Maybe the cat likes the feel of the linoleum under its feet, but is concerned with the splatter if it pukes on the hard floor. It is a choice between having to clean itself if there is splatter versus you cleaning the rug - obviously you getting to clean won.

Yeah, that's pretty much the correct explanation for cats' choice of vomiting areas.

I had a cat that used to puke 3 times every 4 days. And here's the worst cat hurl story yet . . .

my first born was a slow crawler; he was about 9 months old before he started getting interested in moving (which is funny because he was then walking at 11 months, but I digress). anyway, he'd crawled for the first time that day! Wheee . . . we'd been out, and when we got home, I walked into the living room carrying the boy, and saw that Bruce (that's the cat) had hurled again while we were out. I put my boy down, darted right into the kitchen for paper towels, and darted right back, specifically thinking "He just crawled today, no way there's any danger here."

Wrong-oh!!

In the 5.4 seconds my trip to the kitchen and back took me, he'd booked over to the cat puke and took a nice big bite and was chewing away happily with a big grin on his yucky face, hands full of used cat food.

eeewwww. That ranked up there with the top 7 grossest things I've dealth with. (don't ask about the other 6)

That's... utterly disgusting. I had my 3 1/2 year old roll around in kitten diarrhea the other day. She was also late to roll over and late to crawl, but walking by 10 months! Crazy isn't it? She crawled for maybe two weeks before walking.

@Tirion, wow, I guess that is a fantastic explanation... maybe next time he pukes on the carpet I should roll him around in it before letting him go to clean himself off? Lmfao.

Z would it be ok if I made up some relatives in boston for Auntie and self? Makes more sense for her to be willing to move if she has somewhere to go. Also makes sense of why Reggie is not distressed at being flat broke in rural New England. He knows he can call for help if he needs to. I am positing a high social class but poor family. My mother, Ms. Hobbs' sisters child, married money, say Boston shipping or New York finance. Ms.Hobbs and the rest of the family look down on the marriage but Reggie has become something of an ambassador bringing the 'class' and 'trade' elements of the family together.

Hey folks, I'll be out of the loop for the next day or so. I start a 24 hour shift at the barracks with no internet access in a minute. Nothing like being on Charge of Quarters, bleh. Anyhow, if any anything comes up that my fellas need to be DM-PC'ed have at it. Harl will put himself and the weakest members using saving shield protecting who he can. Perdition will buff Harry and Kanyk then start in with debuffing and fire attacks. See ya'll sometime tomorrow, later.

Nice stories so early in the morning!

@ Reggie: Sure, sounds good!

DMHW:

I'm not very satisfied with Florence's role. And that is due to the time zone problem we have. The game normally begins to roll when I'm in bed and I usually wake up to 12+ posts (21 today), or three rounds of battle. So most usually I just say yes to decisions already made and make mistakes since I can't remember everything in so many posts I had to read. However, I think it's great that the story rolls so well and it's also testament for the great job you're doing. But I feel a bit alien within the party and am totally unable to fill the role I intended for Florence :/ Which has caused me to not have that much fun playing her. As a result I thought about bowing out, which is a shame, since I really like your style of DMing.

Dungeon Master

Zyren:
When I started to read your spoiler my heart sank. I'm sorry Florence is not working out for you. Characters sometimes don't quite fit in some groups. Sometimes I feel a little frustrated with Celestra and how she is playing out. The time zone piece is a bit of a problem that is certainly unsolvable, but do you think playing a different character might help? I am willing to be flexible and do whatever would make this game enjoyable for you. Either way, I am grateful for all that you have contributed to our adventure. I completely understand if you must bow out, but please let me know if their is something else I can do to solve your problems.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

DMHW:

No, I think it's not really a problem of Florence, since I'm rather enjoying characters that can contribute a lot to the group. Kirk for example is totally satisfied with piping in from time to time, while I prefer to play very active characters which is not possible due to the time zone issue combined with the fact that the whole group is from the US. In our other groups we have people all around the globe, so time zone is not an issue because everyone is "restricted" to some posts per day.
I also feel kind of sad, since I really enjoyed the campaign. On the other hand it's not that bad, since we still play together in so many games :)

Dungeon Master

Zyren:
Sadly, I must accept your resignation. :/ Would you be able to kindly finish off the Rogue's lair? Will you prefer Florence departing into the hills once you finish the lair, or would you prefer a dramatic ending?

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

DMHW:

Yeah surely I will stay to finish the bandits off :)
No, I think Florence will decide to return to Galt-there are surely some usurpers to to fight!

However, I also have to say that I'm sad :/

Grrr. She brought out my ugly side guys. I doubt you'll be able to access the link, but if you can don't think less of me for laying into her.

That's why I try so hard to keep my friends list down to people I actually know and wish to communicate with but it never fails that someone makes their way on my list who only knows me through someone else and then crap like this happens. I think it's time for me to clean out my list again.

None of that sentence made sense to me. I recognize most of the words, but in that arrangement, they have left me stumped. ;-)

What is a KM ninja turtle?
Why is China beating them?
Why is there a Day for it?
Why is there a week celebration for the Day?

They are, and they look a zillion times better than D&D minis.

Did you order them straight from Paizo?

yeah, surprisingly the shipping was moderate 60$. Sadly I will also have to pay custom tax and some other taxes, guess it's still about the same price as they will cost in germany and there was no other way to get the friggin dragon^^

the prepainted plastics are nice. My tabletop DM has several big 'uns, including a black dragon. That was one of teh best combats we've ever had--dragons are SO BADASS. My fighter had been holding a special potion of Heal for many, many sessions; he ended up using it because he got hit with a breath weapon--an ILLUSORY breath weapon that is.

the best potion ever, wasted.

that dragon was smart!!

VC - Sydney, Australia

That was me this morning.

Game session I was running wound up after midnight, got home 1am, and was at boxing at 6am. Now I'm feeling it pretty hard.... and am writing an 'intro to project management' paper/training resource for a friends training company.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

what game session were you running?

VC - Sydney, Australia

Reads more like crime/political thriller with heavy doses of horror, with a number of different factions at play - lots of infighting amongst Duchies, and a mad King. All cast amidst an Orcish invasion, Demons coming out of the woodwork, a Vampire sworn on revenge of her noble families shame, and a Duchy seemingly under siege from a betrayed champion coming back to claim his due.

I actually split the party for a few sessions - one was the good guys doing just and noble pursuits, meanwhile the 'shady characters' could have a bit of a stretch out of the watchful eye of their party Paladin.

Anyhow, it's complicated :p

Players love it though.

You can never be 100% sure whos interests you advance any time you do anything.

Divine Gamemaster of the Abyss and below...

absolutely. What system are you using?

VC - Sydney, Australia
Zyren Zemerys wrote:

Pathfinder.

Although it has been said by the players that my 'style and feel' is very 1st/2nd Ed.

No surprise there though I suppose... I liked the dark feel of early D&D, I loved the old Fantasy works like Thieves World, Lankhmar, Elric etc, and am a fond devourer of True Crime - and Lovecraftian horror. Overlay that with a good understanding of Military History and a taste for politics, makes for a hefty campaign!

Before I started the campaign I wrote the group up about four or five different 'Campaign propositions', they chose the complex one.

One day I should write them all up fully.

I reckon there's a market for dark horror fantasy!

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)
