That's a shame. I mean, I've played my share of twisted characters in other games, but nothing quite like the things I've seen from Shuriken.

I remember that thread...I thought I remembered posting there, but that must have been a similar thread (he did more threads looking for acknowledgement? token help? whatever?) but I am too tired to look for that right now - and I actually agree with Ross Byers - no need to diskuss this guy any further (and regardless of his problems debating him in another thread seems weird).

Those who thought he needed professional help communicated that to him, sadly (?) that is all a messageboard community can do. Let us just hope he either gets hold of his personal issues one way or the other or at least manages to keep them from becoming anybody elses issues - but let us not discuss him any further - in the enviroment of even the nicest community in the web those discussions tend to turn ugly, either through miscommunications or misinformation and that would make this campfire a sad place.

Anyway, I ramble my way to clouds of tired dizziness here, so I wish you all a good night.

No, feytharn, I agree and was thinking of much the same thing. I hadn't intended for it to turn into a full out Shuriken discussion thread. Night, sleep well.

Has anyone noticed over the last couple months there has been a huge influx of people who apply for game after game never seeming to pay any attention to what the DM has requested or when recruitment closes?

It's been going on pretty much the whole time, at first I thought it was a few fringe nutters...now I have been in or following a number of PbP's I've found its pretty much common as dirt.

Its always the CN Were-chicken Nekkymankers who are let into a campaign that seriously end up stuffing it up for other people too - something about their self-absorbed loners not really being team players.

I have to say there's been a few exits from Tarks games I have applauded, that said, they seemed like semi-reasonable applicaitons, but looking back, the less obvious warning signs were all there :p

Now I look very carefully at the background of the player themselves...

Actually... just one day.

After momentarily declaring myself the democratically elected party leader, I had her assigned to the kitchen of the Golden Goblin Inn on potato and carrot duty. Regardless of what she felt, it was for the greater good. She had no place with us, and was urged to simply make the best of her sorry lot in honest and gainful employment.

Otherwise... yes... she was destined for a meeting with Pharasma, clearly someone so mad and unstable (and armed, and casting lethal spells uncontrollably at innocent people) would have to be put to rest. Better luck in the Planes.

Wait wait wait, let me get this straight here. I'm supposedly a guy?! :P

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

Well, you're hair is rather long... but so is your beard. You're rather flat chested if you are a chick, but I can't claim to have ever seen what's between your legs :P

I assumed Tirion was male because of his "wife and kids" comments but that was rather closed minded of me... so I suppose if you don't want to be a guy, you don't have too :D You know I'd love you either way!

Male Orc Expert 5

Tiron is a guy only on the weekdays.

"Wife and kids" comment?

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

I'm certain I saw you mention a wife at least once, and I believe children as well. No?

Lol, you're right, the sexless one does mention their wife there :P However, I'm not sure if that's where I saw it. I don't recall reading in that thread, though I might have if someone else mentioned it or linked to it at some point. *shrugs* It's really not important though. Whether Tirion wants to identify as male, female, something in between or nothing at all is really not my business and if Tirion further doesn't wish to disclose that information here, that's fine too.

All I really know is that when I asked for verification that I was the only female in our group, Tirion did not disagree and those who did speak up were in agreement. I feel I was (and still am) justified in my belief that I'm the only female to haunt the campfire. I would be pleased to learn that I was wrong, however :)

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Lol - unless Bree suddenly had a ton of time, pretty sure she did not read it on that thread.

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

*Sigh* Alas, I am one of those that both has more time than I need to do everything and somehow still not enough to do anything in. I do tend to just randomly read threads though, especially when I see a familiar name as the creator or last to post. It was just a couple of months ago though, I know that. If it wasn't in this thread then it was probably in a recruitment thread or an off-topic tread. I'm sure I could find it again if I tried hard enough, but I kind of feel like that would be rude...

Hey guys...and gal. Got some RL stuff going on so probably wont be able to post the next couple of days.

I'm a serial thread surfer as well - hit refresh and see what looks interesting :P BTW - I tracked down that post just by searching all of Tirion's posts for 'wife', and that's what it came up with.

Shifty - Looks like I'll be down in Sydney from the 21st of Dec through to the 10th of January visiting my wife's side of the family. Have you got any recommendations of decent gaming stores to check out? - I'll be shacking up in Newtown mostly, but have public transport / rented car so can travel.

