I thought this was the key Godzilla film.

Holy crap Sclivian a +13 to sense motive. I had to look twice before I believed that. Remind me to never lie to you. Dang I am very impressed.

The man's a lawyer by trade. In Westcrown. In the heart of the Chelaxian Empire. And a mere mortal to boot. You'd be amazed at how high some of the sense motive scores are in the NPC statblocks.

I figure that part of the reason his business was sacked was that he listened to his intuition and found another task to take care of, elsewhere, before the jackboots arrived. The miracle wasn't that his business was sacked, it's that Sclivian, personally, wasn't.

Sclivian might be quite poor in the "bashing people" department, but he can taste the mood in the wind.

Or, as I said earlier, "That is why I do not operate on feeling, Mr. Mainz."

Lest I get pegged for Asmodia being emo, I think she just has a case of having the Rolling Stone's "Ruby Tuesday" playing over and over in her head.

Just checking in for today. Lots of holiday shopping earlier, more to do tomorrow. I have my iphone handy though so I'll post when I can. :)

Have fun on the vacation Caldazar!

So I guess we can expect Bloodless to grow his hair out, get a nasty drug addiction and "shoot himself" in the face with a ballista?

hey now. you're just being mean. asmodia wouldn't hurt francis bean like that. she would actually stop doing heroine for bloodless's child. :P

Thesing's Love Child. Yeah... I watched Cronenburg's The Fly before I knew what sex was. And people wonder why this generation isn't breeding at the same rate of those previous.

Is the house name Carathage or Carthage? Or are some members called Carthage and others Carathage, for contractual purposes?

Male Orc Expert 5

I thought I said Carthage but apparently Meraxilar read it as Carathage. You know what? Pick one. I doesn't matter. They know who they are.

I saw Carathage initially when Dog first mentioned it. I like Carathage anyway. :)

I'm a contract lawyer. IT MATTERS.

"That's not me, that's not my name, you mean that guy," is a fun and common defense in the world of infernal contracts.

But hey, awesome, it's Carathage now.

In any case i'm giving you guys until the 7th of january to get your plan straightened out. I understand the holidays are hectic and I myself have a project that needs finishing before sunday. Plus my rpgsuperstar work I want to have in. So you have lots of time while I pound my face on the keyboard until somethign relevant comes out.

Female Human Housewife/1

Rebels, did we ever sell the +1 mace? If so, we should probably look into getting a fully charged wand of cure light wounds.

We should have a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with some charges on it. Though as the primary meat shield, Bejis wouldn't mind being able to top up between fights.

Bejis hasn't touched his 378gp 3sp share from the last set of exploits. It could go to a masterwork weapon, but Bejis hits well. Extra reserve healing is good. Utility is good. Lesser Restoration is probably a tad expensive, but could be a game saver.

Any other ideas?

Female Human Housewife/1

well, asmodia could use the mace, but handing a +1 to a character who has AC 12 getting into melee to use it is just silly, so I suggest we sell it.

wand of lesser resto is silly, but a few scrolls or potions might be good.

should have thought about my feat choice at 3 and gone with craft wand, but... asmodia at this moment isn't the sit around crafty type cleric.

No word from Sclivian does everyone want to wait for him or do we continue to plan the ambush. I am fine either way since the holidays are here and it may take a while to get a post in. Also we apparently don't have to decide anything till the 7th. Up to you guys.

Well I currently have three games in the planning phases. Rebels are deciding on a shopping list. Nobles are deciding the best way to chop an orphan hunter into pieces adn feed him to his dogs and my assassins are trying to figure out who exactly they need to kill.

From my experience at the table I understand that the plannign often takes three to four times as lon as the actual event which in pbp terms means "an assload of time". Normally I'd push through it so we can move on with things letting you wing it ooc jsut what you were planning.

However with the holidays, my own freelance work, and rpgsuperstar (you'll note the date is one day after my entry is due) I figure it's a good time to let you plan and interact. Recent events in Rebels and Nobles in particular call for some form of roleplay as relationships become reorganized and frayed by the revealing of secrets and the taking of regrettable actions.

Female Human Housewife/1

Asmodia will go shopping for a new provider of the sex0rs. Because her player is currently several shots into christmas and feeling good.

