Depends on the GM. I played with one once who ruled that you always summon the same creature of that type. If you continually summoned him and he gets killed everytime brutally, you had to make a check to see if he would show up the next time. Interesting house rule that kept summoners (not the class) thinking about the morality of their actions. Was quite fun actually.

So the monkey is cogitating on just how flammable this clapboard deathtrap is. Did any of you rebels consider the option of a tragic accident?
I think they discussed outright murder of a fellow cast member. But I think every group fancies the idea of "accidentally" shooting thesing or "accidentally" running into him with sword arm outstretched.
Apparently many accidents happen to thesing.
Asmodia Crispin |
Excepting the idea that we need his body parts for retinal or fingerprint scanning, or perhaps DNA type coding, I have to think we'll be okay if we remove him from the face of the earth.
Course, that's just me and the demolition man references again. Here's seeing Bejis dressed up as Krona tied to a wall saying "Teddy Bear."
*giggles*
Then again, we could be morbid little murder hobos and save all his parts in that eventuality. maybe he hides the MacGuffin in his small intestines...

As a note, I will be away from home for the next week. Should be able to post in the morning and evening, but there are no guarantees. If I miss a day and am holding something up, please have someone post for me. I doubt I will miss a day, but one never knows being in the road.

I was toying with the idea of subtley casting Heat Metal on Thesing from backstage for awhile, until I saw that the spell now belongs to Druids only in PFRPG. :(
Petronicus Crispin |
Poor petronicus can't catch a break. All things considered comparing the the cleric of Rovagug (all consuming beast of the apocalypse) versus the cleric of Asmodeus (all consuming beast of the apocalypse's jailer) was overall an incredibly unwise move.
yeah... I just can't seem to get in step. It seems everything I write is in the worst possible way.
Caldazar |
As a helpful primer - here's a suggestion of good ice-breakers:
Caldazar - suggest how he seems to be just like the nobles in attendance.
Tal - sidle up and give him an elbow to the ribs before saying "Cor, she's a looker in the audience... gonna see if she's interested in bit of wink wink nudge nudge" while pointing out Lily
Merax - get him a gift of a tabard with a sunburst motif
Pollux - rat poison or a cat?
In all seriousness, I think it's more that we haven't had a chance to thresh out a real set of encounters yet - instead being stuck in Thesing land.
I'm sure all shall improve if we survive the play

Both the monkey and my fine self will gleefully accept any and all toxins you should happen to have lying about. Remember nothing says forever like finely ground glass.
And until you've had fresh cat's eye on toast you have not lived my friend. You have not lived.
You are doing fine. The cherical comments made perfect sense to me.

Careful what you ask for. There are always those willing to go the extra mile.

