Are you and Missus Aberzombie thinking of relocating to the DC area from Filthidelphia, or somewhere else?

I would rather gouge my own eyes out with a rusty spoon, then slit my nutsack open and replace my testicles with said gouged-out eyeballs, then cauterize any open wounds with molten lava, then skin myself and immerse myself in a tub of salt, then hang myself from the nearest lamp post so the birds could peck at what's left of me....

...before I would ever even consider for one second living in the cesspool that is D.C.

How do I favorite this twice?

I believe that DC is a city best appreciated in small, touristy doses.

D.C. is a cesspool only inside of the beltway. :P

I believe it might be cleansed with fire. lots and lots of fire.

Fire is nice like that I hear ... I recommend Fire Vampires.

Will you grow a long beard, live in a cave, and dispense wisdom and/or perilous knowledge to those who reach you across the treacherous mountain paths?

Although I hear that's a good gig if you can get it, I can't manage to grow out a beard enough to even start without it itching so much I shave it all off.

Also, while I may one day finally throw my hands up in frustration and abandon the forums, I still do all my gaming online via Skype, and caves are notoriously difficult to install internet in.

Treacherous mountain paths I do have though, yay southeast Tennessee. The only place I've ever been with more sheer dropoffs was Colorado.

I just wanna point out that here in Missouri we have caves with Wifi and Electricity.

Yeah, but you're too far north for my comfort.

I recall reading an article about a luxury house built underground and in caves somewhere in the south western US. Can't remember where. It was pretty cool.

You seen the luxurious converted missile silo-mansions? Especially the doomsday survival ones. Those are pretty sweet.

In Louisiana we had secret underground swamp grottos loaded with high tech luxuries and powered by voodoo. They were awesome.

The Mosquitos were hell, though. They use to carry off the aligators for later feeding.

Riding to Colorado Springs and Pike's Peak for a vacation in my junior high years was terrifying for a heights-phobic person like me. =)

Scarab Sages

I believe 1 AM is NOT the best time for Verizon to send people a "you're near to using up only half of your allotted data for the month!" alert. Grrrr.

Most nightmare inducing phrase for me was "So who wants to go to the top of the Arch?"

No thanks, just gonna go look at the pioneer exhibit again and mentally assign them all Oregon Trail deaths.

I believe exposing elementary children to their primal fears is proof some teachers are at least chaotic neutral.

Having been reared by teachers, I believe you are entirely correct in your CN designation. I further believe some stray towards Evil depending on time served and dreams destroyed

I believe it's funny because I'm a teacher and bounce between LE and CN.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. I've hiked it twice and driven up several times. I find the views beautiful. The weather can get interesting at that altitude though. (~14,100 ft)

Sovereign Court

I believe I am not going to enjoy next Sunday ... since I put off doing my taxes until now ... I also believe I will be needing a drink once I see the end result.

I loved it once we got there, and any time we were walking around. I just hated the trip. I could hike in the area without the phobia kicking in, so long as I stayed away from the sheer ledges. Pike's was cool, though we took the trolley up.

Cool. This really is a beautiful state. I hate to see the way it's changing.