Heheh.

praise cayden.

Edit

actually, no. she will go shopping for the wand of cure light and a few potions/scrolls of lesser restoration. from memory, we still have 1 potion of cure light and one potion of cure mod left over from the fight with the Bastards of Eberus that were given to us by Arael. Before Calla told Asmodia how to do her job as a healer. *narrows eyes*

Bejis, want a potion of enlarge person? or... would the costume support bejis becoming Large. Aerieth, can you prepare enlarge person?

I really should have taken craft wand for my feat instead of augment summoning, if I had half a brain. Husband warned me not to, because summoning sucks until summon monster 4. Imagine the unbridaled power of a cleric with a wand of bull's strength supporting a barbarian. We'd be un-freaking-stoppable! For 50 charges, anyway.

I can go either way though this weekend my post count will shrink due to family gatherings and making the xmas rounds. :)

Happy Holidays to both groups. :)

P.S. Im ready with whatever plan is chosen.

Female Human Housewife/1

Hijack the thread to observe that in modern times, when travelers are absorbed in iPads, iPhones and iPods, a movie like "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is hard to understand.

Which is probably why Home Alone was replaced by Spy Kids.

But no movie will ever supplant the reigning Christmas title holder of the immortal and undated Die Hard. :P

Agree.

My girlfriend and I were discussing this while opening gifts at midnight. We usually watch a few of the Die Hards during christmas. We forgot to watch one last night. :(
Today, we'll catch up on the tradition. :)

Christmas Vacation would like to have a word with you.

Female Human Housewife/1

all i remember from christmas vacation is chevy chase losing it and screaming about the "hap-hap-happiest f*cking christmas since <somebody> danced with danny f*cking kaye"

Whereas I remember just about everything from Die Hard between viewings, like the only Asian terrorist being a miserly candy thief.

Merry Christmas to me, my Brother in Law gifted my husband with Knights of the Old Republic. When it was Skyrim I didn't speak with him for almost a week.

To forget the squirrel is to beg for its wrath.

In any case I now have a copy of the Bestiary 3. >=D

Anyway hope everyone had an excellent holiday and look forward to more frequent posting as we get further away from christmas. I think nobles is still waiting on invito veritas to get back from holiday. Rebels should compile a shopping list of some sort so they can get that dealt with quickly.

Female Human Housewife/1

I believe we're up to wand of Cure Light, and our wizard is going to craft some scrolls to buff the barbarian, and we're the only who have suggested such.

I think the girls of the actual Rebels group could stand to spend some time together without the Skinemax music playing in the background to reduce incidences of wanting to bash in skulls that Calla radiated.

Thinking of taking craft wand at 5, if Aerieth is thinking of taking arms and armor. A pair of crafty ladies with loads of downtime could earn the group some serious dough.

Male Human Barbarian 5

Merry Christmas all!

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)

DOH - now I feel like a fool. If you all have the cash, I have craft wondrous items. While I do not have the spells yet, so the DC would be higher, I can craft Belt's of Strength, Headbands of Wisdom and Intellect, and similar items. The problem with making money is that since it costs 50% to craft and most items sell for 50%, you end up net equal. However, you can get double the magic items for the same money.

Hu5tru wrote:

Die Hard is our family Christmas movie, and has been pretty much since it became available on VHS (we're up to Blu-ray now).

There are a few anachronisms (no cellphones except in the limo, everyone smokes, McClain is carrying a gun on an airplane) but it still holds up really well.

What struck me about the 'Asian candy thief' wasn't that he took the candy bar, but that, while participating without qualms in a 600+ million-dollar heist in which every hostage is supposed to die, he carefully swipes the candy bar only after looking around to make sure he won't get caught.

Happy New Year, people!

Rat, probably

New Year shmew year. Too many cats, not enough cheese, as always.

Happy new year!