Twilightrose - I might not be female, but I have played one on stage ;)

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

@Stiehl9s - Hope everything is OK, hurry back :)

@Mark - Yeah, I figured as much and I'm sure I could use the same method to find the specific post(s) I was thinking of, but it's just not that big of a deal.

Also, I know you did (make Cat) and that makes you F'ing awesome. Since our last DM hit the road, Bree has been the only female PC and it's kinda sucked.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Ask Shifty about the female player we had in Tark's CoT campaign. She was completely insane, and not in a good way.

What was she doing?

Rly.
Not only was it odd, but then it was coupled with revisionist history and things that never happened.

Lesson for Bloodless; You need to be cruel to be kind, and some days you are better just killing half the party and letting God (or the GM) sort em out.

GoodGames are the venue of choice for the Sydney based Pathfinder Society. Each weekend (Saturdays) they run in different stores (and some weekends multiple) so thats worth checking out if you want a PFS game session. You can find them as the Shadowlodge on Facebook.

The Sydney store and the Burwood store are probably the most gepgraphically sensible for you, the Burwood store is a bit 'meh'.

Theres not a big FLGS vibe going on in Sydney unfortunately, and most of the gaming stores are out in the sticks.

Macquariecon is on over the 8th Dec, but thats too early.

My Regiment is over next to Newtown, but we will be on stand down until I go off in Jan, but hey we can still tee something up I am sure :)

Don't go to Games Paradise, nice stock of gaming stuff, but what horrible and nasty people, I almost lost my manners in there with the chick that runs/manages/alienates at the counter. Snooty cow, there's a woman in desperate need of an orgasm and a changed worldview.

Well, like many such people, she seemed mostly normal at the start. A little bit damaged, but maybe just in need of some TLC and a hug, maybe if someone threw in a little human kindness perhaps. Who's have thought she was actually a complete harpy with a persecution complex and a vendetta against the universe and everything in it, and a perpetual balance between explosion and implosion.

Fluid Inter-dimensional physically detached consciousness Roguish Healer/4

O.o Sounds... erm... yeah.

LOL this is the chick in Tarks game I refer to, not the lady from GoodGames, who would not be given any sort of tappage from yours truly. :p

Games Paradise must still be in the same hands it was 10 years or so ago when I was in Sydney for University! I don't know why people decide to endure in a business where they so clearly look down upon those that buy their products. GoodGames in Sydney it'll likely be then.

Not sure if I could manage a PFS session, will be kicking about with wife and two kids and catching up with a multitude of friends from University days plus wife's side of the fams - so weekends will be packed out. Would be great to catch up for at least a beverage of some kind at some point if you're around over the period.

TwilightRose - I meant IRL, when I was about 17 or so ;) Played the Queen in a high school drama production and managed to keep the secret from my parents right up until they saw me walk out on stage in drag.

I played Minerva Crumb in Be My Ghost, a female taxidermist during high school play. I strutted out in a burgundy wig and an amply stuffed chest. To the chagrin of the actual female actors I walked in those bright blue heels better than they could. My grandmother, as the cast was walking in, turned to my mom asking which character I was. My mom replied "The six foot broad that just elbowed past you." :P

In ancient times the Games Paradise was a fair and decent place, founded by a few avid gamers who wanted a store that was by gamers for gamers, and was the lovechild/labour of love of a chap called Dennis. He was a pretty odd chap, but likeable enough, and I used to bump into him a at what is now UTS (was the SIT + Ultimo TAFE) - sadly Dennis went to work one day, sent out a mass email on a timer saying 'goodbye', and then hung himself.

Now there's a pack of clowns. What got my hackles up was that the nasty crone at the shop is rude to children - horrible witch - probably wants to eat them. I went there with a couple of kids and whoa they got treated badly.

That's what brothers are for. I haven't been in a play since I was in Elementary School. Never been one to enjoy the spotlight.

Just saying I am reading some neat s~%! from the mythic playtest.

That being said I'd like to try and playtest it with a quick homebrew mod for some players from here.

Longstory short: Asmodues has been killed. Due to complicated cosmic contracts with several powerful gods you have become the recipients of his dark and otherworldly power. However you must be tested to deem if you are worthy of that power. If you are deemed worthy the choice of what you do with that power is yours.

Going to have lots of cosmic oddness of the Planescape variety. Shenanigans will occur.