'Cherical comments'? I think the monkey is getting contagious. Need to wash my paws more. I meant clerical comments. Thrice dammed monkey....
Thanks for pointing me to the bastard Nix. I was unaware of his greatness.
Bloodless |
Geez only 4th huh? On that note having a look at what multiclass might look like (Rogue might harmonise, I'd be curious about Oracle options once Blood of Heavens comes out - maybe 5th for that then) or just crack straight on Ranger and pick up my Companion.
Suppose the only companions that makes sense is a wolf really, not sure how many greatcats hang around Westcrown. No point on a horse etc!
Opinions?
Shifty |
Ok well if things are going to get really ugly about now then I suppose its a poor time to start playing multiclass. Also looking at our tankage I reckon I'm always going to be consigned to the frontline with Bej, so anything detracting from ramming steel into opponents in less than a frontal manner is probably a bit unsound.
Ranger HP 1d10 ⇒ 8
Stat bump - Con
Skills -
Acrobatics
Know (Dungeon)
Perception
Perform Act
Sense Motive
Survival
Dire rats and badgers kinda suckworthy, am trying to avoid a Dog as I have two characters almost certain to get them in the next five minutes (Harry with a beefed up Thumper, now I see your wisdom/imploring towards a Houndmaster Cav - I assume DMZZ will be ok with that) and Cedrick in Skull and Shackles.
Can I haz a wolf?
Asmodia Crispin |
Do ya like dags?
Downtime you say?
Thematically, I am thinking that Asmodia taking her 4th level point in Wisdom is a very bad idea right about now. She's been more temper and reacting to stuff in the heat of passion (boo, no strong chaos) than anything else. I'd take a level in barbarian if I thought it would make a lick of sense, way she's going.
I really wanna save a grand of that money to regenerating the kid, but Asmodia needs some actual armor. So, Tark, wanna roll me the percentage chance she'll be able to find muleback cords so she can wear heavier armor than leather or will I be prepping Ant Haul erryday?
Bloodless |
I considered it for about a minute, decided I hated it, and moved on :p
I also think that given his fairly frosty relations with the party in general it is unlikely he'd be all about buffing others, especially as they haven't shown a fondness for hearing him out (NPC's in particular) he'd be more isolationist and seek comraderie with the animals, particularly as he's been working in game as an animal handler.
Shifty |
Yeah I was looking for a more 'heavenly' familiar, and I liked those... I was just wary of GMHate towards flying and the scouting/gameplay options it brings, and having people set even MORE on edge by strange angel guy with his heavenly familiar...
If there's not going to be a drama with flappy mcbirdbrain then I could happily consider it.
Aerieth Deventis |
I do not have the time to really work on leveling for the next few days probably. I will get it done by the end of this weekend, possibly sooner. Most likely I will take 2nd level in Wizard.
Bloodless - Snake is also an option, but probably wolf is your best bet.
Bloodless |
Yeah I had a look at birds, they are coolfun for a while, but become pretty weak pretty fast. The problem really kicks in at 7 where they start falling behind pretty badly. I'd be up for taking Boon Companion at 5 just to get something substantial out there in the fights with us as Bej and I aren't as tough as I'd like.
Asmodia Crispin |
That's why (well, partially why) I built Asmodia as a summoner. Flanking bonuses to make the melee dudes shine.
Other reason is because summoning is only cool in PbP. At table it's just taking up like a bazzillion minutes controlling your little pieces on the board while everyone else sits there and looks bored and frustrated with your turn in combat lasting like 20 minutes...
Shifty |
More than that this AP has a hard on for indoor combat and close quarters street fighting. I'd be hesistant to even build an archer for this adventure.
Err...
I was thinking I haven't really been able to crack out the ranged weapons to start using my rapid shot etc, so it isn't just my imagination.
If its indoors and close up perhaps then the Bird is a pretty unwise choice (although thematically enjoyable) and I am back with ground based. Time for a wolf?
Bejis Krupt |
Ultimately, I think our biggest lack has been our social skills. Bejis could take a level of Rogue to bring up his social skills, but level dipping has always felt "cheap" to me.
That being said, Bejis does tend to be the most "normal" or "approachable" of the group. With the Cosmopolitan feat, and ignoring the physical skills, Bejis could get 2 skills (from Diplomacy, Sense Motive, or Bluff) up by level 5. Bejis does have ranks in Intimidate, but that has consequences when you are in a lasting social scenario.
What roles do you all envision your characters in filling?
Bejis was envisioned as a frontline meatshield who is dissatisfied with the existing ruling class, but lacks the social skills to do anything about it. Hence, he has been dependent upon the League to guide him in how to apply his "skills". Switching to a more socially function character could be a natural progression, but it would be a role transition.
TarkXT |
Well honestly you ahve potentially very good social characters in the group. One would think the saucy bar wench would be the personal type. But most often she comes off as a belligerent and angry drunk.
Then you have bloodless who seems poised to inspire and honestly in just about any other part of the world he would be great at it. Here though he suffers from prejudice and the nature of the people he's been dealing with. He also tends to come off as preachy and a little scary in his intensity probably why Janiven likes him.
LeVash is the sleeper here. Honestly of all the characters he's got the best potential in terms of social ability. He just needs to stop being Batman long enough to channel Captain America.
So really it's not that you need a character with social skills (rebels have about ten times the amount of skill points invested as the nobles) just more sociable characters.
