Huge monstrous humanoids

Rules Questions

I was looking at the new UM spell line called monstrous physique, and then i browsed through the bestiaries but i couldn't find any huge monstrous humanoid.
Did i miss it or simply there isn't one printed (yet)?

There isnt one printed yet but this way if anyone ever is the spell works with it or with any a Dm makes in their home game

I believe it was Sean K Reynolds who stated that the spell was designed to be forward compatible. There aren't any huge monstrous humanoids, but there probably will be in some future bestiary or other supplement.

I noticed this too. I would just advance something that is Large for now if I really wanted to use this spell.

Huh, nothing in the wording SAYS that the Monstrous Humanoid you're turning into has to be the same size as the size you're turning too. So I suppose your DM could make a judgement call and allow you to turn into a Huge Minotaur

or a Diminutive Minotaur, which is hilarious on a number of levels, but probably not very effective.

Speaking of which, they REALLY need to allow basic templates in polymorph spells now. At least Advanced and Young. Otherwise it's crap due to their not wanting to duplicate monsters to make extra small or extra big versions but since you can't use templates, you can't polymorph into usable extra small or extra big versions.

Silver Crusade

Are there any in print now?

Yes, Bestiary 3 Thriae Queen. That is all. :)

The Exchange

Plus:

  • Svathurim from the monster codex
  • Lamia-Kin, Hungerer from Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition

The pickings are still pretty thin.

Nothing from bestiary 4?

Nope.

There is an FAQ that explains this can't happen. The FAQ on Eagle Shaman allows the Eagle Shaman to shape change into bird with templates applied, but notes this normally isn't allowed.

So you can't take the form of a Huge Minotaur because Minotaur's are not Huge.