What the lad with the hair is going on about:
Right. Apparently my food supply is being more obtuse than usual. Big effing suprise. So here is the skinny for those of you who forgot to take madman as a starting language.
The plan a'la Pollux
or
How to get everyone killed with a minimum of fuss.
.
Step the first: Follow the hunt until the hunter and his higher-ranking guest are seperated.
.
Step the second: Use the potions to appear in the hunters liverly.
.
Step the third: Hack the highranking guest into flavorful bite-sized morsels. Make sure we are seen by someone who survives. Note this may be dificult.
.
Step the forth: run and hide.
The high-ranking guests house places blame on the hunters house and either exacts a severy death price or more likely tears that house apart making sure to extract 'free confessions' from folks before, or soon after killing them. With luck this war will weaken the higher house to the extent that their enemies will act throwing the upper classes intoa death spiral of endless vendetta.
.
Step the fifth: Feed the rat.
Any clearer?

Male Orc Expert 5

Fair warning about Step the Third: The hacking to bits part? Yeah, that probably won't happen to this guy. Count that as a TPK warning. Everything else sounds good.

Rat, probably

Well then we can amend that part to insultingly folding his cocktail napkin or something.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Ok so step 3 is just attack and then run without killing him still looking like the original noble's entourage. Sounds like a plan and hopefully we all don't end up killed or worse.

Is there anyway to trap him in a dead fall and make it look like it was a set up form the orignial noble's group. That way we don't risk ourselves too much yet still accomplish our goal?

Dark Archive

I think I like boss's plan better.

1. Track down hunter and guest.

2. Stab the guest. Death is not necessary.

3. Let the hunter hold the knife.

4. Everyone conveniently forgets who did the stabbing. But now the hunter's got the stab knife.

5. Feed the rat... to the imp.

Male Orc Expert 5

To give you guys an idea on who the "guest" is and why attempting to stab him might be a bad idea. This is his very own mini.

So this plan might require an emphasis on run.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

ok then change of plans after seeing the mini. Give the kid a potion of invisibility and prestidigitation to remove his scent ahead of time and tell him to get out of there quick. He will repay us when he collect the money from the noble. 30 minutes of invisibility should be enough to get away.

Not the most IC thought process but still trying to find away to not get ourselves killed.

Female Human Housewife/1

Only problem is that invisibility only lasts 1 minute per level, and a pot for 3 minutes is going to be extremely expensive.

Why nobles group get showered in money? A lot of rap stars in their alternate reality AP willing to shower them in bills and chains?

*sniffles*

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

oops I thought it was a 10 min per level spell never mind the 30 minutes then. 3 minutes still gives some time though.

Book 2:

I've been trying very hard to keep things serious, with choosing a name for the group leading to me thinking of Life of Bryan, but having Bejis act out the part of a woman, I can't help but envision the play as if it's a Monty Python act...

Male Orc Expert 5

Rebels:
Now, now, there is a fine tradition of men playing the part of women in theatre.

Female Human Housewife/1

Rebels:

At least we're not the People's Front of Judea.

Asmodia is playing the part of a man, and not only a man but a paladin. She doesn't have the charisma or the philosophical bent for that at all.

Not to mention that she has to pretend to support a guy who is suckling Asmodeus's liturgical c*ck, which, for someone who follows the god of Freedom and frat parties is pretty much the absolute worst thing she could ever do in her life. Except do that very same thing herself.

I don't know how much the group knows of her extra curricular activities concerning Bloodless and lately Thesing, but that's not something a paladin of the last of the first men would do.

Just sayin', all Bejis has to do is kiss a dude.

Ramarren, I think it's your turn.

m Human Ftr 9 HP:110/110 AC*:33,23,30 Saves:10/8*/9* CMB: +19 CMD: 38 Init: +3 Perc: +14 Link to the spreadsheet

Sclivian I hope your summoning will help slow people down when we need to run. The best escape for us will be determined by the lay of the land and our familiarity with it. Hopefully I have been looking at it enough to have some idea as to which direction to ge and if we need to shake someone and escape into the city proper to mix with the crowd.

That's part of the plan, spamming summons to give us cover. I've also got a Hold Portal if we find a way back to the Bastards' tunnels or somesuch exit.

So I'm not confused, The plan is to disguise ourselves as Draven's host, attack high powered noble's host, then run? Or are we using the armor to get close to deal with Draven and then run in the confusion before more powerful bad guy can react?

Between the time wasted debating and the constant change of plans, it's wearing me down.

Female Elf Rogue 2/Wizard(Air Elementalist) 3 (HP 33/33; AC 14(18 w/Mage Armor), FF 14, T 18)
