read the threads (I always do). Same goes for Tark's giant OOC thread.

Hey Rune,

That is part of the joy of hanging out here. Half the people here speak English as a second language.;) Nice to know we have acquired someone from South America. Now we can chat about thigs that happen down there. So no need to worry!

Now I know Brazil doesn't have a similar public holiday. See how it works, haha.

Oooh, can I play a Were-chicken summoner with a fox for my Eidolon?

And whenever I summon it, for the first 10 minutes it chances me around. Even better, how about a Broodmaster summoner, then I could summon a whole family of foxes.

Problem with recruitment is that most DMs ask for a fully fleshed backstory and character sheet. It takes a lot of effort to accomplish that, and when a player gets rejected, he just takes that character (seeing it's all ready to go) and applies to all recruitments regardless of AP or module. Sometimes it's easily done, but most times it's hammering a square into a circle. I've actually did it before successfully (my character in Tark's S&S games was originally used in a Serpent's Skull game which died a couple weeks in).

That, and people see the weird stuff on new books and get the itch to use them.

There a couple of seriously obnoxious people out in the threads right now that I hope disappear soon, lol.

What I love are the people who get upset over the dm's requirements.... if the game doesn't suit you, move on....makes me shake my head :)

@ Bilbo… Right, 1 bonus fortune die on all hand weapon attacks.

Yeah, 8k is veeeery impressive :) And all posts are meaningful!

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Yeah, we had some strange people here too :/

So let me make it up then.

I live in João Pessoa, Brazil, the capital of its state of Paraíba on the coast of the Atlantic. Actually if you look at any map of South America you'll find me on the eastern end of the continent - my city is at the easternmost land point of south America.

I haven't actually seen snow in my lifetime, summers are a hot and humid affair with a lot of rains while winters have a little gentler weather. Temperature rarely drops below 25ºC. So yeah, I get a little jealous of your cold winters with snow and stuff. Grass on the other side, right?

Rune - I'm in Malaysia so I completely understand the hot and humid scenario. I find that we plan holidays to places that are cold rather than the other way around. I often joke that one of the things I miss after moving to Malaysia is the concept of seasons.

Does that mean my tiefling magus with a psychopatic bent towards giants isn't the weirdest guy to sit by the campfire?

"Horny man sitting by fire is one we avoid on cold night in mother russia. When vodka is flowing is best not to be in arms reach of lonely soldier of the people seeking sexy time with available hole."

Yeah, seasons are not a big deal around here. You notice it's a little hotter, a little rainier, but nothing like USA and Europe. Here if you've got the cash you go to the southeast (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Gramado, etc).

Oh, that reminds of so many characters... If you had "gothic lolita" in there somewhere you'd have described most of the characters from a specific poster on these forums. It's so true it's sad.

Sigh - I miss Heart of Pulp... it's not every PbP that your first action is to turn a camel into a suicide bomber. And Phil had just converted a couple of soccer balls into bizarre fragmentation grenades... didn't even get a chance to use 'em.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Ah, Gregori, that was an epic character...I'm still sad that this campaign died :(

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

And we had the gothic lolita here too in two campaigns!

Guys, maybe there's a future out there for us! I'll contact high command, someone HAS to stop them damn Nazis! :)

We still have the goblin, the ogre, the demon and the Ulfen. And their pet, I mean caretaker, elf in HoJ.

Well, Shuriken Neokogami? (is that the correct name?) was a bit weird in a lot of regards...this one character (Nox?) was always getting !wet! when the party got mad about her^^

Rune, your English seems to be rather good. Probably better than many native speakers I know. *sigh*.

I often feel like I can't really contribute to the ooc as well, especially in regards to game rules etc. Other times I just don't have the shared interest or knowledge base to join in conversations. Plus, it's sometimes kind of awkward for me being the only female around. I'm use to having a lot of guy friends, but not quite like this.

wut?

edit: There I go and make a complete fool of myself. That comment was a response to the Shuriken post above ^^

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

Oh come on, it's not like we have only macho-male talk here :)

Really? I always thought Ailetha was a woman too. That's the beauty of the forums, I guess ;)

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

LOL Philip turned into an inquisitor? At least Gregori has remained his former self^^

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

I know, ZZ, like I said a lot of the talk for various reasons. But I balance it well by bringing in my own bits of insanity and chaos :D

Rune, no, Ailetha is played by Tirion, and as far as I've been able to tell I'm the only real life female in this ooc thread.

Eh, as much fun as it was I really cant afford to take on anymore games.

My character in Heart of Riddles, Bree Longfield, was designed specifically to kill one of his characters but he quit shortly after I joined the campaign.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

You designed Bree to kill his character????

Was that your own idea?

@Tark: Ah well, maybe in the future :)

Aye, I had been following the tread because Sable and Sweeney are friends of mine in real life. His character was just really getting under my skin, and Sable and I were having a b!tch fest about it. Sable suggested I make a character and submit it to the recruitment thread, even though recruitment was closed.

So, I started working on Bree expressly with the idea that she would either stab his poor wh0re-child in the back or shoot her with the crossbow from the shadows. Bree's CN and a bit mentally unstable so it would have been rather easy to give a reason to the group if they learned of it and demanded one (though I doubt they would have, though perhaps Bree and Winter wouldn't be as close as they are).

Anyway, Tom happened to open the recruitment thread up for one or two more people while I was half done with Bree, so I hurried her up and submitted it to Tom explaining that I had created her specifically for his campaign in the off chance that he should want another character. He was flattered by the effort I put in, especially for it being an off chance and took me in.

That same day or the next, Shuriken stopped posting, and then came in and said he had too much on his plate and had to withdraw from the game. A week later I saw him applying with another perverted character in another thread. A week before I made Bree, I had chewed Shuriken out in his "Creepy confessions" thread as Twilightrose. I honestly think that when he realized Bree Longfield was Twiightrose' alias, he bolted.

And now I must read. I make creepy chracters (I've made two creepy lolitas) but only because something like a sweet little girl ripping people apart with her own hair is genuinely unnerving and scary.

That I would have found appealing. The issue I had with him was that he specifically takes underage or nubile girls, gives them a tortured past (rape, molestation etc.) and then turns them into pathetic shells/sex fiends etc. This character kept crying and offering to sleep with every male around, if they forgave her for being annoying basically. Then his "Creepy confessions" thread revealed how close he really is, in my opinion to molesting a child in real life.

Also, Winter the paladin/cleric of Erastil was about 2 days away from putting her down like a sick dog, that's how bad it was.

Nice when people bring their real life issues and problems into an arena most use to escape those problems for a few minutes each day

Oh, and to the best of my knowledge I have never posted what my RL sex is.

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

I'm sorry, I thought you had.

Well, even if you do have rl issues, at least you aren't cramming them down everyone else' throat.

I think this Belle Mythix person might be the replacement or even Shuriken. Who knows? But, a lot of that guy's offerings have a similar bent to them. Shuriken is the first person that came to mind. What a fruit. That "Creepy Confessions" thread was out of control, lol. Tri Omega Zero kept trying to play devil's advocate on that one. Bizarre.

Yeh - that is why I gave up Facebook and similar stuff as worthless. If I wanted to see murder and people with problems, I would sit on the street corner and watch it happen. I certainly do not need to read about someone's sick dog or the obnoxious child next door or the hot guy down the street or the fact that your car just broke down.

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

For those of you who haven't seen his thread, but want too: Creepy Confessions

Yeah, I know his character type has cropped up before with other people, the biggest difference is, this is pretty much ALL he plays.

Belle Mythix is the same way. Every character is ate up beyond use.
